Consumer Complaint: Dear sir/madame, This is not a duplicate complaint, I am providing new information. Citibank keeps holding my money since XX/XX/XXXX without any explanations. After multiple escalations, including attorney general of New York state, Citibank replied on XX/XX/XXXX, that they now can't locate the wire and asked to provide wire transfer references ( despite the fact it was provided multiple times previously ), which I did. And Citibank again went on mute, simply ignoring mutiple requests from the remitting party ( eXXXX and XXXX XXXX ) as well as my inquiries. Attaching all the documentation here again, hope this will help moving the needle. It is more than a year now that I'm trying to get my well earned money back to my account in the US at eXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: This bank has double charged me {$270.00} back in XXXX. I filed a dispute with them, and they credited my account for that amount. Since then my account has been XXXX on 9 separate occasions. Thats a total of - {$2400.00}. I brought it to their attention, their response was that they only see one transaction for that amount, after I have provided documentation showing proof of their mistake. This bank only wants to make money off their consumers with providing little to no help at all!

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: To Whom It May Concern : I am writing to vehemently dispute the charged-off account and inaccurate reporting associated with the above-referenced account number XXXX, as reported by Citicards CNBA. Upon reviewing my credit report, I discovered that the account was reported as charged off, which needs to be corrected. It should be noted that the account in question was included in a XXXX XXXX bankruptcy filing ; however, the focus of this dispute is not related to the bankruptcy itself. I vehemently dispute the accuracy of the charged-off account and assert that the reporting is fundamentally flawed. By taking a write-off for the previous debt, Citicards CNBA effectively exploits public tax dollars to assist with the write-off. This action constitutes a form of public assistance. Moreover, my requirement to file the discharged debt as income on my tax return falls under the income statute, which should exempt this debt from being reported on my credit report. In addition, I have yet to receive Form 1099-C ( Cancellation of Debt ) from Citicards CNBA , which contravenes the Internal Revenue Service ( IRS ) regulations under section 6050P of the Internal Revenue Code. Regardless, I have dutifully filed the discharged debt as income on my tax return, as mandated by the IRS. Citicards CNBA failure to provide the 1099-C constitutes a breach of the IRS tax code, and it has come to my attention that you have taken a write-off for the debt in question. It is crucial to emphasize that income is not required to be reported on a consumer report under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Section 605 ( a ) ( 4 ) of the FCRA explicitly states that consumer reporting agencies may not include any information in a consumer report that pertains to " receipt of public assistance benefits. '' I assert that the income reported on my tax return, which encompasses the discharged debt, qualifies as public assistance benefits and is therefore exempt from reporting on my consumer report. I demand that you provide documentation supporting the validity and accuracy of the reported information, including any signed agreements that establish the debt and any other pertinent information. I insist that you investigate this matter and verify the following : 1. The accurate reporting of the charged-off account on my credit report, considering that I have filed the discharged debt as income on my tax return despite not receiving a 1099-C from Citicards CNBA 2. The validity of the reporting of the charged-off account. Should the investigation reveal inaccuracies in reporting the charged-off account, I expect you to remove the account promptly. I request that you provide me with the 1099-C you neglected to issue, as required by the IRS regulations . I demand that you respond to this dispute within 30 days, as mandated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Failure to comply may result in further actions, including filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) and seeking legal counsel. I await your prompt attention to this matter.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to file a complaint against Macy 's for imposing illegal credit protection charges on my account that I did not sign up for. These charges have varied between {$60.00} to over $ 100 monthly and have caused me significant financial hardship. I recently discovered these unauthorized charges while going through my account statement, and I am shocked and dismayed that Macy 's would engage in such unlawful and unethical practices. I did not request any credit protection services from Macy 's, nor did I authorize any such charges on my account. I am deeply concerned that Macy 's is taking advantage of its customers by imposing these charges without their knowledge or consent. This is a clear violation of consumer protection laws, and I urge you to take immediate action to stop Macy 's from continuing this illegal and unfair practice. I request that you investigate this matter thoroughly and hold Macy 's accountable for the harm it has caused me and potentially other customers. I also request that you compel Macy 's to refund all the credit protection charges that they have imposed on my account without my consent.

Consumer Complaint: I was recently reviewing my credit card statements as I was checking for any odd charges and I noticed that I had never gotten or was generated a statement for XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX. I spoke via live chat on Citi.com on XX/XX/XXXX and was told that " There's no transaction done so a statement couldn't be generated '' however a payment on the account for a balance count as a transaction and this also can be demonstrated by the statement that was generated for me on XX/XX/XXXX which had no purchases but two payments that counts as a transaction and generated the statement.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX fraudulent charges appeared on citi card. XXXX for {$190.00} from XXXX and XXXX for {$190.00} from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I immediately reported the charges as fraudulent. My card was closed and a new card number was issued to me. I recieved security credits for the fraudulent charges along with a new card in the mail within a reasonable amount of time. On XX/XX/XXXX, before I had even recieved my new card in the mail, XXXX of the same XXXX merchants was able to charge my card for an identical amount. The charge was {$190.00} from XXXX. I have reported this fraudulent charge to citi numerous times over the last couple of months. Each time I'm given a new explanation for why citi has failed to properly open a dispute into this fraudulent charge. Most recently, on XX/XX/XXXX, I spoke to a representative who said that her colleagues must have failed to open a dispute under the correct card number. I told her that I didn't think this was correct, but she refused to listen to me. She assured me that she knew what she was doing and that I would see the open investigation in my online " Dispute Center '' shortly. This, of course, was untrue. I have given up attempting to resolve this issue with citi because of the poor customer service I have received and my lack of faith that any of its representatives know how to resolve my problem.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: I have had a checking account with Citi for over 40 years. In XX/XX/2022, I mailed a personal check for {$93.00} to the water company but it was stolen out of the mail. That check was washed and the amount was changed to {$5600.00} and the recipient was changed to the name of a lady. The check was then cashed and, despite how clearly fraudulent the check appeared, Citi mistakenly paid out that larger amount and took those funds from my checking account. I immediately notified Citi and have been trying for EIGHT months to get back those stolen funds. I have a copy of the washed check and it is a mystery how it could possibly have been considered authentic. How could their electronic fraud detection system not have flagged the check as questionable? I have spoken with their representatives innumerable times. I have filled out forms and affidavits repeatedly. I have sent copies of the washed check, information I found online about the lady who cashed the check, and whatever other information they have requested. They have filled out new case numbers again and again - and nothing has happened. They are claiming that they are waiting for some paperwork back from the XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, where the check was apparently cashed. But they have told me that repeatedly since about XX/XX/2022. I have asked my branch bank representative if he could help ; he says no. I have written emails to the executive offices repeatedly. They have connected me to the Citi Executive Response Team, with which I have spoken repeatedly. This process is stuck. It has been eight months. What can I do to resolve this situation and get back that {$5600.00}? It is shocking that Citi would delay that repayment. What would happen if I were someone who needed those funds to pay my rent?? There must be some steps I can take to resolve this issue. Thank you so much for any suggestions you might have. XXXX XXXX
