Issue: Closing on a mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I was asked for closing documents 2 hours after the settlement was to happen. The entire process, from application to closing was botched by Bank of America. We selected BofA because we are customers. We will no longer be customers after this experience. I would like to request that BofA complete a full audit of my loan and the path it took, including internal processing, phone calls between me and XXXX as well as emails. The gaps in the process will be apparent. Im wondering if there are RESPA violations. I did not receive the final CD until I asked for it, a day before closing. Thank you for reviewing.

Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Billing problem
Consumer Complaint: I received an account history mailed from Bank of America on XX/XX/XXXX, showing my original loan amount as {$48000.00} and the Maturity Date as XX/XX/XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX, Bank of America has received {$42000.00} in interest. The total interest Bank of America was to receive was only {$37000.00}. When I called Bank of America in XX/XX/XXXX, I was told I owed an extra {$4900.00} in interest because of a balloon payment for the 4 loan extensions totaling 5 months. I asked Bank of America if I could make payments to this alleged balloon payment, but Bank of America said I had to pay it in whole or I would be in default. I have no knowledge of a balloon payment, and it was never talked about or in the agreed contract I signed that I am aware of. Bank of America applied 9 months of payments strictly to interest when our agreement only allows them to do this if I was late or missed a payment, which was never before XX/XX/XXXX, according to my credit report. I contacted Bank of America on XX/XX/XXXX, to try to resolve this issue. I was transferred to management, where I was hung up on while trying to explain the evidence in front of me at the time and have Bank of America show me where in our contract it stated that I would have to owe a balloon payment. Since I was hung up on, I referred to writing Bank of America by sending them a letter on XX/XX/XXXX, in which they responded that my letter was without merit. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent Bank of America another letter specific to our loan agreement that shows that I should not owe anything on the loan and that our contract was fulfilled in XX/XX/XXXX, to which Bank of America never replied. Bank of America wrote a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, stating that I was in default and that Bank of America would repossess the collateral if I did not pay {$4600.00} by XX/XX/XXXX. Bank of America is trying to collect more than they were owed without sending any justification and breaching our agreed-upon contract. I was unfairly tricked into a loan extension by misrepresentation from Bank of America.

Issue: Other transaction problem
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I have made a transfer that was incorrectly flagged by OFAC and taken out from my account by Bank of America. The only communication I received from the bank is that my money are taken out and phone number to contact OFAC. I followed OFACs instructions precisely and applied for license to release funds, 8 months later I received a response that no funds are blocked in my name. I contacted Bank of America for at least 5 times, and spend more than 6 hours on the phone, however the only suggestion they offered is to file a claim that I did, including letter from OFAC stating the fact of no funds blocked, but BOFA returned it as invalid since this was not an ACH transaction, but " bank adjustment '' There is literally no one in customer support, who understands the process of how to release blocked funds that were kept XXXX due to some mistake on the bank side and no one is being held accountable for that.
