Consumer Complaint: The following corporation Comenity Bank XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX is reporting income to the top three credit reporting agencies, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. XXXX is not part of any XXXX, XXXX, or XXXX credit reports. This needs to stop immediately. According to XXXX 's own web site It states ( see provided upload ) " Your credit history does not include income information. And according to the IRS web site publication 525 and 4681 ( see provided uploads ) The IRS clearly makes it known that 1099c is to be considered income. And as such income is not and can not be a debt therefore income can not be reported to the credit reporting agencies. I have uploaded the proof of income 1099C along with the IRS publications and as well as XXXX confirming that income can not and does not get reported to the credit reporting agencies. Comenity Bank XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX must remove delete all income ie 1099c from being reported to my credit reports In summary it is abundantly clear to all parties that the IRS considers 1099C cancelled debt to be reported as income and accordingly the credit reporting agencies as well as Comenity BanXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX themselves should not be reporting income. See below more clarification regarding the fact that income can not be reported to the credit reporting agencies, ie 1099c being income to be reported on tax returns Can income be reported on credit report? Income isn't even on your credit reports so it can not be considered in credit scores because credit scores only consider what's on your credit reports, XXXX explains. In fact, no wealth metrics are factored into your credit scores. What information Can not be included in a credit report? For example, a credit provider might ask you for information about your income when you make an application for credit. The credit provider can not give information about your income to a CRB to be included in your consumer credit report

Consumer Complaint: Comenity Bank provided me a credit card through a purchase at Jared. I was not told at the store my loan is a promotional plan. I enabled automatic payments and thought it was being paid accurately. I was then hit with deferred interest payment and was never notified of this. I have opened other cases and they keep on saying that it is my fault for not knowing I was in a promotional plan. There was never a warning sent to my email ( after they aggressively asked me to go paperless ) and the warning on my statements are in a small box at the bottom. They are deliberately trying to do the bare minimums in notification so they can prey on customers with deferred interest. If they truly cared for customers they would actually notify them. I never even got a notification AFTER they added the interest.

Consumer Complaint: My XXXX statement for my XXXX 's account showed a remaining balance of {$180.00}, due XX/XX/2023. On XX/XX/2023, I submitted payment in full ( {$180.00} ). For some strange reason, and unbeknown to me, on XX/XX/2023, Comenity charged my XXXX 's account {$2.00} for interest on purchases. This {$2.00} amount was due XX/XX/2023. What purchases? There were no additional purchases once I fully paid my balance on XX/XX/2023. Because I wasn't aware of this {$2.00} balance due in XXXX, it was not paid. On XX/XX/2023, my account was charged another {$2.00} late fee. It was also subsequently charged another {$2.00} on XX/XX/2023. By the time I became aware of this issue, the balance due on my XXXX 's account stood at {$6.00}. I've never had any other clothing credit card charge interest after the balance has been paid in full! I've never missed a payment, nor been late with my payments. More often than not, my payments have well exceeded the minimum amount due. This is a shady business practice that has the potential to negatively affect my credit score, and for what? My account NEVER should have been charged anything after paying the balance in full! As soon as I became aware of this situation on XX/XX/2023, I called Comenity and spoke with XXXX. After consulting with his supervisor/manager he didn't remove each charge, but rather credited each one. While this clears my account, it still has the potential to damage my credit report by reporting a late payment history. I want to ensure my credit report reflects the correct payment history, absent of any late payment.

Consumer Complaint: ( The XXXX XXXX ) I made the payment in XXXX that paid the account balance on XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a late fee and on XX/XX/XXXX the interest posted to the account. Im XXXX I paid the remaining balance which only included the past due fee and interest there was XXXX principal balance. After I made the payment in XXXX I received another late fee of {$34.00} because {$2.00} interest posted to the account. Again the again only has fees and interest because the principal balance was completely paid off in XXXX. The credit card act advises that theses companies are suppose to keep charging fees and interest on a balance that only consists of fees and interest. All purchases has been paid off and the company refuses to credit the fee for XXXX because I paid the fees and interest for XXXX and there have been no purchases made on this account. They need to update my credit report as well.
