Consumer Complaint: Around XXXX of XXXX I had a XXXX XXXX account that I was unable to pay and it went to collections. In XXXX of XXXX Jefferson Capital Systems listed the debt as new and my credit score went down drastically. I have disputed it twice with XXXX and it has not been corrected. It is a violation of law for a collection agency to report old past-due amounts as if they are new again when the debts are sold.Please adjust this on my credit report. Also, I paid off a loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX of XXXX and they reported the payment 30 days late. I made a satisfactory payment in XXXX of XXXX and paid the remainder of the loan in XX/XX/XXXX. I was not late in my payment. Please also have that removed. I have tried calling XXXX XXXX XXXX and they refuse to change the reporting information.

Consumer Complaint: JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEM ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) is a result of identity theft. I recently discovered through my new monitoring service this account being reported I made efforts to remove this account from my file as the amount of {$11000.00} does not belong to me. This account was fraudulently opened through this company in XX/XX/2019 an has been reported to the FTC and authorities as Identity theft. I have submitted all of my information needed to resolve this matter in this complaint and through the FTC report attached and do not feel comfortable giving any further information in any way to any others at this time due to the further possibilities of identity theft.

Consumer Complaint: To begin, I tried contacting XXXX XXXX to retrieve details on information on this credit account. They told me it had already been sent to collections with Jefferson Capital Systems , LLC, and that I would have to contact them directly to review and resolve my account. I also tried to login to XXXX XXXX website using my login information, and they have removed my access and account entirely which has refrained me from any access to review this credit account and details of information associated with my credit account. This account opening date is incorrect. The date listed that it was opened is on : XX/XX/XXXX. The correct opening date was on : XX/XX/XXXX. I also know that the amount owed is incorrect. I attempted to contact the company to dispute the errors on XX/XX/XXXX. When speaking with the representative, I tried to explain the errors of information that were incorrect on this credit account. The representative proceeded to not listen and continuously ask me how I was going to pay off my balance. We argued back and fourth. I told the representative that I wasnt calling to pay my balance, I told the representative that I was calling to dispute the errors. The representative would not listen or acknowledge what I was saying by completely ignoring my questions on dispute and instead aggressively asking when I would pay my balance. I finally said that I was not paying anything until the errors on my account were disputed. The representative proceeded to tell me that if I did not pay my balance that day, XX/XX/XXXX, that the representative could not guarantee that my credit report would not be further impacted from refusal to pay. I then proceeded to tell them that I wasnt refusing to pay, I corrected the representative by saying that I was refusing to pay until my dispute concerns regarding the incorrect information on my credit account were resolved. The representative then told me that if I do not pay by XXXX that day, XX/XX/XXXX, that my offer amount to resolve my account would not be valid and that it would further impact my credit negatively.

