Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Can't use card to make purchases
Consumer Complaint: XXXX on keeps declining purchases on my co-branded WalMart credit card. They are aware that XXXX is double authorizing purchases instead of sending charges through using the original authorization. For example, I made a purchase on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX for in store pickup. The amount was authorized at that time. On pick up, XXXX sent through a separate charge for the same amount. Thereby double authorizations causing the card to appear to be authorized over the limit and causing declines on other transactions when there should be more than enough available credit. This has been occurring since the card was issued. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, that authorization is still showing pending on my card although the actual purchase has already cleared on XX/XX/XXXX. I have reached out to both XXXX and Capital One in regards to this matter. Capital One admits this is the issue and as the issuer should insure that this illegal practice per XXXX and fair credit practice does not continue but they pass the ball to XXXX. I have reached out to XXXX and they only say We are getting a lot of complaints about this. No kidding? They are basically holding an amount against the customers credit limit that they are no entitled to. I dont intend to be authorized double every time I shop with them. Moreover, their rewards program encourages shoppers to use curbside pickup as the rewards for this service is 5 % compared to s paltry 1 % received in store.

Consumer Complaint: I have paid more toward late fees than the capital one balance. It's a rip off. It's a scam to keep me in debt. I missed the payment by 4 days and they want to charge {$40.00} on top of {$100.00} payment. Not to mention I've had the card for over ten years, I have paid it off more than twice and they have never raised my limit. After many times of me asking as my income has increased I have the same credit amount as when I got the card in college and I'm a XXXX XXXX XXXX human. These companies rip off the American people ; all they care about is money.

Consumer Complaint: I recently received an email from Capital One re : my credit card with them ending in XXXX. The email threatened that they may reduce my available credit amount on this card if I don't start using the card ( even though I have an excellent credit score which could be adversely affected by a reduction in credit. ) I have other credit cards with Capital One and those have balances on which I make regular payments in excess of the minimum amount due so I don't understand the intimidation tactics being employed by Capital One via its email threatening to lower my amount of available credit ( {$15000.00} ) on this particular card unless I start using the card. Moreover, Capital One added insult to injury by telling me that I can forestall this threatened lowering of my available credit amount ( & negatively affecting my credit rating ) by promising to significantly start using my card in the future. Whoever came up with this insulting tactic of threatening good Capital One customers who have regularly paid on their cards because we are not using our cards enough should be fired. I did capitulate to the Capital One threat by calling their automated number and indicating that I will significantly increase my spending on this Capital One card, however, I am now considering paying off all my Capital One cards and closing all accounts with them because of this insulting email they sent out threatening good paying customers.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: So I put in a dispute for a charge about XXXX XXXX. They charged me twice for the same flight. They sent me over documentation saying I purchased it which I did, I had a medical emergency that made me cancel my original ticket and purchase a new one because I was hospitalized. So I did purchase both tickets but one of the tickets should of been cancelled and it wasn't. So I have two tickets for the same flight. Somehow they are providing documentation to Capital One saying I got on the flight .... which I DID but not the one I booked originally and needed to cancel for the second flight which I purchased. There is two XXXX XXXX transactions. I only had one. At the airport in XXXX they didn't give me a cancellation paper they just told me they took care of it. Yet they didn't and both charges are on my credit card. So either I have a clone that can take two flights or they double charged me for the flights. I'll add the documentation of the letter from the hospital as well to show that I was seriouslyinjured and had XXXX, etc.
