Consumer Complaint: Capital one Bank was told there were unauthorized fraudulent charges made to my account. I went to one of the locations and spoke to a representative who credited the account. Capital one ( an oversees branch or division ) claims that no credit was ever issued for one of the transactions, ( receipt from merchant is attached to this complaint ) so they refused to credit the other transactions and they stole the credit issued by the merchant. ( this may sound unusual, but capital one appears to have somehow deleted the credit 's issued by the merchants, and essentially stole money from the checking account. I did not give capital one the receipt that showed that the merchant credited the account because I wanted to be sure that what they call an investigation is not an investigation at all, Capital one is simply just denying claims. So they do not know, I have documentation proving the account was credited and in so they are committing fraud on American consumers from an over sees branch/division and essentially robbing those who use their services in the US. One document is attached proving this is attached to this complaint. Below are charges added to the capital one bank account this morning, by the offshore capital one operations... Consumer Complaint: Capital One 360 Savings Bonus. Capital One ran a special whereas if one opened one or more accounts between XXXX and XXXX of XXXX, in the amounts from {$25000.00} and {$100000.00}, and these amounts did not decrease for three months by XX/XX/XXXX, a bonus would be paid on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of 1 % for each account. ( {$250.00} and {$1000.00} ) I opened up two accounts in these amounts on or just prior to XX/XX/XXXX. It was mentioned to me that one could not have a current open savings account with Capital One after XX/XX/XXXX. Apparently I had a " dead '' account on file that was with XXXX balance and had been unused since that time. I believe that 1 ) Capital One altered the rules shortly after I made these deposits unknown to me, changing the wording and payout date. ( originally XX/XX/XXXX changing to XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX ) The ghost account had not been used for almost four years and most banks close such an account out after no activity. I assumed it was closed with no activity for the past four years. My belief is Capital One has pulled a " bait and switch '' whereas I had in excess of {$120000.00} tied up in the new accounts for over four months. I called them to no avail thus no bonus.

Consumer Complaint: There was fraud on my deceased husband 's card and I was able to cancel his card, however I wanted to see a statement of what had been charged as we have an automatic payment to the account. They said they couldn't provide that statement. I tried to get an on-line account on my card, but was unable to. They are having trouble verifying me. The problem I told them was we were victims and the criminals filed a change of address at the post office without us knowing. The bank has that fraudulent address on file. Even thou we have lived at our current address for 11 years and our previous address for 23 years they would not accept that. They want a copy of my drivers license submitted via cell phone. I TRIED 5 TIMES TWO DIFFERENT PHONE CALLS AND THE PICTURE WILL NOT TRANSMIT TO THE BANK. I gave them our previous phone number and also the fraudulent address even tho we never lived there. They still insist on getting a picture of my drivers license. I WANT TO RECEIVE MY REWARDS AND CANCEL THE CARD. They said if I cancel the card without the drivers license picture they won't send me a verification because they will NOT send it to my CORRECT ADDRESS. They won't correct my address..

Consumer Complaint: Purchased hand made pottery in XXXX on XX/XX/2022 and paid {$910.00} including shipping and insurance. The package was not delivered until XX/XX/XXXX when we were leaving on another trip. Since there was no external damage visible, we signed for the package and put it in the house. When we returned from our trip on XX/XX/XXXX, we unpacked the box and one item, a platter was broken. All other pieces were fine. We contacted the merchant in XXXX and sent pictures of the broken platter. They told us to take it to the US Postal Service and we did on XX/XX/XXXX. The US Postal Service reported the damage to the XXXX Postal Service. We received a letter from the US Postal Service requesting information to report back to the Italian Postal Service dated XX/XX/XXXX and we returned it promptly. We received a phone call from the XXXX Postal Service to say the damage was being reported to XXXX and on XX/XX/XXXX we received a document from the US Postal Service saying everything was processed and the refund would come from the merchant in XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX we again contacted the merchant asking about our refund and they said that as of XX/XX/XXXX, the XXXX Postal Service had not been notified of a problem. I sent the merchant the paperwork from the US Postal Service and again requested a refund. When no refund was process, I disputed the portion of the charge for the broken platter- {$240.00}. Capital One accepted the dispute and after a few weeks said the dispute was resolved in favor of the merchant because we did not provide the requested information. I had sent a letter, an invoice, photos and all of the US Postal Service paperwork. I again submitted a dispute and sent even more detail and even though the US Postal Service still has the broken item, Capital One says the merchant is right and no further dispute may be processed. What good is a credit card company if they can not handle something as straight forward as a clearly documented broken item and a merchant stonewalling.
