Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Money was taken from your account on the wrong day or for the wrong amount
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I was called by a verified Bank of America customer service number XXXX. The correspondent said his name was XXXX from the Bank of America fraud department. XXXX mentioned that there had been some activity on my account from Wisconsin. I live in XXXX, NC and had no connection. I was skeptical at the call but what had got me was the fact that XXXX knew the last XXXX digits of my social security number, date of birth, and last XXXX of my account number. After I complied with this caller, my account was wiped of {$3400.00}. I was very disappointed, because how can I trust any Bank of America number after this happened to me. I usually dont comply with calls like this but that fact that a correct Bank of America number called me 4 times spark a concern from me. I dont know if this is the right people to report this too but I am concerned not just for myself but for others who might be put in the same situation.

Issue: Getting a loan or lease
Subissue: Credit denial
Consumer Complaint: Bank of America denied my application for a used car loan under XXXX in XXXX, XXXX. Stating I did not meet the qualifications per my credit report. I reviewed all 3 credit reports and did not see an inquire from Bank of America. Bank of American has a history of pulling wrong credit information and depositing funds into the wrong checking accounts for me. I no longer bank at Bank of America because of their past history of mishandling of my accounts. My credit score is has been good/ to excellent consistently over ( 800 ). My earning to debt ratio is good. Bank of America stated the decision was based of my credit report from XXXX, no record of an inquire on my XXXX Credit Report. I was able to obtain a loan for another bank. The interest rate at Bank of American would have been less. What options do I have, I feel I was mislead and given inaccurate information from Bank of America. They never pulled my credit report, I do not pose a high lending risk. Thank you XXXX XXXX

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Overcharged for something you did purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: - Recently paid down large amount ( {$5000.00} ) on Bank of America credit card balance for an upcoming international trip ( XX/XX/2023 ) - Tried to use the card after the funds had posted ( XX/XX/2023 ) and noticed transactions being declined despite expectation that there should be plenty of credit available. - Looked at account ( XX/XX/2023 ) and noticed the available credit was reduced after my payment posted. - There was no alert or notification before, during, or after the payment indicating that there was an issue and my credit available would be reduced. - Called Bank of America on XX/XX/2023 to discuss what the issue was. XXXX Bank of America noted that due to a previous amount that had gone over the limit, once this payment posted they automatically dropped my limit down to exactly the amount I had paid down to as of XX/XX/2023. I asked if I make additional payments on the card will the credit amount continue to be reduced to which they were not willing to share and could not tell ; effectively rendering the card useless since as I make payments, the open credit will continue to disappear. - The transaction in question was a charge by XXXX for which the amount was well beyond my rental agreement and knowing that the amount was excessive and beyond the limit of my credit card I did not expect the transaction to successfully be charged to my Bank of America credit card and informed XXXX at the time that " I do not approve this transaction. '' However, XXXX charged the Bank of America card anyway against my request and the unauthorized transaction for {$2300.00} successfully went through, pushing my Bank of America Card over its limit. - On my call with Bank of America on XX/XX/2023 they indicated that XXXX would have put a pre-approved amount larger than the charged amount on the card and that is why it was able to go through as a successful transaction. - First, the rental car was prepaid ( XXXX Euro ), and second my XXXX rental agreement, which I re-confirmed with XXXX on XX/XX/2023, notes that a hold on the credit card would be for the estimated rental cost + approximately XXXX Euros, or in this case XXXX, or XXXX Euro. XXXX Bank of America on the call on XX/XX/2023 indicated the only way to change the credit limit back was for me to apply for an increase in my credit limit ( with the same bad information ) which surprisingly was instantly rejected. XXXX Bank of America allowed an unauthorized transaction well above my credit limit for which there was not pre-authorization, then used the overage to reduce my credit limit also damaging my credit score as now rather than showing credit available, the limit was dropped to the balance amount effectively reducing it to no credit available.

Consumer Complaint: Bank of America continues increasing our payment which does not match our mortgage agreement. I attempt to speak with a rep who stated they can do what they want to do. I requested to speak with a supervisor but he refused and began raising his voice. Out of retaliation, the company added late fees to our loan. Late fees have not been on our statements since we file for bankruptcy in XXXX. Also, there is not XX/XX/XXXX statement on our account to review.

Consumer Complaint: It's been over 30 days and the creditor ( Bank of America ) has not updated the information NOR has provided proof or documentations regards to improper use of my credit. They have not supply this information and they must delete the alleged verified hard inquiry on my credit report. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed several fraudulent charges on my Bank of America credit card account and called their fraud services. A fraud case was opened and several, but not all, of the charges were cancelled. On XX/XX/XXXX, 3 of the fraudulent charges went through, all from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, with the amounts {$120.00}, {$230.00}, and another {$230.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received provisional credit for {$120.00} and {$230.00}, but not the other {$230.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, the credit became permanent and the case was closed even though there was a remaining fraud charge of {$230.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called the fraud number again and asked about the other charge. The representative told me they " didn't add that charge to the system '' and said they would take care of it, and that I would be getting provisional credit for it. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called again because I didn't get the credit yet, and the representative that time told me that I wouldn't get credit until the case was closed, and that the previous representative was mistaken. On XX/XX/XXXX, the claim is still " being researched '' according to the Bank of America website, so I called yet again. The representative XXXX XXXX from Texas ) told me that the still hadn't put the remaining charge into the system, and that he would do that and give me the provisional credit. Now it is XX/XX/XXXX, and I still haven't gotten provisional credit for that last charge from XX/XX/XXXX.
