Consumer Complaint: Very maliciously and intentionally, Citibank SearsCard arranged to have a secure message notification sent to me at the beginning of the XXXX XXXX Holiday Weekend. The notification was sent shortly before XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX The notification stated that it would expire on XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. First, it is unlikely that an employee created the message close to XXXX but someone in the corporate executive office purposely programmed the message only to be available during the national holiday period in RETALIATION for my previous complaints against Citibank SearsCard. Like so many other patriotic Americans, I celebrated and memorialized our dedicated veterans during XXXX XXXX, and, did not check my emails during this time. When I tried to access the secured message the day after XXXX XXXX it was gone. It is wrong for Citibank to allow only three days to access a message. Even more so restricting access only to a three-day national holiday. Even worse, is the anonymous, unnamed, cowardly employee retaliating against an XXXX who complains about Citibank.

Consumer Complaint: My wife and I ordered a dining room table and eight all wood chairs from XXXX XXXX in XXXX Texas, the Merchant on XX/XX/XXXX for {$2600.00}. At the time the order was placed, XXXX of the balance due was paid with with our Citi credit card. Approximately XXXX week later, XXXX requested the remainder of the balance with the promise to deliver the table and chairs prior to XXXX. We paid the balance of the order on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX did not deliver the products on time. XXXX said that the table and chairs would be available the first week of XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX we drove to XXXX XXXX in XXXX to pickup our table and chairs. When we arrived, only the table was ready and Merchant said the chairs would be ready and would be delivered to our home within a week. After numerous text messages, Merchant delivered incorrect chairs on XX/XX/XXXX with the promise to return in a couple of weeks with the correct all wood chairs. After multiple promises to deliver the correct chairs, the correct chairs were not and to this day have not been delivered. Merchant has refused to pickup the incorrect chairs. Since we did receive the correct table, on XX/XX/XXXX we disputed the cost of the chairs, {$480.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX we received a response from Citi Bank denying our dispute based on information provide by Merchant and his bank, XXXX. The information from XXXX included with the letter in no way addressed the matter at dispute, that the incorrect product was delivered. In Citi 's XX/XX/XXXX letter, they requested confirmation that we have not received the correct product. On XX/XX/XXXX, I provided this information to Citi and included a text message exchange with XXXX of XXXX XXXX indicating that he agreed that he had not delivered the correct chairs and that he did not intend on taking return of the incorrect chairs. On XX/XX/XXXX, Citi requested documentation of the product ordered and the incorrect product and again requested proof of return. On XX/XX/XXXX, I provided a copy of the sales receipt showing all wood chairs were ordered, a picture of the chairs ordered and a picture of the chairs delivered. I further referred Citi to the text where merchant had refused to take the return. On XX/XX/XXXX, Citi again denied my dispute because they had not received proof of return. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called Citi to explain that Merchant has refused to take the returns and followed up with an email the following day. On XX/XX/XXXX, Citi again denied my dispute. In summary, we did not receive the chairs that we ordered, and we contacted XXXX XXXX numerous times to correct the issue. When the cost of the chairs were disputed, Citi Bank denied our return based on the fact that we have not returned the incorrect chairs even though Merchant has, in writing, refused to take the incorrect product.

Consumer Complaint: My initial complaint was the following : I signed up for auto payment, which I had set up to pay the previous statement balance on the date due. My previous statement balance was {$1200.00}, and was due on XX/XX/23. I decided to manually pay it a few days prior, and on XX/XX/23, the full payment of {$1200.00} posted to my account, and the auto payment should have been cancelled. Auto payment did not successfully cancel, and they tried to take it out of my account again on the XXXX, but was returned because I had already made the payment, and I was hit with a {$30.00} return check fee. I contacted customer service right away, and they said I would get a refund for that fee, since auto payment should not have tried to go through. I waited a few days, and after not seeing a refund, I contacted them again, and this time I was told I needed to wait for it to be posted to my statement before I could get the refund. So I waited an entire month, and as soon as it posted to my statement, I reached out again, but this time I am told its a valid fee, and it will not be refunded. This was a mistake on their end since auto payment should not have gone through. I received a response saying my request was declined due to me updating auto payment after making the initial payment, and that an email was sent confirming I made an update for the auto payment to go through. Please provide a copy of this email, because I have no record of it, nor did I update autopay. The only update to autopay I made was to cancel it, because of this.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I made a purchase to a store called XXXX XXXX online. The amount was for {$21.00} and another {$30.00} in points that I have accumulated on my credit card. When I receive the merchandise it was not as described so I returned it immediately. XXXX XXXX told me they do not give refunds just store credit. I found that to be unacceptable. I contacted the disputes department and told them I wanted my money back. After months of them, wasting my time, they finally sent me a message telling me they could not help me. When I called to discuss why the customer service representative told me that the company agreed to give me my money back if they just supplied them with the proper information. Which is the exact opposite of what their letter told me. I can not believe that they are going to ruin our relationship with me considering that I spend about {$3000.00} a month on this card. I just want my {$53.00} back. I have never dealt with such incompetent people. This is the second time Ive had an issue with them on a dispute.