Consumer Complaint: I am getting repeated phone calls by Jefferson Capital. Jefferson Capital is masking their phone number to reflect an area code in " XXXX Florida '' where I'm from and have family & friends residing. Jefferson Capital is not located in Florida and they are masking their phone number with the hope of me or any 3rd party being tricked in answering the call. Furthermore, Jefferson Capital is calling 3rd parties in trying to contact me. Both tactics I just described confirms the knowingly & willingly act by Jefferson Capital violating my rights under the FDCRA & FCC. I previously sent Jefferson Capital a letter requesting for them to inform me in writing of what alleged debt they are trying to collect because I am unaware of any outstanding debt that I owe to any creditor. I also requested that if they are making any allegation of any outstanding debt that they are trying to collect to please provide me " validation of the debt '' & as of today 's date, they haven't provided me no validation of debt & continue to call me and 3rd parties. In closing, I am requesting that Jefferson Capital cease from calling me and any 3rd party. Furthermore, I will be filing a small claims lawsuit no later than XX/XX/2020, & today will be my only attempt to try and resolve this matter informally with Jefferson Capital before I file a lawsuit in small claims court. My lawsuit will be regarding the knowingly & willingly action ( s ) of Jefferson Capital violating my rights granted to me by the FDCRA & FCC. My lawsuit will be for {$2000.00} & the only communication I authorize Jefferson Capital to have with me is in writing & informing me if they agree to settle this matter informally. I do not know what this account is and has seen it on my credit report. The two main federal laws that apply here are the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). I have no idea of this account and have not received any valid information.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I was contacted by a collections agency regarding a delinquent debt with XXXX XXXX around {$110.00}. I told them I did not have any outstanding debts with XXXX and they had the wrong person. I followed up directly with XXXX XXXX, my cellphone provider, and XXXX XXXX validated that my account " has always been in good standing. '' Monday XX/XX/XXXX, at XXXX EST, I was contacted by " Jefferson Capital Systems '' headquartered in XXXX XXXX, Minnesota again on my personal cellphone number. The representatives name was XXXX and he was in calling from XXXX, XXXX. XXXX was collecting an outstanding debt as a result of a delinquent account held by XXXX XXXX in the amount around {$110.00}. I insisted that this was not my debt, stated I already told them the last representative this in XX/XX/XXXX, I had previously called XXXX to make certain my account was in good standing, and " Jefferson Capital Systems must stop calling me concerning an outstanding this debt with XXXX. '' XXXX pressed me to validate my date of birth and last four of my Social Security Numbers. I refused three times because I am not legally required tto do this, he is a stranger, and this debt collection is illegitimate & not mine. XXXX said he would read the last four Social Security numbers of the person responsible for the debt. I said that is illegal for him to do. I do not want to know their social security numbers, and I want nothing to do with this. I told him stop calling me. XXXX then said the only way the calling can stop is for him to read the last four social security numbers aloud to me and I had to say whether they were mine or not. If not mine, then and only then, I would stop receiving debt collection calls from " Jefferson Capital Systems concerning outstanding this debt with XXXX. '' I reluctantly agreed. XXXX read out loud the last four Social Security Numbers. I stated : " No. Those are NOT my last four Social Security numbers and you must stop calling me. '' He agreed to stop calling me. Consumer Complaint: I was told by this company this was a very unique situation. The previous answers I gave to get to this point are NOT the reason I'm contacting you. On Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX I was informed by my employer they would no long be able to use my services after 10 years of employment due to a garnishment by Jefferson Capital Systems , LLC, phone number XXXX or XXXX. I called Jefferson this day and was told they were about to close and call back tomorrow which I did and talked to XXXX who answered the phone. He said he was not a lawyer. I explained losing my job due to this garnishment, he said this was unique circumstances that he wasn't familiar with and went and consulted with some other people. ( I don't know who. ) He came back with two options both involving very BIG payment of thousands of dollars and said that was all they were able to do. I told him there was no way I could do that and isn't there anything else they can do. I was willing to make payments but I couldn't if I wasn't working and wouldn't something be better than nothing. He said this was their policy and if they changed it for me they would have to change it for everyone which made absolutely no sense to me. They made the rules they should be able to change them. I told him in that case I guess we're both just screwed. He said I guess so and that we were only rehashing the conversation and was ready to end the conversation. This made no sense to me and I asked to speak to the lawyer who did the garnishment. He finally agreed to that and put me through to her voicemail. I asked for her number directly and he said they weren't allowed to do that for some reason. He didn't know why. I left a voicemail for the lawyer ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) explaining the situation and how now I was out of a job. She never called me back. I called the next day and XXXX answered again. I told him XXXX didn't call me back and he seemed irritated and tried to get ahold of her. It just went to voicemail again. I asked him if he could please write a note and get it to her so she will call me back. He sounded irritated ( not with me ) and said he would personally give the note to her supervisor to give to her so she'll call me back. This was Friday. She never called back. They are looking for {$7300.00} and wanted payments of {$250.00} when this initially happened XX/XX/XXXX. I told them then I couldn't do that as I'm a contract worker and my work isn't always steady. But I wanted to start paying something like {$100.00} a month until things financially got better. They again, would not work with me so I didn't know what to do. I've explained to them that I know they pay pennies on the dollar for these write-off credit card bills and wasn't getting something better than getting nothing? Nobody will call me back. I feel something is very suspicious with this company. I have NEVER had a creditor who wouldn't work with me and they always got their money paid by working with me. I need help. Again, as I said, I am out of a job now. I have other bills that need paid. And the fact that they won't even call me back is infuriating. XXXX told me they couldn't lift the garnishment because it was in garnishment and there was nothing they could do. When I questioned him on if they placed the garnishment can't they cancel it he said something about that not being their policy. Again, that was when he pushed me to the voicemail of the lawyer who just will NOT call me back. I think this company not only needs looked into for predatory practices and unfair, unprofessional behavior but also let them know that an unemployed person isn't helping anybody. I want to set something up for repayment but I am getting no cooperation and, again, until the lift this garnishment I have no job. Thank you.
