Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: XXXX was informed XXXX XXXX that Discover card was reporting the wrong balances on my credit. After months Discover finally admitted that they were reporting the wrong balance, and that they were charging me for money that was paid to them and money that was returned to the count per unauthorized charges with interest intact. The {$1400.00} Discover has credited the account is a part of the inaccurate balance that they have been claiming was debt or credit to the credit bureau owed to them for months. When I asked Discover to admit this to the credit bureau they came up with excuses and lies telling me that their inaccurate report did not matter and for me to have creditors call them to let them know they made a mistake if I needed a loan. They have been recorded telling me that what is written in the credit bureau does not matter. I began not to trust Discover and have recording XXXX of everything they said to me, which confirms the accuracy of all that has been stated.,. The damage Discover card did could have been fixed early on if XXXX had properly disputed and researched the credit amounts that Discover stated they issued, when they did not issue nor ask my permission to increase my credit line. Discover card abused my trust. Discover literally took money from my bank and claimed it was credit issued to me by Discover then reported my money as debt to the credit Bureau, which is illegal and was never authorized by me.

Consumer Complaint: The presence of a derogatory rating on my account is deeply concerning to me. I am worried about the impact it may have on my credit, as it has already resulted in the denial of a recent loan application and an increase in the interest rates on my existing credit accounts. I want to emphasize the significant financial and emotional distress this negative rating has caused me and will continue to cause until it is resolved.

Consumer Complaint: Discover sided with a merchant on dispute that clearly had no legs. Initially, I had an autoship with XXXX which was routed to a different card for over six months so this charge no longer appeared on Discover for over six months. Then I reached out to XXXX to cancel that autoship in writing. Instead of cancelling they submitted my initial customer agreement to Discover and started charging me again. I immediately disputed the charge, but Discover in their infinite wisdom decided it was valid even though no product was received by me. The amount in dispute is {$54.00} which I would like to see returned to me ASAP.

Consumer Complaint: Discover it card company asked me to do the ID verification on XXXX. I submitted the notarized ID verification form on XXXX. XXXX. I call the company everyday to check if they received the form. Finally, they received on XXXX. Normally, the ID verification form review process is XXXX business days. I called multiple times to check if review finished in the past several days. The company didn't send me any e-mail or give me a call to update the status. Today, I call them again. They said my ID verification process was failed as they called the notary twice ( XXXX and XXXX ). But she didn't pickup the call. They only call XXXX times for the whole review process. Now, They asked me to re-do the ID verification with a new notary. I explained the notary ( XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX ) is out of office as this week is holiday. If can extend to next week to check with notary. But they rejected and still asked me to re-do the ID verification form. I am not sure why Discover it card company insist only call the notary twice for the review process. It's really not a good customer service experience.
