Consumer Complaint: on XX/XX/2023, i went to the XXXX gas station and used my Discover credit card to get some gas for my car I believe I left the card out on the counter of gas station or fell out from my pocket. on XX/XX/XXXX I went to my discover app to pay my monthly payment and I discovered there were lots of charges over XXXX dollars of unauthorized charges on my discover credit card. so, I went to call discover and were looking for my card and i couldn't find my card. so, I immediately contacted Discover where i found the number from internet and i spoked to customer service and i told them what exactly happened and they asked me if i have my card which i told them no, they asked me if the charges were mine and i told them no and they said they will remove charged for me and closed the account and send me a new card. I asked the customer service at that time if i need to file a police report and she told me no i don't need it. This Sunday i looked out on my statement to pay my card and realized all the charges are back on the card. I decided to file a complaint to local authorities that's what brought me here today. Please help me with this stressful situation. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, Discover closed my account without informing me of the reason or the fact that it was closed at all. Over a week later, the auto-generated email said they could not verify my identity. When I finally reached someone on the phone on XX/XX/2023, they informed me that I had done everything right in terms of verification, and had accidentally closed my account due to the fact that I ( an XXXX XXXX XXXX with very limited employment history ) had not filed taxes, even though I was not required to. They said they would reopen my account in a few days, but two weeks and several phone calls on my part later, all I know is that they said corporate is handling it with no end date in time. I have not received any communication from them via email since XXXX 2023. They have not called me. They refuse to update me on the status of my secured deposit refund or my account reopening. My credit score dropped XXXX points from their mistake and rendered me unable to do anything that requires decent credit history. I am missing {$300.00} that they told me would be refunded.

Consumer Complaint: My identity has been stolen and Discover Card is part of that as I reported to the Federal Trade Commission this is going on for XXXX months now I sent everything I could send to them as evidence and they denied me XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from Discover Card saying I wanted to back out of the fraud charges that was a big LIE I never said that, as from the beginning the XXXX charges are Unauthorized Fraudulent charges and need to be taken care of the bank and myself are still waiting to hear from XXXX I believe you are as well its almost the 60 day mark and nobody has heard from them I sent paperwork to Discover that they requested they are still denying my claim now they lie on the letter and say I pulled the fraudulent charges against them which I did not but that's what they do I guess just like their false advertising on TV get a discover card today if there is fraudulent charges on your account we will remove them no questions asked that is a huge lie and very deceiving to consumers I think that commercial should be pulled from TV all I want Is charges to come off credit card i did not authorize them and they are fraudulent I Spoke to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX they want more paperwork evidence I gave them what I have they want new there is nothing new waiting to hear from XXXX I'm trying to save my credit but when your identity is stolen you are treated as criminal very sad.
