Issue: Struggling to pay your bill
Subissue: Credit card company won't work with you while you're going through financial hardship
Consumer Complaint: I suffered a total loss on my primary residence due to XXXX XXXX. As a result, I spent all of my savings, took out retirement, and maxed out my credit cards because my insurance company went bankrupt. The banks are refusing to give me a forbearance or any sort of deferment and have reported to the agencies that I do not pay my bills. They have charged off my debt and have significantly destroyed my credit. They are unwilling to work with me. This is not my fault. I have always paid my bills on time and now have to file bankruptcy as a result of a hurricane and the lack of regulation of insurance companies in the state of Florida. I am paying a mortgage on a home that is condemned in addition to a mortgage on a rental property and rent for myself if I can afford it.I have been living in hotels. I have been living in a car XXXX I have a salary of {$11000.00} a year and I'm currently homeless because I make too much money to benefit from federal or state programs. My house is condemned and unsafe and I have been unable to see my child since XXXX. I do not need additional financial hardship as a result of an act of XXXX and the lack of regulation by the government.

Upon review of my report, I noticed that several deviations from mandatory standards were present which will most likely affect the validity and accuracy of data in this document. These claims that the information in my report is negative, untrue or incorrect are unsubstantiated. To date I have not received any physical proof to back up these statements and eagerly await a reply from you.Document that you have complied with the reporting requirements, and report without any deviations. Please note that if you have not complied with the requirements, I will need to remove them from my report.Per 15 U.S.C 1681e Whenever a consumer reporting agency prepares a consumer report it shall follow reasonable procedures to assure maximum possible accuracy of the information concerning the individual about whom the report relatesAlso per 12 CFR Part 1022 ( Regulation V ) requires furnishers to : A - Furnish information about accounts or other relationships with a consumer that has integrity. Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I bought a product on XXXX and then returned it according to the sellers preferences. I waited several weeks for a refund and when I did not receive one I initiated a dispute with Discover, my credit card company. I opened the dispute on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX, the credit for {$390.00} was applied to my account. This credit was kept on the account for months until XXXX came and Discover said the dispute was resolved in favor of the seller. I uploaded further documentation proving that i returned the product according to specifications on XXXX website and am entitled to a full refund. These documents included the receipt with the returned package tracking number, screen shots from XXXX website verifying that the package was received and signed for, and screen shots from XXXX chats and emails verifying that I was refunded to my discover card on XX/XX/XXXX for the full amount of {$390.00}. When I spoke to Discover over the phone ( on multiple occasions ) they said that XXXX had never refunded me and that the credit I saw posted to my account on XX/XX/XXXX was the temporary credit from Discover. When I spoke to XXXX however, they insisted that the XX/XX/XXXX credit was from them. Either way Discover took the credit, ( which was labeled as an XXXX refund ) away from my account on my XXXX statement as they reapplied the charge as the dispute was resolved in the sellers favor and not mine. This means that I have no product and no refund. Discover has refused to help me any further in this situation even though they wrongfully handled my dispute.
