Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I am writing to express my concerns and seek your assistance regarding a recent dispute with regard to a charge on my Discover Credit Card for a coaching program purchased from XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/2023, I enrolled in a coaching program offered by XXXX XXXX with the expectation of receiving valuable guidance and support to help my business achieve a sales target of {$30000.00}, as stated in their program 's terms and conditions. However, upon completing the coaching program, I found that the promised value was not delivered as agreed upon. Throughout the duration of the program, I diligently followed the guidance provided by XXXX XXXX, but despite my efforts, I did not experience the progress or results they assured me I would achieve. As the program concluded after four months, rather than fulfilling their commitment to work with me until I reached the sales goal, XXXX XXXX attempted to persuade me to enroll in another program instead. I am currently faced with a situation where I have paid a significant sum of {$8000.00} for a coaching program that did not provide the intended benefits or uphold the assurances made at the outset. Out of the total amount, {$5500.00} was charged to my Discover Credit Card. In light of these circumstances, I initiated a dispute for the charge in question. Discover sided with the merchant. Even though I did not get the intended value from the service they are saying in the contractual agreement there are no refunds. I believe my dispute is valid and grounded in the fact that the service provided by XXXX XXXX did not align with the terms they initially presented, leading to a breach of contract on their part.

Consumer Complaint: I have disputed an discover credit card account on my credit profile a few times, keeps getting rejected. I did not know at the time where this account started because i did not open it until recently. I had another account that was opened unknowingly to me and i had it removed from my report which made me dig a little deeper. My mother passed away recently and i was sent her belongings from relatives, inside her belongings was a bunch of credit cards. There were 4 cards in her possession that were under my name that i was not aware of. After putting the dates together i believe that she was the one to open this account and others under my name.

Consumer Complaint: The existence of a derogatory rating on my account is causing me significant concern. I am deeply worried about its potential impact on my credit. It has already resulted in the denial of a recent loan application and an increase in the interest rates on my existing credit accounts. Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: Discover Financial Services Customer Service Department XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, IL XXXX Dear Discover Financial Services, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an important matter regarding my Discover account, specifically in reference to the statement dated XXXX. I have highlighted a statement from this billing statement that has led me to believe that I am entitled to a refund of the credit balance on my account. **Statement Attached** The highlighted statement reads as follows : " If your Account has a credit balance, the amount is shown on the front of your billing statement. A credit balance is money that is owed to you. You may make charges against this amount if your Account is open. We will send you a refund of any remaining balance of {$1.00} or more after 6 months, or as otherwise required by applicable law, or upon request made to the address in the Contact Us section on page 3 of your billing statement. '' Based on this statement, it is my understanding that I am owed a refund of the credit balance that is currently displayed on the front of my billing statement. I would like to request that this refund for the attached statement be immediately applied to my account. Additionally, I wish to discuss a more substantial matter concerning my account. Instead of receiving a physical check through the mail for the refund of the statements, I would like to propose an alternative solution. I kindly request that all of my previous statements be reviewed and the credit balances from those statements be totaled. I would like this total to be applied as an increase to my credit limit on my Discover account. To expedite the resolution of this matter, I am requesting that Discover Financial Services contact me within 24 hours of receiving this letter by email, which will be sent via priority mail and will be tracked for your reference. I trust that this issue can be resolved promptly and amicably. However, if this matter is not addressed in a timely manner, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action to ensure my rights are upheld. Should we opt for arbitration and I emerge victorious in court, it's worth noting that I could potentially be awarded 1 % of the company 's net worth as compensation. However, I believe it is in everyone 's best interest to resolve this matter amicably and expeditiously, which would entirely eliminate the need for such legal proceedings. I am also willing to sign a nondisclosure agreement to keep this matter from the ears of the public. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to a swift resolution and request that you update me on the progress as soon as possible.
