Consumer Complaint: Merril XXXX breach account agreement and violation of the regulation E, that says an account must be in XXXX balance for it to be closed and if a bank decides to close an account they must mail a check to the mailing address on file. This is not the case after Merrill closed my account since XXXX I deposited a check of {$3800.00} on XX/XX/2023 into my XXXX, it was passed the cut of time so XX/XX/2023 was regarded as the day of deposit, on XX/XX/2023 this check was paid by the other financial institution, along the line Merrill closed my account i have the account closure case ID, so i called for my money and i was told it was sent out on XX/XX/2023 i waited and the check never arrived in the mail, i went online and realize people have several complaints about XXXX holding people 's fund after closing the account on XX/XX/2023 when i called Merrill customer service it was on speaker and i was recording the conversation with my other phone so i could have evidence of merrill lying and trying to steal my money, i tried to attach the conversation to this complaint but the website will not allow file above 10mb so i have to attach just little of the recordings where this representative was telling me it was not sent on XX/XX/2023 but it was sent out on XX/XX/2023, i have waited and till now there is no check in the mail. I WILL LIKE TO SAY THAT I DON'T HAVE PLANS TO REINSTATE MY XXXX ACCOUNT WITH MERRILL, AND MERRILL DOES NOT HAVE RIGHT TO MY MONEY AFTER CLOSING MY ACCOUNT. I DON'T WANT TO HAVE A BUSINESS WITH MERRILL, I WANT MY MONEY DEPOSITED INTO MY ACCOUNT Bank routing number : XXXX Direct deposit account number : XXXX Bank name : XXXX XXXX XXXX Deposit Amount : {$3800.00} Account type : Checking Name : XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I was contacted by who I thoght was Bank of America about someone opening an account in my name. I believed I was dealing with the Bank of American when they asked to me to send a payment of {$3400.00}. Once I realized that the caller ID, which showed the call was coming from Bank of America and was the proper phone number, was not correct it was too late. I contact the Bank and they took my complaint and said I would probably not receive my funds back even though I truly believed I was dealing with the Bank.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I am writing to communicate the lack of honesty and professionalism I have received from Bank of America ( BOA ). On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX the was a fraudulent charge on my account for {$9100.00} in which I did not authorize by any means. I immediately reported it to the fraud department and they temporarily credited my account for that charge while they performed the investigation. On XX/XX/2023 the same merchant who made the fraudulent charge on my account credited my account for the {$9100.00}. When I noticed the credit I contacted the ( BOA ) and asked why that merchant had access to debit and credit my account without my authorization. The answer I received was that it was part of the investigation and that the temporary credit they had issued was going to be charged back since the merchant had already refunded the charge. It did not sound convincing to me but the funds were back into my account so I assumed it was all good. Shortly after I received a letter from BOA claiming that after their investigation I was the one who made the charge. I was very disappointed and felt accused of being part of a fraud. I went to the local branch and they told me there was nothing they could do to help, the only thing I was able to do was call the fraud department. When I called they told me they were going to clarify that and re-opened the case for further investigation. Then on XX/XX/2023 I received another letter stating the same unfair and disrespectful decision that I was the one who made the charge. To make matters worst now I see on my statement I am being charge interest rate fees on that fraudulent charge. Today is XX/XX/2023 and I called to dispute this and they keep on saying that I am responsible for that fee since I was they one who made that purchase. I am sincerely out of words and extremely disappointed.

Issue: Trouble during payment process
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: This complaint is against Bank of America NA, XXXX XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX for failing to adhere to the Consent Judgment entered against Bank of America in XXXX. With the help of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I received a resolution on my first mortgage because of the consent judgment against XXXX XXXX. Bank of America was supposed to cancel the debt of my second mortgage of over {$35000.00} because of the previous mentioned settlement and the significant drop in my property value. I received a letter from XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX requesting payment of debt. XXXX assigned this second mortgage on multiple occasions with the last assignment happening in XXXX, well after the creation of the mortgage in XXXX. Back in XXXX Bank of America sent a letter stating that the mortgage was canceled, but now I am aware that a lien still exists on my property. Therefore, Bank of America failed to provide me with relief as required by the consent judgment entered by the United States Department of Justice.
