Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: Hello, Please see attached documentations forwarded to Discover dispute department per their request. I like to report an issue with the dispute department ( Discover credit card ) that remains unresolved. I've attached the related documents to prevent any duplicate information. Upon speaking with a supervisor from the dispute department on XX/XX/23 we forwarded another document to resolve the dispute that involves re-posting a charge after it was already resolved a month prior. We also reached out to Discover customer advocacy, complaint and compliances as well as ethical business conduct.

Consumer Complaint: Initially, I was shopping for HELOC products without running my XXXX XXXX and checked a few lenders, including Discover XXXX XXXX. When I received the call from the Discover 's representative XXXX XXXX XXXX ID # XXXX on XX/XX/23, he stated that Discover could do a no appraisal loan based on the XXXX, which he checked the value as XXXX. The representative provided the rate based on the soft credit and then requested that I release my credit, which could be FCRA violation. I was very clear about the fact that I needed to make sure that everything that he was stating was correct, and he said yes, it was. As a result of the promise from the Discover associate, I have released my credit freeze and allowed Discover to run my XXXX XXXX. The commitment, however, was not fulfilled because I was told after the fact that I needed a drive-by appraisal, which I was not told about initially. Furthermore, after the drive-by appraisal, I was told that I needed a full appraisal, which could be considered a total bait and switch from the initial phone call. I requested from Discover to listen to the phone call at the time of the application but received no response. I am requesting from Discover to make it right for me and provide the loan based on the original agreement. I will get the loan based on the value and 80 % XXXX.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Money was taken from your account on the wrong day or for the wrong amount
Consumer Complaint: I booked an appointment on XXXX with a hairstylist who unfortunately was very unprofessional and rude. She changed my appointment last minute causing me to miss several appointments I had scheduled that day, XX/XX/2023 ( approximately ). I took the style down the next day because it was hurting my head and pulling my hair out. I reached out to her on several platforms and also reached out to my bank requesting a refund. I submitted messages between myself and the stylist showing that she agreed to issue a refund. The 'merchant " 'XXXX ' is not the one who is responsible for issuing refunds. It is solely up to the stylist. I have called my bank, Discover, and stated this numerous times and they will not listen to me. I have experienced discrimination and been treated terribly by nearly everyone in the disputes/investigations division. They are very short and argumentative with me and someone told me I could have fabricated the messages and they are going to side with the 'merchant ' because my documents are not 'authentic. ' I have been a customer for XXXX years and have never been treated like this by them. I need something to be done about the discrimination and unfair treatment that occurred. Preferably I would like my {$120.00} back like the stylist agreed to issue because that is the only XXXX who can agree to the refund, not 'XXXX ' like the people at Discover think but they refuse to listen or believe me.

Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I am beyond frustrated with the poor handling of fraudulent charges wrongly attributed to my Discover Card account. Despite submitting an official police report, FTC Identity Theft report, and contacting the fraud department multiple times, XXXX have failed to adequately investigate or validate {$310.00} in charges made without my authorization on my Discover Card. As a result, the balance is incorrect and is being reported incorrectly. Not only have Discover reported inaccurate, unverified information to XXXX, harming my creditworthiness, but XXXX continues suppressing this issue when I have provided substantial evidence of criminal financial fraud requiring their urgent attention. The simplistic rationale that I must have made the charges since past bills were paid ignores today 's rampant identity theft risks. Over 92 % more Americans fell victim to account takeover fraud amidst the pandemic when many, like myself, faced personal trauma, job loss, and overwhelming instability taking focus away from finances. With my social security number, passwords, and other information compromised in various data breaches, it is entirely plausible my account was hacked by fraudsters. I am officially demanding complete statements itemizing all account charges and expect XXXX and Discover to provide concrete verification like IP addresses, geolocation history, or other transaction metadata before falsely claiming charges as my own ever again. The reinstatement of unverified, disputed charges to my credit reports violates federal law. I have already suffered serious financial and emotional harm due to XXXX 's mishandling and urge this final good-faith attempt at resolution before pursuing legal action over irresponsible business practices. I believe that XXXX is in cahoots with Discover to keep this negative file on my report without providing adequate evidence that i made these charges. Please confirm receipt and provide next steps for thoroughly reassessing all unauthorized transactions. XXXX also refuses to block the fraudalent and inaccurately reported account from my report! This is a blatant violation of my rights. The specific provision in the FCRA that addresses my situation is found in Section 605A. This section outlines the procedures for blocking information resulting from identity theft. According to the FCRA, credit reporting agencies must block the information within four business days of receiving an identity theft report, which may include a police report. XXXX refuses to honor this right!!!
