Consumer Complaint: I received an attempt to collect a debt in the amount of {$5400.00} letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX. The letter clearly stated " Unless you notify this office within 30 days after receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of the debt or any portion thereof, the office will assume this debt is valid ''. This clearly means that prior to that 30 days, the office should not assume that the debt is valid yet on XX/XX/XXXX, I received a credit monitoring alert that I had a new collection account which was reported by the company unlawfully and to make matters worse ; the item is showing as a collection item under the name Jefferson Capital System ( a company I have NEVER had communication with nor has an attempt been made to contact me ) and falsely reporting that the account was opened on XX/XX/XXXX. The letter further states that " If you notify this office in writing within 30 days from receiving this notice, that the debt or any portion thereof is disputed, this office will obtain verification of the debt or obtain a copy of a judgment and mail a copy of such judgement or verification ''. Please be advised I have requested VALIDATION { not verification } ( Notarized and mailed via USPS Within The 30 Days of XX/XX/XXXX ) of an item sold to XXXX by the original creditor/collection agency. I have received a response that clearly violates my rights. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), you are required by federal law to verify - through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract - any and all accounts you post on a credit report. Otherwise, anyone paying for your reporting services could fax, mail or email in a fraudulent account. I demand to see Verifiable Proof ( an original Consumer Contract with my Signature on it ) you have on file of the accounts listed below. Your failure to positively verify these accounts has hurt my ability to obtain credit. Under the FCRA, unverified accounts must be removed and if you are unable to provide me a copy of verifiable proof, you must remove the above mentioned accounts.

Consumer Complaint: I have only had XXXX XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX . I had XXXX XXXX since the XXXX 's. Then switched to XXXX XXXX XXXX when I moved to XXXX XXXX in XXXX, I moved back to XXXX in XXXX and started with XXXX then back to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was checking out my Credit report a few years ago and noticed there was a bunch of addresses, phone numbers, names, inquiries, & debts. I clicked on all the stuff that wasn't mine like XXXX. Time past, I forgot about it. I was able to get a free credit look through different places. I called XXXX and disputed a bunch of stuff. Nothing got removed. I would keep getting people from the XXXX. I called XXXX. I gave them my SSN, the agent said the name and address was not under XXXX or the address he gave me was not mine. I called XXXX again, and spoke with someone who managed to get some stuff off. The XXXX finally was gone. about 6 months ago I noticed there was inquires that was not mine. I called and spoke with someone who spoke English. She got rid of all the stuff that was not mine. then a few months later a new debt was there. It seemed that XXXX XXXX bought XXXX and now they reported it. I dug through all my bank statements. I was able to go as far back as XXXX. I highlighted my XXXX XXXX XXXX payments. I told them that I couldn't have lived in two places at the same time and have two different phone bills. It didn't make sense. Even with the proof, I called XXXX XXXX, they had not go one call from XXXX to check if that account belonged to me. They said they would have a record. I mailed the same proof to XXXX XXXX to dispute this. They say send supporting evidence, and I do and they still will not remove this. If you look at my credit, it was good then you can see where XXXX came out of nowhere. The XXXX dropped off and now it's like they found a loophole to keep putting a debt back on a credit report after statues of Limitations. This sounds illegal. It's not even mine. I don't know what else to do. The police can't do anything except make a report. My wallet was stolen at the beach at one time. I don't remember when exactly. I lost my passport many years ago. I reported this all.

Consumer Complaint: I contacted Jefferson Capitol System by phone and mail that it I could have opened an account with XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$4100.00} on XX/XX/XXXX because I had a XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and I was not physically or mentally capable to open any account. I do have medical records to prove it. I asked them to close that immediately. They have not.

Consumer Complaint: I retrieved a copy of my credit report and found a new collection account listed. Jeff Cap Sys hasn't contacted me via email nor mail to inform of this new account which is a violation of the fdcpa law. Also, they are reporting a monthly obligation of XXXX on a collection account with a balance of XXXX which I have never spoken with this company to agree to any type of monthly obligation. I've requested Jeff Cap Sys to validate this file showing I owe the amount they're reporting to my credit every month but I haven't received a response. I don't owe this debt and this company is intentionally breaking the law by reporting a monthly obligation for a collection account. I'm needing assistance with holding this collection agency accountable for breaking several consumer reporting laws. You can not report a collection as an open account with a monthly obligation and you guys won't validate.

Consumer Complaint: In approximately the summer of 2017 I received a collection notice for over {$800.00} for a XXXX XXXX bill. I have never used XXXX XXXX ( my company phone is XXXX now, but even that is new this year ). I contacted the collection agency and advised them. They told me I needed to call XXXX. I did, and XXXX confirmed that whatever it was that was ordered was ordered using my social security number and my address but a different email address than any I have used. They said it was strange because it was a phone but the service was never activated. Further, that phone or whatever it was never was delivered to my home. They confirmed that it looked like fraud to them as well. They asked me if I could file a police report, but I pulled my credit report and given that it was the ONLY item on my credit report I felt that filing a police report wasn't going to get me anywhere. What would the police do for one item on my credit report with ZERO information about who might have done it to go on. So I simply advised XXXX that I wanted to dispute the account as it was not mine. Then they sold the debt to : JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEM XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MN I immediately notified them by mail that this was not my account, that XXXX KNEW this was not my account, and that it was the result of fraud. No response. They placed it on my credit report ( which XXXX never had ). I disputed it with all three bureaus and explained the situation in detail along with my dispute. They each did their investigation ( whatever that means ) and Jefferson Capital stood by their reporting. This is NOT my account. It has NEVER been my account. I have NEVER received anything from XXXX nor used XXXX in any way, and this is unjustly harming my credit. Please contact Jefferson and have them remove this listing as it has nothing to do with me.
