Consumer Complaint: Citibank card raised my credit limit then they lowered my limit. They are giving me fees on top of that for reaching my credit. They are hurting my credit score and refuse to work with me even though most of my payments have been on time. I also have not been notified of the credit limit change and have had to find out when I tried to use my card I paid it down by XXXX XX/XX/XXXX and they lowered my limit by XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, while I was in another country and it really put me in a bind. Its ridiculous that they are hurting my credit even though my account should be paid down and far from the credit limit.

Consumer Complaint: After receiving at least a dozen direct mail solicitations to open a Citi XXXX XXXX Savings Account, i opened a new account thru their online process, and funded a {$50000.00} deposit XX/XX/2023. After the passage of 90 days, I was to receive a promotional credit of XXXX American Aadvantage bonus miles. I have called and emailed them inquiring of the status, no miles received - and pretty much impossible to get any communication at all going with them. After i have spent 40 years in the financial services industry, i believe my understanding of the way a relationship of this nature should work. I have re-read their mailer closely, and believe i have complied with their program. If i missed something, it should be considered a XXXX violation. I can supply an image of the mailer if needed.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: To begin i routinely transfer funds from my XXXX banking account to Citi bank. XXXX receives all my direct deposits from my employer because of the early direct deposits. I got paid on the XXXX the usual 2 day before payday on the XXXX. - On the XXXX I initiated a {$1000.00} transfer from XXXX to my citi savings account. Because it was a holiday the amount did not appear on the " on deposit " tab it still remained the current balance. So i tried to initiate a transfer with my checking to see if the " on deposit " amount will be added and nothing showed up. I assumed because it was a holiday it wont appear that day. That Wednesday i thought to check in and see what's the status because I received a 2 notification that 2 transfers were initiated. The first on went through to my citi bank savings and the savings account showed the on deposit amount {$1000.00} higher than the available balance which is usually what happens then after I wait a couple days and the full amount will be available. Unfortunately .I forgot i did the saame thing with my checkin and that day my balance was a negative {$970.00}. That second notification from XXXX was an alert that the transfer was declined as i usually only put whatever amount i want to transfer from that pay period. I was unsure on how to cancel an initiated transfer so I thought nothing of it and it resulted in this. - This morning on XX/XX/02 I woke up to an email that my account will be closed in the next 60days saying " Hi, XXXX. We periodically review customer accounts and assess account activity. Based on a recent review of your XXXX Account account, we found that you have violated the terms of your account per the client manual. '' I was on the phone with different people for 4 hrs. all telling me the same thing no real information and that its in investigation and once its closed they will mail a check within 60days -.I then found an number for their executive response team and opened up a case with them but no real answers today. They just said they ; ; have a response within 15 calendar days. - I don't know what to do. All of my money over XXXX is in my Citi savings with no access. I don't know what's going on and I don't have any real answers at the moment just being told to wait. I use this account to live my everyday life and pay bills i can not survive waiting i am extremely stressed and worried and would love any help on this.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: I have had, for 30 years, a Citi Business MasterCard. In my XXXX statement here was a charge of {$59.00} for XXXX. I checked and two previous charges were sent through, one for {$1.00} and another {$59.00} No phone number was attached to the charge. It was a scam, I have my card, and never have done business with XXXX and have not had my identity stolen. I am XXXX and the stress Citi caused was dreadful. They closed my card, and 10 days later I received a new card. But everything was lost on-line. Now, I cant reconcile my old card nor the miles I lost in the process. But an addition was added to my account agreement that allows Citi to act however they choose in the event of a dispute. They are now denying the dispute,. Are card holders at the mercy of this bank? Thank goodness, XXXX came to my rescue with a new XXXX XXXX Go Paperless is wrong because it fails.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23 a check was deposited for {$4900.00} because I received a job offer and the check was supposed to be used to purchase equipment thats what I was told. Once the check cleared and the money was made available I transferred {$1000.00} x XXXX ( total of {$2000.00} ) through XXXX from Citibank for a purchase of equipment on XX/XX/23. Then on XX/XX/23 we were notified that the check of {$4900.00} was a fraud and we lost {$2000.00}. If the check did not clear and the funds were not made available then the transfer would not have happened and I would have known that its a fraud. Since the check was a fraud and we already made the transfer of {$2000.00} I lost {$2000.00} of my own money which wouldnt have happened if the check was not cleared and I was made aware it was fraudulent. I have filed a complaint with Citibank and appealed it. I have provided them with all the information that I have for their investigation and I have called numerous times to find out if they received the information that I have sent over through fax and mail and no one is able to answer if they received the information and yet I have been denied a refund/claim. Im not sure how they are making a decision if they dont know they have all the information to do so. I am not able to talk to someone that makes the decision only the representatives and supervisors when I call Citibank they state they can only email or send a message over to the back office where decisions are made regarding frauds and investigations but dont know about if the paperwork I sent has been received which I was told to send over and have had to pay for. I have asked for all the information that was used to make a decision and I should receive it soon hopefully.

