Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I sent a dispute to Discover XX/XX/XXXX, with dispute number XXXX about services from a merchant. I had 30 days to submit documents, however, Discover closed the dispute case without even considering my documents. I called them on XX/XX/XXXX to reopen the dispute and they said they will not as this is a direct line of communication between them and merchant. They only considered the merchant 's response in completing investigation and refused to reopen investigation. Furthermore, XXXX, the supervisor I was speaking with stated she can not continue investigation because while I was not satisfied with the service and service was not as advertised on merchant 's website, I can't dispute that and they will take merchants side. However, on discover 's how to dispute credit card, it says directly that " Did you pay for something that was never delivered? Was there a quality issue that affected your ability to use your purchase, or the product you received wasn't as advertised when you charged your card to pay for it? While you'll need to make a good-faith effort to solve the problem with the merchant first, you can also dispute credit card purchases where there were these types of service issues. '' I gave evidence to Discover that services are not as advertised and they said that they could not open the dispute because I can't dispute a charge if I wasn't satisfied with quality. However, on their dispute process, it clearly states that is one of the reasons to have a dispute.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2022 I purchased a computer device for {$5300.00} using my Discover credit card through XXXX. The computer arrived defective, so the seller promised to fix it. I sent it back to them to fix and then the seller claimed they never received the money from Discover. As a result I don't have the computer and Discover still charged me this amount plus a bunch of late fees. I have been disputing this with them since XXXX this year. Now they ruined my credit score and I can't buy a house. Please, help ASAP. I never had in the past, nor have any debt now, my credit score is supposed to be perfect. I have all the proof and documentation, please, let me know if you want to see it. I already filed the report with you, Discover replied with a bunch of lies and you closed the case without notifying me or letting me provide all the proof. Now you owe me an explanation why I should pay for the item I have not received and how are they allowed to ruin my perfect credit report after trying to steal money from me.

Consumer Complaint: My wallet was stolen towards the end of XX/XX/2022. I was in a middle of a military mission stationed in XXXX XXXX so by the time I had computer access and phone access for a long enough time, I saw that my Discover Card had fraudulent charges on it. I opened up a dispute with Discover in XX/XX/2022 and they claim that there was no fraud. I reopened the investigation and sent them the military police report and they still claimed no fraud. I asked for more information, proof of investigation, or what else they will need from me to prove that I did not make those charges and they did not give me anything.

Consumer Complaint: In summer of 2022 I participated in a consumer credit transaction with Discover Bank and it has been ongoing until recently. The corporation has claimed that I owe an alleged debt. I have requested proof of that information from the corporation twice and I have not received any proof. The only thing it has mailed me is statements which are not proof. I also have a the credit card agreement between me and the corporation. Discover is in violation of the TILA, FDCPA, FCRA, and GLBA. I have attached my letters and the corporation responses. The statements and payment history provides proof of extortion. The card agreement provides proof of the CCT. Discover has furnished this account to the credit reporting agencies without my permission and has defamed my character and credit worthiness.

Consumer Complaint: Discover closed my credit card due to inactivity without notifying me. I have been a customer of Discover for 20 years, have never made a late payment, and never even approached my credit limit. I received no notifications that this was happening, either by mail or email. No attempts were made to call me. They refuse to reopen the card, which was closed without my knowledge only 3 months ago. They want me to reapply for a new card. I have been damaged by this as the excellent credit history of the card has been deleted from my credit report, my total available credit has been reduced, which will adversely effect my credit score, and now have less actual available credit if I need it. Further, they want me to re-apply which will damage my credit score by adding an inquiry, and placing new credit on my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2022, I purchased XXXX once and cancelled after my cats refused to use this litter. A few months later, XXXX, another {$100.00} package arrived and I immediately requested to return the unopened and unsolicited box. XXXX 's customer service ignored my request for days and I kept texting them for a return label. Finally got the label and returned the product but XXXX failed to issue a refund. I noticed the missing refund 60 days later and contested the charge with the credit card. XXXX responded with someone else 's personal information and Discover Card refused to issue the refund due me not having a copy of the return label showing the address that XXXX returned the package. The tracking details were inadequate since there is no address on that receipt. XXXX is still fighting with me even though they acknowledge receiving the returned box less than a week later via text messages. As I did my research, I discovered that XXXX XXXX just bought XXXX - I'm guessing that the past CEO was overstating sales in order to gain a higher valuation. The BIG ISSUE is that Discover Card accepted the wrong information for an unknown person and decided in favor of XXXX. XXXX refuses to refund this money until I withdraw my appeal with Discover Card. Discover Card is denying that they shared the Personally Identifiable Information ( PII ) for another XXXX customer, violating XXXX XXXX 's privacy, and likely violating my privacy by sharing my PII with another customer appealing the charges from XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: As you can see below we made a payment of XXXX dollars on XX/XX/2023.
