Consumer Complaint: I closed an account through Comenity Bank that I opened through an Ulta store in XXXX of XXXX. I had never received a card or any other info on the card after I opened it XXXX of XXXX, I believe it was. I only used it on the date I opened it. I finally received a bill from them about the time I closed the account. On XX/XX/XXXX, I paid the balance of {$64.00}. They have been contacting me about late fees on this account after I closed it. I think theyre saying now I owe over {$300.00} on an account with a balance of XXXX when I closed it. For a period of about two weeks, I was getting calls from an unknown number multiple times per day, which I didnt answer or couldnt block because the number wasnt displayed. Finally they called and left a message so I knew it was them constantly calling. The unknown calls still came several times per day. Then I got another call with a message on XX/XX/XXXX and I talked to someone on that day. They said I was two days late paying my final bill so thats why I owe this money. They kept charging me fees when I didnt have an account! I said on this call that I would pay the late fee, but they said that wasnt enough. Now its on my credit report as delinquent. The same thing is going on with a XXXX card I got through Synchrony.I closed the account, asked what the balance was, paid it and theyve been charging me fees while I dont have an account and that is now on my credit too.I always had good credit before I opened two accounts to save a little money. Is this legal? Can you help me with these two matters?

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I have many credit cards never had late fees. I pay my bills ahead of time using bill pay. I applied and received 3 cards from commenity bank. I kept getting hit with late fees from day one, checks sent from my bank bill pay taking 15 to 16 days to post. Always, after the due date. I have been using this bill pay forever to pay other bank cards. It has never taken this long. On another one of their cards the payment was electronic and they hit me with a late charge for my XXXX statement. My bank was able to track the electronic payment and advised me that they had received the payment 4 days prior and were holding the funds instead of posting the payment. This was 4 days prior to the due date and had not posted it. The bank did reverse the {$29.00} fee and offered no explanation. I have closed the cards because I feel this is a scam and a way for this bank to fraudulently make money. The last late fees were on XX/XX/23 from Commenity XXXX for {$26.00} late fee and {$2.00} interest. XXXX Ulta had a charge of {$36.00} late fee on XX/XX/23 and interest of {$2.00}. No explanation was given on why it takes 16 days for a check to post. I explained that I can not pay the bill before it is generated. One of the employees told me that she hears the same story all the time from other customers. Thank you.
