Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Funds not received from closed account
Consumer Complaint: My saving account containing XXXX dollars was closed on XX/XX/2023 by Capital One Without prior notice. I have been communicating on a weekly basis with Capital One being told that my account was being investigated for fraud and when the investigation was concluded my funds would be returned to the original funding source. On XX/XX/XXXX when I called to check on the status of the investigation I was told that the funds were returned on XX/XX/2023 to the original funding source and that Capital One no longer had the funds. This is a direct contradiction to what I have been told all along.I explained to the representative that I never received the funds and had checked with my bank and they have no record of any transfer from Capital One to my checking account ( the original funding source ) The representative stated it didnt matter that I didnt receive the funds Capital One no longer had my funds. I have my bank records showing no deposits from Capital One made my checking account ( the original funding source )

Consumer Complaint: Capital one 360 checking account had my account restricted for use. XXXX settlements made 2 deposits on XX/XX/2024 into this account based off information I had submitted 2 years ago. I called capital one 360 checking on XX/XX/2024 asking for them to return the funds either to me or to XXXX settlement. XXXX settlement paid me for a claim from 2 years ago that was going thru the legal system. I won the settlement against XXXX. So they deposited 2 payments in the amount of {$92.00} into the capital 360 checking not knowing that my account had been restricted/closed. Capital one says they are entitled to keep those funds because my account was negative, however I had a payment plan in place for that already. XXXX settlements said I had to go thru capital one in order to get those funds either returned to them or to me. Which Im going in circles and no one can help me. Can someone please advise me on this situation. I could have fed my family or had my car repaired. Thank you, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, KY XXXX XXXX XXXX

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: I applied for a Capital One Credit Card and was denied. They stated it was for prior activities which is false information. I've never had a capital one card and have stated that to the credit bureaus several time. The credit reporting agencies have deleted and blocked the fraud accounts from my credit reports but capital one keeps denying my request which is against the truth and lending act 1968 15 U.S.C. CH. 41 1601 According to 15 U.S.C. 1602 Banks do not extend credit to me, they are middlemen who help me access my credit account. I shouldn't be getting denial letters as I have never had an account.

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of concern regarding the negative impact on my credit standing. This issue arose as a result of following the advice of a debt consolidation company, specifically the representatives of the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Upon seeking assistance from the debt consolidation company, I was advised not to make monthly credit card payments with the intention of allowing these accounts to close. The subsequent closure of these accounts has resulted in a significant decline in my credit scores. Furthermore, reputable financial institutions such as XXXX now have records of me being 90 days or more past due, despite my prior good standing. I would like to emphasize that prior to following the advice of the debt consolidation company, my credit accounts were in good standing, and I had a responsible track record of timely payments. The impact of this advice on my credit standing has been distressing and has caused significant inconvenience and concern. I have documentation and correspondence from the debt consolidation company, including details of the advice provided and the intended resolution through settlement with lower numbers on these accounts. I believe that this evidence supports my case and underscores the impact of the advice I received. I kindly request that you investigate this matter and make the necessary corrections to my credit report. I am committed to resolving this issue and restoring my credit standing to its previous favorable status. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am available to provide any additional information or documentation as required. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX
