Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX not able to provide us with a clean room when we went to inspect the room with a hotel desk employee we immediately declined the room in question however we were billed for the same XXXX night for {$180.00}. I did not authorize the hotel to charge me as they submitted this charge to Citi XXXX the next day, XX/XX/2023 because we did not stay overnight. This charge was made without my approval nor was I present to sign for the card. In addition the hotel refused to show us the room until I submitted my credit card which they obtained by fraud and my signature for a so called parking space. Citi XXXX did not believe me and I offered to submit my XXXX witness statements to verify how and why this charge was made by XXXX XXXX by fraud however Citi refused to allow me to include my XXXX witness statements. In conclusion, my Citi XXXX XXXX number was stolen and then used the next day without my approval nor knowledge because of fraud committed by XXXX XXXX. This is credit card fraud NOT a billing dispute. Its the same as if the card had been stolen. There has been no response from Citi XXXX explaining why this is a valid charge.

Consumer Complaint: I was informed that a late payment of XXXX days caused an increase of my interest rate from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX. I was not provided a notice that my interest rate had been increase although statements claim that an interest rate " MAY '' increase with a late payment. I have not had a late payment with this credit card except for XXXX. Because I did not receive a notice of change in terms by regular mail nor in any message center in my online card I did not know my interest rate had increased XXXX XXXX for regular purchases moving forward after rate was changed. I made charges after that not knowing and did not have opportunity to decide not to use the card. Future payments are made to lower interest rate balance. In effect compounding alot more interest. I called in and requested a review to please return my interest rate to previous rate. They declined the request.

Consumer Complaint: To Representative, - XXXX : I found an illegal use of my credit card on XXXX account and reported it to Citi cards. The unauthorized transaction XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) was occurred at at XXXX in XXXX on XX/XX/2023. The unauthorized charge was withdrawn a few days later. - XXXX : I received a paper letter from Citi cards that they had made necessary adjustment to my credit card account. - XXXX : I found the amount of the unauthorized transaction was reversed to my credit card account back, so I called City Cards customer service. I was told the issue was still under investigation and I should wait for the contact from Citi cards security center. My dispute report status showed it's under investigation on their website. I waited. - XXXX : I called a Citi cards customer and asked about the progress of the fraud report. The agent named XXXX, she told me the charge wasn't the final and the case was still under investigation. She told me that I should wait until I get a contact from the investigation department. Citi cards website still showed me my dispute report status was under investigation by the day. - XXXX : I found that I was charged interest for delinquency of the unauthorized transaction. I called Citi cards customer service and was told that the case was closed. I explained what happened and she said she would report to the Citi cards investigation department to ask to reopen the case. After hang up the phone, I searched my email box and found an email that an action required letter was sent to me by Citi cards. All I received the letter from Citi cards was the one page letter that Citi had made an action to my credit card account without any further information. I realized there was an online message center and found the notice and letter contained the statement I needed to submit and the transaction records from the merchant ( XXXX ). I called the number ( XXXX ) written on the statement form and reached out to an agent XXXX. After I explained to him about the case, he told me he would call me back on the same day or by the next day. - XX/XX/2023 : I emailed Citi cards billing dispute center ( XXXX ) with the statement what they asked me and details of the issue. - XX/XX/2023 : I didn't get any contact from them to be updated. I called them again but the agent repeat the comment that it's under investigation. After hang up the phone, I had done as below. XXXX ) Submitted the report to Federal Trade Commission 's XXXX. ( FTC report # XXXX ) XXXX ) Submitted the online report to XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ( Tracking # XXXX ) XXXX ) Reported the unauthorized charge dispute to credit bureaus. ( XXXX ) - According to the merchant 's transaction records, they got the result of CVV Response and AVS Response with no response and no match when the transaction was arisen in overseas. However, they approved it. - Citi cards was neglected to double check the unusual big amount transaction which was arisen in overseas to secure their customer 's credit account. I only used the credit cards account for small credit transactions for over years. Also, Citi cards didn't provide proper information that how I get the notices and letters and what I need to do during I contact them to check the dispute status. I believe it's grossly unfair to make the customer responsible for the consequences of a credit abuse incident caused by their insecure systems.

Consumer Complaint: There were 4 fraud transaction made in XXXX in my account. I called HomeDepot to dispute the charges. The charges come back to my account in XXXX, and I called to re-open the case. They " claim '' I should be responsible for the charges after investigation. I opened the HomeDepot Card in year end XXXX, when I live in XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I moved to my new house in XXXX XXXX in year end XXXX, and then I never used the home depot card again. In XX/XX/XXXX, I got email notification for the fraud transaction in my account. I called to dispute the charges. Then I looked into my account. HomeDepot sent an new card to my previous apartment in XXXX. Then the fraud transaction happened. So I think someone with access to the mailbox of my previous apartment activated the card. We have moved out from the apartment for 2 years. We have no access to the card that HomeDepot mailed to us.

