Consumer Complaint: I had been looking on XXXX to rent a house in XXXX, Arizona for XX/XX/XXXX. A reply was received from the homeowner that the house was booked for my dates. Later on the same date, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, I received a reply from the same person " XXXX, Please read my answer in the attachment of this message as I have great news for you. '' Signed, XXXX who is the homeowner. The attachment was as follows " Dear XXXX, I have great news for you but more information, booking process, discounts, and further details please contact me only directly by email XXXX I did not give this a second thought as I know owners will sometimes book off the XXXX website and offer better deals or discounts. All of the correspondence I received was then via email, including a request to send a money transfer for the home 's cost for XXXX. That cost was {$3300.00} and the wire transfer was done to Bank of America in XXXX, Texas. After the wire transfer was received, I then received via email all the necessary documents that showed my booking contract, Rental booking form, and payment complete. Just in the last few days, I have begun to feel uneasy about this transaction, especially as I search within XXXX and see the reminders about not paying off site. Today I reached out to the homeowner with questions. She states our last communication was when she told me the home was not available. She had never heard anything else from me, nor did she receive any money from me. I immediately knew I had been scammed. My financial institution, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, ND, told me they could not do anything, since in essence, this was a cash transaction, and it was gone. I still had the address of the Bank of America in XXXX, Texas where the money went. I then called there and was given a phone number for the Bank of America Fraud Department When I phoned them, because I do not have a Bank of America account, they stated they could not help me. I did have the account number of where the money went, and I asked if they could tell me if the account was still open. That was the only information they could provide, and it is still open. I do have all the documentation that I received from this person, that was very official looking with the XXXX letterhead. I am devastated and at the very least, would hope to have this Bank of America account flagged, as you can be sure other fraudulent money has been heading that way. I don't know what else I can do other than file a police report. I have not attached documents because I am XXXX years old and not very tech savvy. I do have things to show/share via another media such as email, if needed.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: I opened a claim on XX/XX/2023 in the amount of {$8300.00} due to the transactions being fraudulent. I spoke with the company via phone about the transactions to try and receive a refund and was told Id have to file a fraud claim. Some one used my card multiple times to purchase bitcoin on a website named XXXX. I have no idea how bitcoin actually works, and was talking to the company to figure out what could be done to help get my funds back. I then reached out to my bank and told them about the situation and how this was a lot of money and very important money as well. They helped me to submit the claim and told me within 10 business days id have a temporary credit or some kind of answer. I then called again to see if I could get the credit sooner because this was a ton of money that had been taken from me. I was told that the claim will be escalated and ill receive the claim in 24-48 hours. A few days go by and I hear nothing! I was told if I call again, the rep would have to update the notes on the claim which would restart that 24-48 hours and essentially prolong receiving any credit. So I then waited and waited and heard nothing. Finally I decided to call back to get some kind of update and was told the claim had been denied!!! I asked why and was told id hear something soon. I asked could the claim be re-opened and was told no it couldn't. A few days later I get a message on my BofA message portal saying the claim was denied due to an agreement that I had with the company!! I was so confused!!!! I have no idea who the company is and never had any contracts with them. During that time I had just moved to XXXX from XXXX after transitioning out of the XXXX. I did not get a fair investigation at all!! My claim was completely rushed and closed just so I wouldn't be given any credit. I had XXXX issues with BofA prior to this. All of my direct deposits were sent there. Now I have lost all trust after being treated unfairly. I am demanding a new investigation! That money was very much needed and not fair that it was just taken away from me and the ones I trusted to help me, did the complete opposite. Claim ID : XXXX Amount : {$8300.00}

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened without my consent or knowledge
Consumer Complaint: Received a notification from the Credit Bureau ( XXXX ) on a request from Bank of America to open a travel rewards credit card on XX/XX/2023. I immediately put a freeze on the 3 credit reporting bureaus as it was fraudulent. I then notified Bank of America and followed their instructions to submit an application ( which they were mailing out ), complete and return. The application never arrived. I called back on XX/XX/XXXX and was told the application would be sent out " again '' and I should receive it withing the week. I did arrive. I sent back, called 2 days later and was told it was received and that I will receive the report within 30 days. I made a return call on XX/XX/2023, to inquire on the status of my case. I was told my request was denied because the picture on my driver 's license was too dark and that a letter was mailed on XX/XX/XXXX indicating such. I was told to resend and would need to wait an additional 30 days before report would be sent out. I resent the credentials ( driver 's license and passport ) on XX/XX/2023. Today is now XX/XX/2023. As per the agent, my latest credentials were not on file/not received. Bank of America is stalling. And I hope they're not they're not back to old tricks...
