Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2020 I noticed an alert on my credit file from Jefferson capital systemXX/XX/XXXX wireless. Its a collection saying I owe them {$1000.00}. I immediately tried to contact them. I filed a dispute with XX/XX/XXXX the same day of the alert to get it removed from my account. On XXXX/XXXX/2020 the file was only updated. This is not my account. It's taking a toll on my credit score. That's not right. Please help me resolve this matter.

Consumer Complaint: I noticed on my credit report a company called Jefferson Capital System. Looking into it further, the debt is from XXXX XXXX XXXX for a loan. I have never had a loan with this company, nor have I ever had a loan with any company. The loan was obtained on XX/XX/2015. During this time, I was in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and had no access to be able to obtain a loan. I have no knowledge of this loan.

Consumer Complaint: I received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX in an attempt to collect a debt in the amount of {$5700.00}. The letter clearly stated " Unless you notify this office within 30 days after receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of the debt or any portion thereof, the office will assume this debt is valid ''. This clearly means that prior to that 30 days, the office should not assume that the debt is valid yet on XX/XX/XXXX, I received a credit monitoring alert that I had a new collection account before I even received the letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX. This was reported by the company unlawfully and to make matters worse ; the item is showing as a collection item under the name Jefferson Capital System ( a company I have NEVER had communication with nor has an attempt been made to contact me ) and falsely reporting that the account was opened on XX/XX/XXXX. The letter further states that " If you notify this office in writing within 30 days from receiving this notice, that the debt or any portion thereof is disputed, this office will obtain verification of the debt or obtain a copy of a judgment and mail a copy of such judgement or verification ''. Please be advised I have requested VALIDATION { not verification } ( Notarized and Emailed on XX/XX/XXXX -- Still Within The 30 Days of XX/XX/XXXX ) of an item sold to XXXX XXXX XXXX by the original creditor/collection agency. I have received a response that clearly violates my rights. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), you are required by federal law to verify - through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract - any and all accounts you post on a credit report. Otherwise, anyone paying for your reporting services could fax, mail or email in a fraudulent account. I demand to see Verifiable Proof ( an original Consumer Contract with my Signature on it ) you have on file of the accounts listed below. Your failure to positively verify these accounts has hurt my ability to obtain credit. Under the FCRA, unverified accounts must be removed and if you are unable to provide me a copy of verifiable proof, you must remove the above mentioned accounts.

Consumer Complaint: After reviewing a recent copy of my credit I came to the realization I have become a victim of identity theft. I recently have submitted ( Identity theft report number # XXXX XXXX which included accounts 1. XXXX # XXXX, 2. XXXX XXXX # XXXX, 3. Jefferson Capital Systems # XXXX 4. XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX. I have reached out to all major consumer reporting agencies including XXXX XXXX and XXXX It has been over 30 days and as per the Fair Credit Reporting Act these fraudulent accounts must be deleted without 100 % accurate verification. Jefferson Capital Systems has violated my consumer rights and the Fair Debt Collection Practice act by continuing to report fraudulent established accounts to my credit file after being notified by the credit bureau. In addition, sections 605b, 609, and 611 have also been violated under the FCRA. The fraudulent accounts still remain reporting on my credit file and is a clear violation. I have completed and submitted 2 identity theft reports to the credit bureaus and Jefferson Capital Systems continues to still report this fraudulent account to the bureaus. I have no recollection nor recall opening or establishing any of these accounts listed above.

On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXXsaid they got notification that debt was sold. I contacted Jefferson Capital to see if they would send information about account being paid, not sold. Consumer Complaint: I received notification from a company called jefferson capital systems LLC requesting payment of {$230.00}. the debt is not mines and dated/charged off period of XXXX reporting the negative mark was well within their right, even if it damages my credit standing. As granted by the fair debt collection practices act, I've also fulfilled my right to dispute this debt. Today, with the account being closed ; I see no other reason for their tradeline to remain on my file accept to maltreat, harass etc.