Consumer Complaint: Citibank. I wrote a check for {$10000.00}. to XXXX XXXX in Virginia as a deposit for the purchase of a property in Virginia. We reside in California. We began to receive text and email " Fraud Alerts '' from Citibank. Citibank wanted us to push a button that said that we 'DID ' or 'DID NOT " write check # XXXX on certain day for {$10000.00}. Well, we did write a check for {$10000.00}. but the check was check # XXXX, not # XXXX. We did not want to push the button for the wrong check number, but we did not want to jeopardize the purchase of the property, because we did indeed write a check for {$10000.00}. on said day. We drove to Citibank in XXXX XXXXXXXX, California. The banker, at her desk, had us call an XXXX number. When we spoke to the Citibank Representative, she was useless and had us call another XXXX phone number for another department .... and around and around the XXXX phone numbers we were routed. No one could help us and we finally gave up. The bank representative at XXXX XXXXXXXX Citibank had us move from her desk because we were on hold for so long. The bankers at Citibank would not help us resolve this ; they either could not, would not, didn't have a clue as to what to do, or did not have the power to effect a resolution. We were floored and finally left, problem unresolved. I called the real estate agent in Virginia, who said ... .. " well, I dunno ... .. just push the button, I guess. '' So ..... I did. I don't think it was fraud, I think that the electronics picked up a 6 instead of a 5, that the electronic 'eye ' read XXXX instead of XXXX. But, shouldn't Citibank be required to intercede and resolve this check number inconsistency? BUT .... not one in Citibank could/ would help me resolve this! We were in the bank in- person. They could not or would not over-ride the system or communicate with the fraud unit to resolve this important matter ; all they did was tell me to call an XXXX phone number.

Consumer Complaint: I lost my card on or around XX/XX/2023. I immediately called in and reported my card as lost as with Citi Best buy I do not have an app or purchase alerts. They also do not have a friendly mobile website. I reported my card lost right away the same day I realized it was lost. The charges occured in XXXX which is not a city I live in. The charge continued to occur up to 30 or more miles from my home address. I do not travel and am not traveling to " shop ''. I have more than enough proof i was not no where near where the charges occurred and will not pay for unauthorized charges when the credit card was lost and not in my possession.

The denial came in response to my application for a consumer transaction submitted XX/XX/2023, with the purpose of utilizing a portion of my unlimited credit. After careful consideration of the circumstances, I believe that this denial may potentially contravene the provisions outlined in the Equal Credit Opportunity Act ( Title 15 Subsection 1611 ). I am concerned that my application denial may be based on criteria that are not in accordance with the regulations set forth by the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. I would like to request a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure that all relevant laws and guidelines were appropriately adhered to during the decision-making process. Furthermore, I would appreciate receiving detailed information regarding the specific reasons for the denial of my credit application.

Consumer Complaint: Costco Citibank Visa quickly accepted my dispute against a Hotel Reservation Company going by XXXX, a subsidiary of XXXX and owned by XXXX XXXX XXXX since XXXX. This online website mirrored the actual hotel 's website and made an effort to hide its 3rd party status. I was looking to compare prices and terms. Believing I was on the XXXX XXXX XXXX website, I entered the price evaluation algorithm on the first page of this 3rd party website. It appeared to be the same price evaluation software I was familiar with using to evaluate the full cost of leasing an auto, buying an airline ticket, and discovering the real cost of a hotel room. Believing I was on the XXXX XXXX XXXX website, I signed up using my credit card information hoping to get a discount as a member. It was XX/XX/XXXX, and I entered my desired calendar dates for XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX days ). I chose a room with a king bed, and a price of $ XXXX popped up. Great Price! I still wanted to know the terms ( refundability ), taxes, and fees. I was still in the price evaluation algorithm, and the only way I could move forward in assessing this information was to click on a button that read, " Make a Reservation. '' I did not want to waste my time and effort, so I clicked on it. Immediately, I was billed {$260000.00} and told the details would be an emailed receipt. I called the hotel, and they told me they were sorry that I had used a 3rd party vendor to make the reservation, and according to their contact phone number, it was XXXX. I went to my email and discovered they lied about the price. there was close to {$700.00} in undisclosed taxes and fees, and only then did they inform me that the purchase was non-refundable. In effect, I was misinformed about price, taxes, fees, and terms. Citibank decided in their favor after a long dispute process by informing me that the vendor " says they don't owe me anything. '' Every dispute agent I talked with on the phone expressed great concern for me and knew what had happened was WRONG! I asked Citibank if they have another process besides disputes to protect their consumers when their customers have been clearly defrauded. They said there was nothing they could do. I know they XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX went into effect on XX/XX/XXXX. So far it seems that no federal agency has set up an enforcement mechanism for this law. After trying to negotiate directly with XXXX and XXXX, I was refunded {$2400.00}. They did not negotiate they unilaterally decided to charge me for one night after I " no showed. '' I canceled my reservations through this 3rd party vendor within 3 hours of being illegally tricked into making it and 30 days prior to my actual reservation date on XX/XX/XXXX.
