Consumer Complaint: JeffersonCapitalSystemsLLC has been harassing me regarding a debt purchased from XXXX XXXX pertaining to an early termination fee of {$100.00} over 2 years ago. Both companies have most recently listed the account as having been opened under the term " automated '' late last year on my credit report. This occurred after another collection agency had sent me an offer to reduce the amount owed if I agreed to pay in full. Jefferson Capital has made numerous inquiries into my credit, given incorrect information such as multiple case numbers, multiple company name variations and were listed as a seperate owner along with XXXX listing on my credit report. I have also received multiple calls on my cell phone which is on the national 'Do Not Call ' list. After being sent several collection orders lacking the original debt 's owner information and number a cease and desist letter was sent over a year ago via mail. I disputed XXXX early termination fee from the start and am tired of this situation.

Consumer Complaint: I received a notice from a credit monitoring company that a NEW collection account was added to my credit bureau. I looked it up and it was Jefferson Capital Systems. I have contacted them asking for debt validation and have had no response. I DID NOT receive any notice from this company giving me right to validate or dispute this debt. This debt also says it is NEW and was opened in XXXX 2016 but is also in collections. That is impossible!

Consumer Complaint: Recently I found an item on my credit report from this organization. It came as a surprise as I had not received any notification, verification or communication from them. Several accounts were opened using my information in the past as an act of fraud. This fraud was likely committed by an ex significant other who managed our finances - though I do not know who for certain. The accounts seem to have a pattern of being opened, quickly used, never paid on and subsequently closed. I have alerted several companies to this and many have updated their records. It appears XXXX accounts in this office are part of this, though only XXXX is currently being reported. I do not know of the accounts in their office and had they attempted to contact me, I could have advised these are not my accounts as these accounts were listed on a notarized Federal Trade Commission Identity Theft Complaint and Affidavit. Despite this, they continue to report inaccurate data on my credit report and leave the file open using it as leverage in a sick attempt to force payment.

Consumer Complaint: There is a derogatory reference on my credit report from Jefferson Capital System ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX at XXXX ). Approximately, three months ago, I disputed this adverse notice claiming I owed {$200.00} to XXXX XXXX. I contacted XXXX XXXX on the matter, and all they could tell me is that they sold the collection to Jefferson. I called Jefferson and they can not identify any outstanding claim. This is because I contested it on my credit report, and it was removed by the credit reporting agency, but now it is showing up again. I DO NOT OWE THIS MONEY. No one can tell me what this is for. I have had a XXXX XXXX account for over 10 years. I continue to pay and be in good standing, but this keeps showing up and no one can give me any information as to why it is a collection account. According to a XXXX Report, this was placed in collection on XXXX/XXXX/2015. I did n't owe this at this point. It was later updated on XX/XX/XXXX and still showing as a derogatory notice. This is adversely affecting my credit and if someone can not provide information to me about this, it should not be allowed to be reported. when you call XXXX, an automated notice references that the account was sold. What company would sell an outstanding account if it is only placed in collection on XXXX/XXXX/2015. This is an error and it needs to be removed immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I am filing this complaint today against Jefferson Capital LLC because my credit monitoring service notified me on XXXX XXXX, 2016 that a collection was placed on my XXXX and XXXX reports by them. I have never heard of nor from this company and I have never entered into any legal agreement or contract to do business with them. Furthermore ; the debt they claim I owe them was illegally purchased and furnished on my credit file without my consent nor an opportunity to verify or validate debt per FDCPA. The debt has been previously deemed unverifiable and was removed from my credit file due to another illegal purchase once before. I have reached out to them and have asked them to please remove the unverifiable negative item from my credit reports and have been ignored so far. Please resolve the situation as soon as possible. Consumer Complaint: I contacted Jefferson Capital Systems, after finding out a collection account was posted to my credit report. I researched the company and contacted them via the phone number found on the web. After waiting on the line for 15 minutes, I was transferred to XXXX XXXX This call was placed on XXXX/XXXX/2016 at XXXX. After verifying my personal information, and confirming the last XXXX digits of my social security number, I was advised that my account was owned by Jefferson Capital Systems but it was given to a company named XXXX XXXX XXXX to collect payment. The number I was given to call was XXXX. This number is invalid and it 's for a company called XXXX XXXX. Again, I was never notified of this debt, and called this morning to see what it was regarding. Also, I was never notified that it was an attempt to collect a debt nor informed that any information obtained will be used for that. Under the FDCPA ( Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ), and being a resident in New York State, it 's a requirement for any collection agency to make a party ascertain of the following : " This an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose '', when calling or replying to any type of debt to any and every person I speak to. After looking further into the FDCPA, I was made aware that I can sue a debt collector in a State or Federal court within XXXX year from the date the law was violated, if this violation is not handled. Per the prerecorded message while I was on hold, " all calls were recorded ''. That being said, the recorded call can confirm I was never notified of the attempt to collect a debt. I would like my debt to be closed and removed from my credit report and not sold to another creditor. I would like a letter of deletion for my book keeping or I will contact both State and Federal agencies and take this violation to court under the rights of the FDCPA.
