Issue: Repossession
Subissue: Account reinstatement or redemption after repossession
Consumer Complaint: This is the second complaint made via this website. The first being on XX/XX/2023 after the vehicle was repossessed. Upon going to my parking spot I realized that my vehicle was not there. After several inquiries to the apartment complex where I live, I came to the realization that Credit Acceptance must have had my vehicle repossessed. Upon speaking to a customer representative and a supervisor, they informed me that there was a problem with my automatic payments, and they had not received payments on our agreed payment arrangement for the months of XXXX and XXXX. I informed them that I was not aware of this problem and inquired why they did not send me any notices regarding the default payments via mail as has been the case in the past. The supervisor at the time stated that she was not aware of why that was, but if I wanted my vehicle returned I would have to pay a certain amount of money, or the vehicle would be auctioned. After the first complaint, Credit Acceptance stated that they sent out a notice. They further claimed that the person investigating the complaint was unable to reach me. However, the notices that were sent out were done on the actual date of repossession, XX/XX/2023 and addressed to my former residence. The second notice was sent to my current address on XX/XX/2023 discussing the investigation set forth by Credit Acceptance after I filed the complaint. There was no correspondence presented by the company to demonstrate that they attempted to send me any communication via mail or email regarding default payments or due process of repossession of the vehicle. They failed to mention that I did return the phone call by the person investigating the complaint, and that she stated that she would investigate the matter, and there was no more communication with my person. Considering that Credit Acceptance had not tried to communicate as all businesses/organizations do regarding a missed payment, it is my belief that Credit Acceptance utilized two months of missed payments to justify and make a profit not only on the remaining balance, but also on fees that would be accrued after the vehicle is auctioned. A tactic that I find to be very disingenuous as they promote their company as one of helping those acquire a vehicle when they can not get approved by other loan companies. For a company that prides themselves in helping people get into a vehicle, their lack to communicate caused an unnecessary financial burden. I had to cancel my auto insurance that will most likely increase my rate when I return to the company and get insured again when I get a vehicle. As a result of not having a vehicle, I had to find other means of getting to my destination that caused a financial burden as well.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX, Credit Acceptance and XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX got a judgement against me for {$15000.00}. They never received funds, because I was not working to be able to afford them to take wages from me. The judgement disappeared until XXXX. They came after me for wage garnishment, and I believe they received a few {$15.00} payments from XXXX, even tho I wasn't making enough for them to take anything. I left XXXX and went to XXXX at the end of XXXX. It's now XXXX and they are now just coming after me again. I am so over this zombie debt! Credit Acceptance is very predatory. They need to be stopped!

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I have called Credit Acceptance and XXXX XXXX XXXX several times to figure out what is going on regarding missed payments for a XXXX XXXX. The only missed payment that should have been reported was for XX/XX/XXXX, which was then paid in XX/XX/XXXX. Around XX/XX/XXXX, missing payments from XX/XX/XXXXXXXX to XX/XX/XXXXXXXX were reported to the 3 credit bureaus. Both Credit Acceptance and XXXX XXXX XXXX are saying they do not report missing payments to the credit bureaus, but neither will give me something in writing stating same. I have even asked for logs of the missing payments, but no one will respond. I can not get a copy of the signed lease agreement or financing documents. XXXX XXXX XXXX refuses to acknowledge in-writing that the vehicle 's whereabouts are known to them, they just refuse to get the vehicle. Overall, this is very fraudulent behavior- especially given that Credit Acceptance was willing to settle and close the lease agreement after the XX/XX/XXXXXXXX payment was made.

Consumer Complaint: Credit acceptance auto finance loan is a bunch of crooks. All the information pertaining to my car loan that I inquired on has continuously went unanswered. Here are some of my concerns. For starters I have been paying a repossession down for two ( 2 ) years in the amount of {$500.00} monthly and the balance still remains the same. This would make the loan more than 120 days past due and yet the loan has still yet to be written off ; and I am still being assessed compounding late fees. I would like to settle this loan for a reasonable amount or the value of the vehicle. I have dealt with difficulties and setbacks throughout the course of the pandemic including contacting XXXX myself multiple times, unsteady employment and housing and each and every time I asked for assistance I had been denied. Please assist with a settlement or balance write off for this vehicle as they have received more than what the vehicle is worth.
