Issue: Took or threatened to take negative or legal action
Subissue: Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged
Consumer Complaint: I asked for you to remove these accounts from my credit report and you instead updated them. I am at a loss right now, because I provided facts directly from my credit report that detail because they do not belong there. Although I may not be a lawyer, I do know that an account in violation must be removed and that I can go after you for these violations. I would like for you to again perform an independent investigation into the accuracy of these accounts and to remove them because of the dispute reasons that I have listed immediately below them. In addition, I need to see where you are getting this information from because I don't believe that you ever reached out to these creditors! Remove these accounts immediately. I don't believe that there's been an actual investigation on these accounts and you've failed to furnish any documentation that prove they are reported correctly. Because of this, I need for you to perform an independent investigation and go beyond the original source of information to ascertain the accuracy of my accounts. I would also like to see all documentation that was used in the previous investigation as well as the documentation that you are required to have on file prior to the reporting of this account to ensure accuracy. I am getting really frustrated, because you guys keep telling me that I am wrong when I'm sending you info taken directly from my credit report! This is exactly what you are reporting and I'm pointing out the errors, so how am I wrong when it's what you're showing me? Delete the following fraudulent items from my credit report that I have reported to the FTC, CFPB and police department! I have sent many prior requests to your company to reinvestigate several inquiries that I believe to be incorrect on my credit report. Arent you required to complete these investigations within 30 days of receipt? I have heard of companies pulling peoples credit without permissible purpose and I have yet to see verification of those purposes provided by your company. I will once again list the inquiries in need of investigation. I have tried to contact every XXXX of the companies listed and most of them do not even have any record of me. How can they have a permissible business purpose to pull my credit if they dont even know who I am? Please do as you are governed under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and do a complete investigation on the listed inquiries. Provide me with the results of your investigation within 30 days of receipt of this letter. I am sending this letter certified mail, return receipt requested so that I will have documented confirmation of delivery. I would like to see the paperwork that proves you did not simply use an electronic response system with the disputed creditors. I've done some research and have found that this can not possibly result in a true and independent investigation! How could it possibly when there are XXXX computers communicating the same information? You would obviously come back with a verified as accurate response when you are comparing the information you have against the information the creditor has because this info is directly from their records! Where are the documents that prove otherwise? What contracts, receipts, records, applications and other paperwork were used to determine the accuracy of my disputed accounts? Please send me this paperwork along with a detailed report that goes over how this investigation was done and irrefutable proof that your claim is true. If this documentation is not provided, then it goes to prove that I'm right and these should not be reported like this. What doesn't make sense is that I've provided FACTS directly from my credit report and I've shown you why they're wrong and yet, you continue to report. Please expedite this process because this just isn't right! Please re-investigate the following below accordingly or I will ask my legal representative to escalate these matters to small claims court litigation, because I have done everything, I am supposed to do under FCRA XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing this to express serious concerns regarding Discover Card 's payment processing practices, which appear to be designed to generate excessive fees at the expense of cardholders. The American public. Specifically, there is evidence suggesting a pattern of delayed withdrawals from consumer accounts, resulting in " returned check charges '' of {$30.00} per transaction. This practice raises several troubling concerns : Financial Hardship : Delaying withdrawals can create a false sense of available funds, leading to inadvertent overdrafts and financial strain for cardholders. Inconsistent Withdrawal Periods : The absence of a predictable withdrawal schedule further compounds the issue, making it challenging for consumers to manage their finances accurately. Deceptive Fee Reversals : While Discover may reverse these fees upon request, there are reports of them reappearing on subsequent statements, indicating a lack of transparency and potentially deceptive practices. These concerns collectively suggest a pattern of behavior that prioritizes fee generation over consumer financial well-being. Such practices are not only harmful to consumers, but also raise questions about Discover 's compliance with ethical business standards and consumer protection regulations. I urge you to investigate these matters thoroughly and take appropriate action to protect consumers & the American public from unfair and potentially predatory practices by multibillion dollar multinational corporations. Thank you for your time & for all you do.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Overcharged for something you did purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: After a review of my discover credit card account, I found a mysterious charge of {$200.00} from discover during the holiday season. Ive contacted discover about this and other mysterious activity ; find the procedural history below. 1. I opened a secured card with discover with a {$200.00} deposit. After 6 months of on-time payments, discover was set to return my security deposit and raise my credit limit. 2. I requested the security deposit be credited to my discover credit card account but for some reason this was not possible. [ This was the first opportunity to eliminate ambiguity ] 3. I asked for the security deposit to be credited to my debit card but for some reason this was not possible. 4. Discovers option was to send a check. I never received the check from discover. 5. I asked the security deposit be credited to my traditional checking account and discover agreed to issue a stop payment on the check then send the security deposit to my checking account. 6. After receiving the security deposit in my checking account, I made a payment from my checking account to my discover credit card account in the amount of {$200.00} on XX/XX/XXXX ( posted on XX/XX/XXXX ) in the spirit of my original request. 7. On XX/XX/XXXX my discover credit card account was erroneously charged a - {$200.00} adjustment fee. XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX after discovering the adjustment fee, I contacted discover for a reason for the adjustment fee, receiving two explanations 1 ) my checking account bank allegedly returned the payment? ( no, my checking account bank says that never happened ). 2 ) Discover allegedly gave the security deposit to me twice by mistake ( no, this did not happen )? 9. The result of the actions is that my discover account is overcharged by - {$200.00} and I may have been overcharged on interest. 10. Discover describes the situation as crazy alleging : " Two refunds were sent via electronic deposit ( ACH ). The first was sent on XX/XX/XXXX. The second was sent on XX/XX/XXXX. '' a. Not possible. My bank would have the records and they have stated they do not. More specifically my bank statement listed only one discover credit on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$200.00}. b. discover has refused to provide the ACH tracking numbers of the alleged transactions which would quickly prove that discover did not send me two electronic deposits ACH. The only remedy for this discrepancy is to add + {$200.00} ( as a credit ) my discover credit card account. P.S. I received two email responses from discover stating my credit card balance is allegedly ~ {$660.00} and also stating that I am eligible for a {$1.00} statement credit. This of course falls short.
