Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I made an online balance transfer with a Citi bank card to be received by XXXX so that I could avoid the high APR rate. It took some time for the transfer to go through and when it finally did, I noticed that my XXXX account had not been paid. I immediately reached out to Citi bank only to be told that indeed by transfer had gone through and XXXX XXXX had received the funds. Unfortunately, that is not by bank. It's been a over a XXXX and many a phone calls and heartaches. I have visited local branches of Citi and XXXX XXXX with the information that Citi provided me with. They claim that I made the transfer and that it is my mistake because according to them I entered the wrong account number. I find it hard to believe that I entered XXXX numbers wrong and that those numbers would match the expiration date and that the security number would match. I now find myself paying my XXXX card and the Citi card. I am at my wits end.

Consumer Complaint: This is an issue related to a Citi Home Depot Credit Card XXXX. In XXXX of XXXX I was notified that another Citi Home Depot customer was using my social security number. I contacted Home Depot Customer Service to no avil. I submitted a complaint through CFPB see.. XXXX. I provided Citi Bank with a copy of my Texas DL, my XXXX passport, and a copy of my social security number. Citi initially denied my resolution and advised that I needed to get a letter from Social Security to prove that the social belonged to me. I scheduled an appointment with the XXXX social security XXXX. They provided me with a statement that showed that the social security number belonged to me ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and not XXXX XXXX. Upon submitting the information, Citi reached out to me and advised that this was an internal mistake and they would remove XXXX XXXX from my social security number. They also credited my Home Depot account a {$100.00} for my trouble. Fast forward - I was shopping at home depot on XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. As I was checking out, using my home depot credit card - I notice that XXXX XXXX has been added back to the account using my social security number. How can Citi Bank get away with this practice? I'm more concerned now, since have given Citi more of my personal business such as additional credit cards and a savings account. I am concerned that they are allowing others to use my social security and is not taking this issue serious. I am also concerned that your company closed the account without having showing the final outcome from Citi Bank. As of XX/XX/XXXX - As per Citi - this issue is with Home Depot Point of Sale and not Citi Bank.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/ I disputed a charge because I could not use the application I paid for. The merchant said they had no problem returning the money because as I previously stated I couldnt use the app. I spoke with Citibank & disputed the charge & they said they would do an investigation & it would take 30-60 days. Fast forward 2 months I call & they state they have no record of the dispute or the investigation & that my money is just gone & they cant & wont help me. So this is my last resort to get my money back.

Consumer Complaint: Applied for Citi simplicity cars on XX/XX/year> and received the card a week later. Before any application was pushed through I asked the representative if credit could be reallocated from my accounts to my new account and they said it could. Once the card was activated I was told that was not the case and XXXX out of luck. I wouldnt have opened the card if this was the case.

Consumer Complaint: Opened a best buy store card with Citi bank. Was able to use it after getting it but returned items i purchased using card. I wanted to verify funds was returned to card and tried to access this information online. Kept getting error message and called company who told me i had to verify account with letter they sent to my address. After informing them i never received any such letter they said they would resend it. After waiting a few weeks and still not receiving letter, I called in again and was told they couldn't do anything with out verification letter and they will have to send again, I asked to speak to supervisor as two failed attempts at getting letter i should be able to get proof they sent letter. They said they couldn't give me any tracking info and I asked to close account. They told me they couldn't until I get letter that they can prove they sent. I then asked to speak to supervisor again as i should be able to close account they proceeded to hang up phone. When i call back now system sends me back to same department and when call connects they hang up the phone. I just want to close my account as this is shady. Company has disconnected my call every time i call in now so if I do ever receive this supposed letter i have no way of verifying as company blocked my number
