Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: It is bewildering to note that while other credit bureaus have diligently conducted their investigations and corrected the inaccuracies on my credit report, your bureau seems to be lagging behind. The disparity in reporting among credit bureaus has created confusion and frustration, as I am left to grapple with inconsistent and erroneous information that is negatively impacting my credit standing. I was the victim and Im not sure why the CRA is not complying with the law. The other bureaus have followed suit. Im very confused why this one seems to ignore my requests. I insist that your bureau immediately rectify the reporting of late payment dates to accurately reflect the status of the accounts. Other bureaus have successfully acknowledged and corrected their errors, and it is imperative that your bureau follows suit to ensure fair and accurate reporting. The presence of conflicting information on my credit report, particularly regarding late payment dates, is not only misleading but also damaging to my financial reputation. I demand a swift and thorough investigation into this matter, with the immediate removal of the inaccuracies and the updating of late payment dates to accurately reflect the current status of the accounts. CITIZENS BANK XXXXXXXX -PLEASE UPDATE!!! I am requesting that the late payment markings be updated to reflect my accurate payment history. CITIZENS ONE HOME LOANS XXXX XXXX- PLEASE UPDATE!!! I am requesting that the late payment markings be updated to reflect my accurate payment history. I understand that errors can occur in the investigation process, but it is essential that your bureau takes immediate action to correct these discrepancies in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). I insist on receiving written confirmation of the resolution and the updated credit report without any further delay.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: I am a part of a class action lawsuit now against a security alarm company XXXX due to my credit report being used to provide services to someone whose credit was not sufficient enough. I am filing a complaint against a company XXXX used also under my name for their equipment which is Citizens One who says I owe a balance for service I never knew about nor authorized nor did I give permission to pull my credit. I was informed today that it was done by the sales representative through XXXX that all they needed was my name, DOB, and social security number and that is just how easy it was to put service in my name. Today when speaking with a male from Citizens One to tell them that I my credit report was misused by XXXX to establish service under my name and I wanted charges that Citizens One also established in my name under XXXX to be removed the representative told me I had to talk to the XXXX XXXX XXXX. I asked for an account number and balance so that I could include it in a complaint to the FTC to also investigate Citizens One since they are in with XXXX on how all this happened the representative said he could only see that I needed to speak with another department. I asked for the address to Citizens One corporate office and the representative refused stating that he was submitting a complaint to the XXXX XXXX XXXX and someone would call me soon. I dont owe this debt and with Citizens One also my credit report was misused for a Citizens One Loan both Citizens One and XXXX for XXXX XXXX equipment.

Issue: Trouble during payment process
Subissue: Payment process
Consumer Complaint: We drew our HELOC in XXXX. First interest payment was due XXXX. Old bank account was linked to Citizens and payment failed. I called to ask for help getting new payment method set up and payment submitted. They helped me set up autopay, not to cover the now late payment. Got a notice it was overdue - husband called on XX/XX/XXXX and gave new bank account information and submitted payment verbally. Got a notice on XX/XX/XXXX that didnt go through. Spent 90 minutes on the phone with customer service over 4 separate phone calls including : XXXX different stories on why payment on XX/XX/XXXX didn't go through ( bank account closed, bad account number given, improperly submitted online ) all of which they later acknowledged weren't true refusal to put us through to a manager Attempt at convincing us to NOT request the tapes for our prior phone calls inability to explain how we now owe over {$1400.00} in interest payments on a {$900.00} payment. Couldn't explain rate, when it accrued etc. This seems like they are tryin to get us to miss a payment so they can charge us unfair and exceptionally high interest rates.

Issue: Trouble during payment process
Subissue: Escrow, taxes, or insurance
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, Citizens Bank sent me an XXXX Account XXXX statement alerting me that my monthly escrow payment is going to increase to {$4400.00} ( more than triple what it should be ). The home is a new build and the PIN is in process of being split by XXXX XXXX. The end of year escrow analysis done by the bank failed to account for this and I am now being asked to escrow more than what is supposed to be. As a result of this error, my monthly mortgage payment is increasing by over {$3000.00}. I can not afford this. They are asking me to escrow as if my yearly property taxes are {$51000.00} which is incorrect ; my yearly property taxes should be no more than {$16000.00}. I have spent several hours on the phone, over XXXX separate occasions trying to get them to freeze/undo the escrow increase. Each time I call, they give me a different timeline on when a resolution will be reached. I called Citizens on each of the resolution dates given, but each time, nothing changes. Every time I call, I end up talking to someone in their tax department and they seem to be incapable of following through and doing what they say they will do in order to fix the situation. They are fully aware of the situation and have told me that this increase is not my fault ; they have acknowledged that the escrow amount they are now asking for is incorrect. All I need is for someone over there to change my monthly escrow payment back to {$1300.00}. This situation is causing undue financial hardship to me and my family.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from Citizens Bank asking about some recent charges. I verified that the charges were not made by me. While on the phone with the agent I decided to log into my account. There was one more charge for {$600.00} that I was asked about and I once again stated no, I dont recognize the amount. The agent then sent me a code via text and asked me to repeat it back once I received it. I did. Then he told me to text the word yes to verify the charge was fraudulent...... I did. To my surprise I saw {$600.00} vanish from my account. I tried to speak up, the agent said no worries the money will appear back in my account within the hour. I knew I had been duped. The criminal had opened a XXXX account and stole my money. Since that time I have filed a complaint with Citizens Bank and talked with them numerous times. They refused to reimburse me as they said I authorized the charge. I visited my local branch, they were no help. I filed a police report and 2 complaints with the attorney generals office. I continue to fight to get my money back. I am XXXX XXXX XXXX, recently retired. I simply can not afford to lose money. I hope someone on your end can help
