Consumer Complaint: I have been receiving unwanted mail directly to my address for several years now. Weeks ago I had called discover and opted out of mail and marketing. With the agent I also made sure my information was erased from their system. Now several weeks later I have received more spam mail to my home address. I just called discover for a second time at their customer service line XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX and after three transfers and opting out of mail/marketing once again, I was told I might still receive mail. I have never been associated with the company discover in any way. I wish to stop receiving unwanted mail. It is ridiculous how much time and effort I have had to put into this. I just wish to be left alone by discover and for my information to truly be deleted from their system.

Also identity theft was taking place on my account with out my permission someone have stole my phone number email address social security number date of birth and used it to make fraudulent identity theft over the time, there was an authorized user addeded to credit card account with my authority and was making fradulent charges on my account and now the credit card company is holding me responsible for the charges on the account. thank you.

Consumer Complaint: Discover Credit Operations Team Subject : Violation of 15 U.S. Code 1681m - Requirements on Users of Consumer Reports Reference Number : XXXX Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to bring to your attention a serious matter regarding the denial of an extension of credit on my open-ended credit plan with Discover. I have recently discovered that this denial may be in violation of 15 U.S. Code 1681m, which outlines the requirements placed on users of consumer reports. According to my understanding of the law, as a user of consumer reports, Discover Financial Services is obligated to follow certain regulations when making decisions related to extending credit. Denying me an extension on my own credit, which is not related to insurance or employment, raises concerns regarding potential non-compliance with the aforementioned statute. Section 1681m specifically states that users of consumer reports must have a permissible purpose for obtaining the report. Denying an extension of credit on an open-ended credit plan, where the consumer is already an existing customer, does not appear to meet the criteria of a permissible purpose as described in the statute. I kindly request that you review my case thoroughly and provide an explanation for the denial of my credit extension. Consumer Complaint: I initiated a balance transfer from my wife 's Discover card to a new XXXX card. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX posted the balance on my new card and discover posted the balance transfer fee on the my wife 's old discover account. The balance of my wife 's Discover card was not transferred to the new XXXX card, effectively doubling the amount of debt. We called Discover to sort out the issue and they insisted they had no record of the balance transfer between cards and there was nothing they could do to help us. This is galling given that there is a balance transfer fee line item on my Discover card statement, effectively showing me that XXXX billed Discover for the balance transfer fee of 3 %, but the representative could not read that item to understand the context of the issue. In both cases the service representative was unable to comprehend the issue and had no ideas related to solutions or even next steps to find a solution. The lack of real customer support systems and proper technology infrastructure to ensure compliance with federal consumer financial regulations seems to be a systemic problem for Discover.

Consumer Complaint: The 11 District Circuit Court bankruptcy division is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. When you appear to court for mediation you are instructed to sit in the out in the lobby and wait on the attorney. They let the creditors have a field day with the consumers, many who do not speak or understand English. I saw an attorney asking random people to interpret for him. During this mediation no judge or court personal speaks to until after you have been misled or intimated by the creditor 's attorney. I told them that I wanted to go to trail but I was told that I would have to attend another virtual mediation before I can go to trail. I received the court documents in the mail of the court appointment, but not the information for the meeting. I had to research how to get to the Judge XXXX meeting. Thank XXXX I am tech savvy because I had to find the information out for court website and I was in the wrong courtroom for a minute because there are two judges with the same first and last name. Once I was on the right page it told me to wait and someone will be with me in a minute. That never happened so I found the number to the judge ' clerk and she was able to give me the information. I made it to the meeting 5 minute late. They seemed very surprised to see me and I told the mediator that I never received noticed. She than asked me how did I get the information. They court and the creditor both had been informed electronically but they lied and said that my appointment was physically delivered. I have proof that the mediator typed and mailed the later no earlier than XX/XX/XXXX as dated on the letter and sent it regular mail. My court date was for XX/XX/2023. Any competent person would know that it was a possibility that I would not receive notice in time. I also have proof that I did not receive the letter until after the court mediation was scheduled. I feel that this was intentional and needs to be investigated The main reason for my complaint is that the letter stated the it was physical deliver which is not true and the mediator seemed to have made it impossible to make the meeting and during the meeting she seemed to not understand my position and sided with the creditors. I told her that there are payment there that they said I made and I did not make those payments and offered my bank statement as proof. The creditor and the mediator response was why am I worried about someone making a payment for me? I responded that if someone put money in your bank account are you going to worry about who has access? I am submitting this complaint because I know that I am not the only victim of this tactic. I feel sorry for the people who show up without representation and who is poorly informed of the legal system.

Consumer Complaint: In Mid XX/XX/2023, I have set up a personal loan with Discover Personal Loan Recovery Team. I made a payment before XX/XX/2023 and on XX/XX/2023. The account supposed to be settle in full. I spoke to XXXX XXXX XXXX in the Recovery department stating be Paid in Full on credit reporting agencies. Also, I never received a copy of the account being satisfied for the settlement agreement. I would like a copy of the account being settle in full on company letterhead. The agreement should stated the account won't be sell to another debt buyer. Also, I received email stating my address isn't correct. Which is correct. The address is part of the XXXX XXXX XXXX program. My address is confidential per the law. Failure to honor that will result in legal liabilities for Discover Personal Loan if its made public. You can send my documents by email per our agreement when the settlement was established. XXXX or XXXX promise it be email and it hasn't.

Consumer Complaint: Even if you didn't receive Form 1099-C, you must report canceled debt as gross income on your tax return. The IRS Clearly defines a charge off as Gross or Ordinary income, INCOME DOES NOT GET REPORTED ON THE CONSUMER REPORT which in fact makes your reporting of this account inaccurate! By Definition The IRS Clearly says a Canceled or Charge off is income. The reporting of this account as a debt is inaccurate.