Consumer Complaint: This is in regards to billing dispute reference number XXXX at Citi. The details captured by Citi regarding the dispute are inaccurate, leading to an incorrect decision. I called on two separate occasions to clarify the events that led to this dispute, and it was still captured by Citi Disputes department incorrectly. I also submitted an executive complaint yesterday regarding this matter. The dispute was NOT a duplicate charge as stated by Citi. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received the text message attached and titled " text message XXXX '' asking if I attempted the purchase that I am disputing. I replied " 1 '' to indicate that it was me. Citi declined the transaction and advised me to retry. Not only did I receive this text message, but I also called Citi later on the evening of XX/XX/23 to ensure that repurchasing the tickets was the correct thing to do. I was advised to repurchase the tickets by the agent. So, I did. Several days later, I noticed that the original transaction had actually gone through, even though Citi had advised that it was declined. This is the nature of my dispute. I have been charged for two sets of three concert tickets. I received both sets of three. However, I only intended to purchase one set of three. Now, I have explained this scenario to Citi a minimum of 4 different times. I have also tried to call XXXX XXXX as advised by Citi. XXXX XXXX advised that they were going to put in a request to refund the money to be resolved within three business days, and I never received a resolution. When I tried to call them back, I could not get through to an agent, because my concert was not that night. The amount of time and effort I have already spent on trying to make this right is way too much. This is either 1 ) Citi 's fault for telling me that they declined a purchase that was actually approved or 2 XXXX XXXX XXXX 's fault for re-submitting a purchase that was declined by Citi. This charge is NOT my responsibility. Given that the concert is Saturday ( in 3 days ), and I am just now learning of this outcome, I have attempted to sell this set of tickets. I listed for higher than my purchase price, and have sold two tickets. However, due to XXXX XXXX fees, I will be receiving less per ticket than I actually paid per ticket. The amount I expect to net on the sale is between {$1000.00} and {$1100.00}, although it still has not hit my bank account yet. I would like for Citi to credit me for the difference due to the gross mishandling of this dispute ( total amount of the dispute is over {$2100.00} ). Then, they can take this matter up further with XXXX XXXX as they desire.

Consumer Complaint: My credit card was compromised on XX/XX/16 XXXX by XXXX. Citi gave me a new number and I continued to use this card. However, Citi has not credited all of these amounts. The statement that I received yesterday states that I owe {$3400.00} and I only purchased XXXX, leaving a balance not owed of {$3400.00} that I do NOT owe. I have continued to pay for my purchases since the original dates, but Citi either has not credited my account or gave the credit to someone else. After many calls and responses, Citi has not corrected my account. This includes 3 calls with my banker at 2 to 3 hours each. Two times this past year I was told that I didn't owe anything. I have read Citi 's response, but simple arithmetic says that all of my purchases have been paid and I still owe over XXXX XXXX dollars.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a pre-qualified offer for Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Credit Card. Since I fly on the XXXX XXXX often and the card presented appealing benefits on par with some of my other cards, I decided to apply. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a denial letter with the reason stating that my name came up as a match on a list administered by the US Treasury 's OFAC and that I am subject of sanctions. As an XXXX who has lived in the United States for over 22 years, this caused a great deal of emotional distress as I had to call multiple federal agencies to confirm that I am not indeed on the OFAC nor that my name in anyway should have come up. I tried to call Citi to clarify this issue and was shifted between departments until ultimately the call was dropped. An accusation such as this is not only emotionally damning, but even any reference to this can negatively impact an XXXX in the United States and the fact that the bank has no recourse for this is absolutely unacceptable.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Charged too much interest
Consumer Complaint: This issue is regarding Home Depot Credit Card website ( run by Citibank online ), on the payments section. When making payments, there are multiple options to select a precalculated payment amount. XXXX option is " Amount to Avoid Interest '', which it would seem to imply that if you pay this amount you won't be charged any interest. I have used this option multiple times to make a payment yet, I continued to be charged interest. As of XX/XX/2023 I've been charged over {$800.00} in interest XXXX, despite using this feature to avoid paying interest. I called customer service and they explained that this option only applies to " promotional balances '', but it doesn't include any revolving balances. However, there is no indication or disclaimer on the site that explains this particular detail, despite other options on this menu having " explainers ''. This option seems to be intentionally misleading to the customer because it doesn't indicate what would be a sufficient amount to actually avoid paying interest. Because even if XXXX, as a savvy customer, were to assume this amount referred to the promotional balance, if XXXX were to add the total amount of the revolving balance, that won't be sufficient to avoid the interest because this payment will likely be applied to the promotional balance, and the customer will be charged interest. XXXX will have to call another department so that they allocate that extra payment properly.
