Subissue: Problem with personal statement of dispute
Consumer Complaint: During the Pandemic my wife received a letter stating that she would be let go from her job because of the pandemic, In turn I could not pay on time 4 of my accounts, from credit cards to installment accounts. I submitted prove of documentation that they can see that not only did I missed past 30 days but there after I paid them i=on time and eventually I paid them in full. I explained that this dropped my score significantly and because of it I could not afford to purchase a home for me and my family. The reason I submitted to have to negative reporting removed from my reports was because I read online that if you had difficult paying on time because of the pandemic that they would work work with you if you can provide proof of what had taken place in your life like loss of employment. I want to also let you know that they took about 6 month to respond with letters sayin that they could not help me. The Dates that I missed payments past 30 days were after the lay off.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I have severe health issues and use a lower limit ( Capital One ) Card for my son to order his meals and for a few auto-payments. My son had this card attached to his XXXX account and one of his online friends guessed his password and began using my card to " gift '' XXXX credits. I have never used this card for XXXX purchases and the charges to XXXX began last XXXX and increased in size and frequency. my son makes a lot of small purchases from XXXX XXXX and I never saw anything other than that when I'd look at the last few purchases from time to time. I paid off a XXXX balance last month not realizing that thousands were from fraudulent XXXX purchases. Finally the card got declined and only then did Capitol One reach out to me ( while I was also realizing something was wrong ) at the very end saying there's suspicious activity. I explained my health situation ( I have full body Type XXXX XXXX also known as " the XXXX XXXX '' ) I am in constant treatments and often my discomfort and pain is too high for me to read or drive or even talk. I told them about my health situation. I also stressed that by XXXX it would be clear to ANYONE ( the charges began in XXXX ) looking at my statement that there were increasing amounts ( $ XXXX per week ) and I didn't get any alert for this. The total amount taken from me was {$8200.00}. I am being told that they will only reimburse the fraud from the last 120 days so that leaves thousands that I don't get back. It is mind boggling that SO many increasingly large charges FROM the same vendor in INCREASING frequency didn't prompt an alert from Capital One. I never have this issue with XXXX XXXX and had this been my XXXX XXXX I would've been notified in plenty of time to catch this. When fraud is this clear the Credit Card companies should be liable for their own lack of basic fraud protection to customers. I believe they were negligent as {$300.00} per week spiraled into {$1000.00} and STILL NO alert. Now because of my health issues I have no way to get three months of fraudulent charges back. The frequency and amount were clear indications of fraud. Capitol One has a fiduciary duty to protect me from fraud and they failed but I have to pay. They will never get my business again. Fraud protection should be mandated to at least catch these OBVIOUS EGREGIOUS patterns, and not everyone is able to be vigilant over every account at all times... .while fighting for their life.

Consumer Complaint: I took {$25.00} against my credit card ending in XXXX, in XX/XX/2022. Even though I pay more than that each month in regular payments, the continue to charge me 30.24 % APR interest monthly and claim I now owe over {$67.00} not {$25.00}. They claim that even though Oregon limits interest rates to 30 % that they have the right to exceed this. Also, the supervisor said that Oregon 's interest rate limit doesn't apply to them, and that even though I've more than paid {$25.00} back, they require the entire balance to be paid off in order to clear the {$67.00} which also is charged a separate interest rate in addition to my overall balance interest. Consumer Complaint: On my consumer report ( XXXX ), I discovered an account that wasn't mine. It was a Capital One account that was at issue. I reported the fraud to XXXX, provided all the necessary evidence to support my claim, and they conducted a dispute. When the dispute was resolved, it was verified that I owned the account. I don't have a Capital One account for that much, so I know this can't be true. I don't own this account, so it needs to be deleted on my consumer report right now.

Consumer Complaint: Through a promotion of XXXX, I was matched with a Capital One XXXX card, which I then applied for and received. One of the benefits promised was supposed to be no annual fee for the first year and {$95.00} a year thereafter. The day I received the physical credit card there was a {$95.00} charge for an annual fee on the account. I called Capital One and after 20 minutes on the phone the best they could do was tell me that my complaint should be taken to XXXX. So I called XXXX and spoke to an offshore help line. After 20 minutes with them, a supervisor came on the line to tell me that since they hadnt charged me anything i should take my complaint to Capital One, and then he hung up on me at which point I heard a recording say thank you for calling XXXX. I will continue to follow up with Capital One another day, as Im not willing to give it another 40 minutes today, but I wanted to formalize a complaint as I smell a scam.

Consumer Complaint: Order not received from merchant XXXX during the first week in XXXX. Contacted XXXX and they were only willing to refund back {$35.00} for 3 packages that were lost. Refused to issue a refund for order amount {$780.00} & {$770.00}. I was told that I would have to take this up with my credit card company which is Capital One. Contacted Capital One & explained to agent that this merchandise was not received by me and they initially filed this as a fraud claim instead of a dispute and I had to wait a whole month for them to close out the fraud claim. I then was contacted that this was a dispute that needed additional paperwork. It was not explained to me at that time that I would have to submit the same paperwork twice although this is the same charge on the same day. It was not explained to me that I would receive two claim numbers from Capital One and that I would have to respond to each one separately with the paperwork that I had showing contact from the merchant and the delivery company. They reversed the charge for {$780.00} and then sent additional documents for the charge of {$770.00}. The documents would not open that were sent in my email and when I contacted them they stated that I could access them through the app. This was on XX/XX/XXXX at which time I learned that they had reapplied the charge and interest for the {$770.00}. 21. I explained that I thought that this was taken care of and that I wish to reopen the dispute. The agent told me that she would do so and send me a link to upload the documents. I received another letter after I resubmitted the same documents stating that the timeframe had expired and that I will have to contact the merchant. I am now having to pay for merchandise that I did not receive.