Consumer Complaint: I am seeking a credit of {$1800.00} from Citi for merchandise that was not provided to me by XXXX XXXX ( merchant ). XX/XX/XXXX ( Order 1 ) : I ordered a sleeper sofa from XXXX XXXX ( merchant ) for {$2600.00} using my Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select credit card. The estimated delivery time was 20 weeks. XX/XX/XXXX ( Order 2 ) : I ordered two sofas from XXXX XXXX ( merchant ) for {$3400.00} using my Citi credit card. The estimated delivery time was 20 weeks. XX/XX/XXXX : I realized the two sofas would not fit in our space, and I canceled one of the sofas and received a credit from the merchant for {$1500.00} on my Citi card. The remaining balance was {$1800.00}, which is the amount that eventually became an issue on which I opened a dispute with Citi. It is the amount I have been seeking from Citi since then. XXXX, XXXX : I received updates from the merchant that my two furniture pieces were being manufactured and were expected to be delivered as scheduled in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX- and all seemed good. XXXX XX/XX/XXXX : When communication with merchant indicated there were delays in the delivery, I contacted Citi Cards dispute department by phone to open a dispute on the sleeper sofa bed ( {$2600.00} ) and the sofa ( {$1800.00} ). However, the dispute on the sofa was credited incorrectly for the original full price of {$3400.00}, and Citi credited my account while they investigated the dispute. In the meantime, I pursued the issue directly with the merchant. XX/XX/XXXX : It appeared that I had resolved the issue with merchant, and in order for the furniture to move forward, I needed to cancel the disputes with Citi, which I did. The XXXX XXXX merchant then experienced additional delays with the sleeper sofa bed ( Order 1 for {$2600.00} ), and I eventually received this piece in XX/XX/XXXX. There is no current issue with Citi on this item. XX/XX/XXXX : I again became concerned with delivery of the sofa ( Order 2 ) and again contacted Citi to open a new dispute for the single item for {$1800.00}. I was assured by the agent in the dispute department at Citi that this was opened as a new dispute. XX/XX/XXXX : In early XXXX, I received a form letter from Citi stating that there was nothing they could do because I had closed the dispute for the amount of {$3400.00}. This was reference to the previous dispute, not to my current dispute for {$1800.00}. XX/XX/XXXX : The merchant closed its doors and shut down. On my own, I have pursued the sofa through the new ownership of the merchant company, and they initially were encouraging that I would receive the sofa ( Order 2 ). As noted above, I did receive the sleeper sofa bed ( Order 1 ) in XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX : Upon learning the status of the merchant company, I again contacted Citi dispute department by phone regarding the response to XX/XX/XXXX letter and again explained this was a new dispute and was told by the dispute agent that my request would be investigated. XX/XX/XXXX : While I had an open dispute with Citi as described, I continued to pursue the sofa with the new ownership of merchant. After a series of back and forth with them, I was notified that I would not receive the sofa for which I had paid the previous company ( that this new company had taken over ). I was out {$1800.00} and was not getting my sofa. XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX : I made two additional calls to Citi to check on the status and was told that it was still being investigated. XX/XX/XXXX : I received the same form letter from Citi stating that there was nothing they could do because I had previously closed the dispute for {$3400.00}. This letter was in reference to the previous dispute, not my current dispute for {$1800.00}. I realize that Citi is not responsible for what happened through the merchant closing it's doors. However, one of the reasons to use a credit card is to have some sort of back-up when issues like this occur. Here I am today contacting CFPB to see if you can assist me in getting my money back through Citi.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2021 I bought my new house, I went to XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX store to do some shopping to remodel my house and the register that was in the front offered me {$50.00} free if I paid with the credit card and requested an she offer an increase in my XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card limit, She did not give me any additional information, Only a printed ticket from the register machine and she told me that my credit card would arrive soon with additional information, the credit card did not arrive at my address, nor the additional information, I requested again for the credit card plastic and arrived a week later. I never get additional information about the credit conditions, nor additional details. Just a credit card and statement. I called the number behind the card and asked the operator to affiliate my card to automatic payments and sent me a link to do so, so I did it and from there they began to take my payments from my bank account, This is what I do with all my bills to ensure timely payment. So far it's been 25 months and when I want to use the credit again to remodel my kitchen, the worst news I received was that the entire payment of {$3100.00} for 25 months went to interest and only {$500.00} to payment of principal. I am very dismayed, I have not stopped crying, I feel humiliated and abused to hear from the XXXX Bank agent who answered me yesterday by phone, that there were special conditions and policies that I was totally unaware of and that at the time of offering me the credit card they did not tell me. Many registrars of commercial stores, only fall in love by offering discounts and instant benefits and do not explain that the card does not work as a normal and standard credit to pay for 24 or 36 months, no explain rates, interests or payment terms. I hereby request the full refund of the interest charged to me, as I consider it a violation of my rights as a consumer. Their system Takes {$150.00} approx each month for 25 months is a total of {$3600.00} for interests and that's a lot of money for a low-income family, who were unaware that it didn't work like a standard credit card. And even the debt is intact. XXXX XXXX # Account XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Credit Card XXXX Bank
