Consumer Complaint: Jefferson Capital, a collection company for XXXX put a mark on my credit for an account I never opened. It was opened by a lady named XXXX XXXX in my name. They threatened to have me sued if I did not settle what I owed. So I accepted a letter settlement pay off of {$150.00} dollars and paid online. The company did not remove the collection after telling me they would. They were informed this account was fraudulent and said it would be closed. I do have proof that I paid the {$150.00} dollar settlement to them. I dispute it on my credit report with no luck. I am locked out of my online account and they will not contact me to settle this. I feel intimidated and scammed out of my money. This is wrong.

Consumer Complaint: On or around XX/XX/2023, I received a debt collection letter from Jefferson Capital claiming that I owe {$6100.00} to the XXXX XXXX XXXX I then called the Jefferson Capital and I told them that I do not recognize such debt because I have never ever opened such an account with XXXX XXXX XXXX. I then checked XXXX XXXX on which I found that this account exists in my credit file. It was someone else who apparantly used my identity and opened this account. I would like the law enforcement initiate an investigation on this fraudulent account and I also request that the credit report agencies remove this account that does not belong to me. Kind regards. Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX to go ontrip to XXXX, went to XXXX office to check if needed updates to my phone, they said I was all set, flying into XXXX XXXX I lost phone service for the entire trip. Returning home, I contacted them to complain about the matter, eventually I did talk to someone who claimed to be mgr of local office. He explained that I had been misinformed and they needed better training and he was sorry. I then cancelled my contract but they said I would still owe money, which I made clear I would not pay. they kept billing with added charges, I told them to sue instead they turned it over to collection agencies, eventually this Jefferson XXXX filed a claim of non payment which XXXX logged. For the years since I never heard anything back, maintaining an impeccable credit rating up to XXXX A couple of months ago purchased a new vehicle for my wife and things blew up with XXXX reporting to my credit union serious issue re : credit rating, damaging rating down to low 700s fortunately my dealer agreed to match original payments offer. XXXX has been less than helpful saying they are neutral while promoting new credit card offers to me constantly, strange dont you think? Please help me deal with this bogus event.
