Consumer Complaint: XXXX an e-bill from XXXX XXXX XXXX reflecting a balance of {$31.00} for an auto-refill subscription to be paid by XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX Assessed a {$30.00} late fee for failure to make payment by XX/XX/XXXX. XXXXReceived an e-bill from XXXX XXXX XXXX reflecting a balance of {$63.00} to be paid by XX/XX/XXXX. XXXXContacted company via email regarding missed payment and requested a one-time courtesy waiver of late fees. I was informed that they would remove the late fees assessed which would be reflected in my next statement. I made a payment in the amount of {$31.00}. XXXXReceived an e-bill from XXXX XXXX XXXX reflecting a balance of {$73.00} which included the {$30.00} XXXX late fee and a {$40.00} XXXX late fee as well as minimum finance charges. I have contacted XXXX XXXX regarding the new unexplained charges but they are unwilling to clear the balance. The most they can do is waive the {$40.00} XXXX late fee. They argue that I had a balance of {$2.00} ( supposedly " valid '' minimum finance charges ) on XX/XX/XXXX which constituted a failure to pay. As a result, they reassessed XXXX and XXXX late fees. If they receive no payment by XX/XX/XXXX they will assess another {$40.00} late fee. In sum, I will continue to accumulate late fees, minimum finance charges, and risk potential adverse impact on my credit report because they argue they are owed a {$2.00} finance charge which was assessed a late fee which they were to waive. I paid for my purchase but it is unconscionable that they would continue to assess fees upon fees upon fees over a {$2.00} minimum finance charge which I was unaware of.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2022, I contacted Comenity CB ULTAMC to determine all amount, outstanding under the credit card issued by them and to close my account. I simply no longer wished to maintain unnecessary credit cards above and beyond my primary bank issued credit cards I had had for years. I advised Comenitys representative over the phone that I wish to be advised of all amounts incurred under my credit card, gave the representative my XXXX, routing and account numbers authorized Comenity to withdraw all amounts, incurred, whether or not due and requested that they close my account. They assured me that they had. Apparently, Comenity. failed to withdraw. {$0.00} incurred. That was their error as my XXXX account at all times relevant held in excess of. {$10000.00} and I had authorized them specifically to withdraw all amounts incurred, whether or not then due, prior to closing my account. I have contacted Comenity on numerous occasions since in response to attempts by Comenity to impose draconian penalties and fees on its {$0.00} error. As of their last correspondence, they have attempted to collect {$76.00} from me in order to settle this account and close it. Obviously that would represent an annual interest rate in the tens of thousands of percent. To say that this is unconscionable is an understatement. Moreover, this error has caused my XXXX score to decline nearly 100 points. I have contacted them by phone on at least a half dozen occasions, each time I have been transferred from department to department and in the aggregate, the experience has taken in excess of two hours, and resulted in me being cut off after such wait times.
