I went to my financial institution, XXXX and asked for proof of payment, which is attached. I then sent a letter to Bank of America, copy attached, with proof that the check cleared and requested that they reverse their error as the check was paid, and credit XXXX XXXX XXXX account. To this date, no funds have been returned to her account or to my account, and Bank of America has not responded.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing in regards to a 30 day late payment in regards to my Merrill Lynch Bank of America credit card. The late payment was approximately {$2.00}. Info : - I have had the card open since XXXX and have autopay established since my first e-bill. I have never missed a payment in the XXXX years. - I opened a BoA checking account in XXXX. Due to consolidation of our finances with my wife, I closed the BoA checking on XX/XX/XXXX. - I was live chatting with XXXX from BoA on XX/XX/XXXX and she said that because I closed the checking account : your bill pay profile was switched to a credit card only profile and that removed any payment information and autopay set up under the other profile. - I never received any communication that this would happen and wasnt told by the live chat rep when closing my checking that this would happen. - I only received notice that I had a missed payment from XXXX XXXX credit monitoring that I had. I quickly paid the {$3.00} that night. - I had simply assumed that my autopay of XXXX years would work, considering my pay-from bank account to my credit union never changed. - I noticed BoA never charged a late fee ; I certainly would have noticed a fee on my statement but never thought anything over the $ XXXX on the statement. I have major concerns with Bank of America 's inability to help with this, especially since Bank of America canceled my credit card autopay without informing me. When I live chatted with Bank of America to close the checking account back in XXXX, I was never informed that this changes my profile and removes my autopay ( how would I as a consumer know this? ). Hopefully a one-time good will adjustment can be made in my favor due to the unfortunate situation
