Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Unable to open an account
Consumer Complaint: In 2020 I contacted bank of America after noticing my account had - {>= $1,000,000}, I was told someone used my bank card at an atm and tried to get money off it. I told them my card was stolen and they notified me that nothing was taken, I wasnt seen on the camera and I was cleared of suspicion through a form of a letter. Three years later I am on the XXXX list for banking what should have been declared identity theft was claimed as fraud. I have gone to the physical bank and talked to phone agents, spoken to the police and consumer agents to get advice and help. The bank has not complied and has gas lighted and lied in this situation. The dates they provided consumer agency and the physical letter I gave them proved that information was incorrect, though my disputes were denied and the bank isnt giving me the full information or the consumer agencies. I dont know what to do further without the banks help with details of information I cant get a police report. No money was said to be taken as told by agents via boa on the phone. The bank told me that they didnt have the data because it was over 2 years but they have invalid data to give saying I was fraudulent.

On XX/XX/2023 I contacted Bank of America Fraud Dispute Department and requested copies of the evidence the merchant provided to the bank so I can review their evidence and challenge, but the bank has refused to send me the requested documents. Bank of America is also using the same flawed automated fraud filter for deciding all fraud disputes. See CFPB XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX.

Issue: Money was not available when promised
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX a friend of mine from XXXX transferred XXXX XXXX to my checking account in Bank of America. He also sent a screenshot of a successful transaction from XXXX bank app. After noticing that the money was not available in my account after 3 days, I decided to call BofA support, where they told me that there is no incoming wire heading my way. I wanted a few more days and also asked my fried to run investigation on his end. His Bank was more cooperative and told that they see that the money reached BofA but not my account. I also called BofA again, and got the same answer as last time. It seems that the BofA have my money but do not release it. Furthermore they do not seem to be willing to help at all.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX, they have deducted money out of my account in the months of XXXX, XXXX and XXXX when I had cancelled the health Policy that I had with them ( XXXX ). I reached out to stop the transactions and asked for a refund but they promised they will but it never happens. They will ignore you and keep your money, at least that's how it feels. I gave them my account number and routing number for recurring payments and they did it in a form of a virtual check where they bank can not put a hold on incoming payments. I feel that I am probably not the only one that has been having this type of issues with such LLC.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: I have an account with Bank of America, it was hacked during the weekend of XXXX XXXX, 2023 and lost {$26000.00}, half of my savings. The transaction was done to a 'Bank of America XXXX XXXX XXXX whose number ends with XXXX '. The card number does not belong to my account. I have talked to couple of agents, they confirmed that after I changed my passwords, someone was trying to access my account through the old password. They also provided me records showing an I.P. address of XXXX, Kansas, was used to login while I resided in The XXXX, Texas during the time of hack. I did not receive any notifications or alerts that half of my savings were being transferred to a bank of America card which did not belong to my profile. I only received one email saying that a payee was added, but I did not see it on time. During the time, when I was complaining to Bank of America, another fraudulent transaction of {$5200.00} happened on my credit card, where money was transferred to an account ending in XXXX '. The amount was credited back but I am confused why wasn't the same adjudication applied to my savings account. Bank of America says that my own device was used to make the transactions, which maybe true as my PC was hacked. But when someone looses almost 50 % of their savings to a business card not belonging to them raises suspicion. The bank has also not provided me any timestamps of the fraudulent transactions I need help from CFPB on this matter
