Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX XXXX 2021 I ordered a piece of furniture that never was shipped. I inquired and through an text exchange I was offered and accepted a refund. Unbeknownst to me, the customer service rep instead ordered another piece and charged me for it. On XX/XX/2021, I filed a dispute with Comenity Bank and attached a copy of the text exchange clearly showing I was offered and accepted a refund. I never authorized another order. Comenity still has not ruled on the dispute. I was forced to pay the balance with late fees. Emails to them are answered with, we are aware and are investigating the situation.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: Made a payment to XXXX credit that used XXXX credit as the underwriter on XX/XX/XXXX of 2001. The payment was withdrawn from a bank XXXX XXXX XXXX payment account. XXXX had just changed underwriters of credit from Comenity Bank to XXXX at that time of my order. XXXX did not change the payment address, as defined by conditions of XXXX XXXX XXXX when the payment was made. The payment of {$2600.00} was delivered to Comenity bank because of this error. Comenity Bank placed the payment in an old account for a different person instead of returning the check to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I contacted XXXX by phone multiple times, and by writing 6 times or more, when considering faxing and by certified mail, to no avail. XXXX has chosen to sue me in in civil court for an unpaid bill. I contacted Comenity Bank by phone multiple times, and certified letters four times. Comenity Bank, when speaking by phone, at first, told me that the money was likely placed in a special account and I needed to tell XXXX XXXX XXXX that I must claim fraud to get the funds back and that they have no record of any such transaction. The cashed Bank Check shows a payment to XXXX for my account in the amount of {$2600.00} on the front, and the back of the check shows Comenity Bank processing and cashing the check by placing it into an old nonfunctional account for a different account. Calling Comenity bank, with the attorney for XXXX, which are suing me for non-payment, refused to discuss anything and reported that no such transaction took place because no record exists. I have the record of transaction and the funds were removed from the XXXX XXXX XXXX account. I want the funds returned so that XXXX XXXX can be repaid.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Consumer Complaint: I am disputing the write-off reported on my credit report by your agency. I have not received a 1099-C form from the creditor, which would indicate that the debt was cancelled or forgiven. Without this form, I believe it is inaccurate and unfair to report it as a write-off on my credit report. As a responsible borrower, I have always made an effort to pay my debts on time and in full. Therefore, it is particularly distressing to have a write-off reported on my credit report, especially when I have not received any notification or documentation indicating that the debt has been cancelled or forgiven. I request that you investigate this. I have not received a 1099-C form from the creditor, which would indicate that the debt was cancelled or forgiven. Without this form, I believe it is inaccurate and unfair to report it as a write-off on my credit report.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: I got a bill from Comenity about a {$3.00} charge on a card I no longer have and have not used in years. I spoke to someone months ago that said they would cancel the card me close the account and I was not responsible. Then I got another bill. I figured it took a month to resolve. But I got another bill with interest and penalties. I wrote a letter to Comenity. They sent me a response letter dated XXXX XXXX, that they were researching the issue and to please allow them 90 days to resolve the issue. I had no issue with that until, now they have me as delinquent over 60 days at every credit bureau and that I now owe them {$60.00} for that {$3.00} disputed fraudulent transaction. It has caused my credit score to plummet. I have had no delinquent accounts in many years and this has single handedly caused irreparable damage to my credit. This needs to be resolved immediately and removed from my credit. I dont have this card. I havent used this card. I told hem immediately and they keep dragging their feet and charging me extra fees while damaging my good credit.
