Consumer Complaint: When I filed for unemployment benefits in XXXX, " a friend '' who helped me file the claim, logged into my XXXX account, and changed the address so that she was able to intercept the debit card and steal approximately {$21000.00}. I kept waiting and waiting for my debit card so when I finally called Bank of America, we found out together on the phone that the money had been stolen. She had the name of the person who transferred the money into another account. So right then and there ( this was in XXXX XXXX ) I filed a fraud claim over the phone with the bank. The bank had the name of the person who stole the money. They asked me if I would be willing to testify in court and I said yes. I never received anything from the bank after that. In the meantime, I set to work with XXXX on getting my unemployment account back in order so I could get the rest of the benefits. XXXX had disqualified me for failure to verify my identity. Finally during the summer of XXXX XXXX verified my identity and paid me for the benefits from XXXX. But they couldn't help me with all the XXXX benefits that I never received, {$21000.00} of benefits. XXXX paid those benefits, and they were paid to a Bank of America pre-paid debit card that was intercepted and then transferred off the card into a bank account - all unbeknownst to me. So this was a Bank of America fraud claim issue. I went back to Bank of America to find out what was going on with that. It was now XX/XX/XXXX. I found out that Bank of America had decided that my fraud claim I filed in XXXX of XXXX over the phone with a bank representative was not valid. However, in XXXX of XXXX they reopened the fraud claim on their own accord. Beginning XXXX of XXXX I started calling the Bank of America fraud claim department once a week for 6 or 7 months. I sent them a formal complaint letter late XX/XX/XXXX. Finally in XXXX of this year, the bank paid my fraud claim. A lot of money was deposited on my prepaid debit card that I had in my possession. I was able to withdraw a XXXX XXXXXXXX ( various transactions ) and then the card was frozen, and I had to go into the bank and verify my identity. I was in the bank for hours and I verified my identity and was trying to withdraw money. The bank manager was helping me with all of this. While I was there, we discovered that the card had been reported lost or stolen sometime the previous night. The bank manager said he could not help me. I went home and called the number on the back of the card and found out that I had a balance of negative {$18000.00} on my prepaid debit card. This was in XXXX of this year. I have been calling every couple of days. I have gone into the bank many times. The Bank says that they paid the fraud claim twice. Then they had to take back the money and that I would be credited the correct amount. They credited some of the money because now my account is negative {$2500.00}. They took back the money they paid me for the fraud claim. It was a valid claim! Now they tell me that my account will be credited with the correct amount. They have decided that correct amount is {$15000.00}. But XXXX paid out {$21000.00} to a debit card that I never got. On XX/XX/XXXX they said that it would take 48 hours to get my missing credits back on the card. It has been a month. It has been years really. I should have received this money way back in XX/XX/XXXX when I filed the claim. I have spent 100 hours at least dealing with this. I lost my apartment. It has been a nightmare that never ends.

I promptly reported the charge as fraud. Bank of America informed me that it would be taken care of, and temporarily refunded the amount to my account. However I received a letter in the mail XX/XX/23 that the funds would once again be removed on XX/XX/23 and if I wished to dispute it, to send them a letter. I mailed and faxed a letter on XX/XX/23 to once again dispute the charge as I did not authorize the purchase, and have not received a response.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 my barclay payment was processed against my checking account, I reviewed my account as I always do when its bill time. the account was positive and everything was okay. No other transactions were going through, the balance on account was like XXXX in there. Monday XX/XX/XXXX, I was at the gas station and pumped gas, not realizing I used the bofa card and not my chase card the account overdrew by XXXX so not my acct was overdrawn XXXX. I set up a transfer on Monday to go through to my bofa checking to resolved that issue. Today is XX/XX/XXXX, and the XXXX payment for XXXX that had already processed through is now showing being returned and the XXXX ( gas station ) charge that caused the overdraft is paid. I call customer service, got the texas call center that person hung up on me she didn't want to research obviously, so i called back got the XXXX call center talk to a XXXX, about XXXX XXXX and explained to her that the XXXX payment was already paid and all weekend up until I accidentally used the wrong card my acct then showed XXXX overdrawn. I told her i had a screen shot because I don't trust banks and I know they reverse and pay thing how they want to sometimes in the past and she said to bad i needed to call XXXX and have them reprocess it. I asked for a team lead, I asked for a supervisor and she told me that they all were busy so i had to wait XXXX hours for a call back. I told her i would hold, she said I couldnt because it would be a violation for me to hold for a supervisor and I then told her that I was going to file a complaint and she began to say your rude, and I said I havent said anything rude and this call is being recorded. She hung up on me. Now, I have a item that had paid already on Friday, being returned and will incur a XXXX late fee on my Credit Card. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXXXXXX my mortgage company XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX called to inform us they had not received our payment. We said well we sent the check to the po box as we always do and someone cashed it on XX/XX/XXXX. They informed us that they did not receive the check and they noticed it was endorsed on the back and they do not endorse the checks so to contact our bank as it was not them who cashed it. We contact our bank, XXXX immediately and on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX we learned that someone electronically deposited the check through Bank of America for the amount of {$2700.00}, check number XXXX. The check was not altered in anyway so Bank of America let this person deposit a check not payable to them and gave the person my money. We completed the appropriate form called the declaration of an unauthorized endorsement or altered item along with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for XXXX to file with Bank of America. I was informed via XXXX ( my bank ) that it could take up to 90 days to receive my funds back. In the meantime I had to come up with an additional mortgage payment to not be sent to collections! I called every month checking on my claim and the first 90 days nothing was done. In XXXX I called and they said because it was Bank of America they actually have 120 days once a claim is filed to respond. Well that day came and went and I continued to call every month about my claim. In XXXX we received a letter saying they closed my claim and if we wanted to pursue this on our own please contact the bank who it was cashed with. The letter XXXX emailed my husband also had the incorrect address on it as we never ever lived in Indiana and neither of us know the address, and thought that was weird. When I called on XX/XX/XXXX to follow up the claim was escalated and I would hear back within 3 business day but that I needed to follow up. When I did I was told there was nothing more XXXX could do for me as Bank of America has not responded to any of the letters they have sent, but the claim will not be closed ( contradicting the letter they sent? ). I then called again in XXXX and XXXX with the same outcome and in XX/XX/XXXX we had news! Bank of America had asked for all the documents again for the claim. I was then told it could take 90 days for them to review, which they already did. I called again in XXXX and XXXX with the same result XXXX can not do anything more then send the letters to Bank of America if they choose not to respond XXXX hands are tied and I would have to pursue other ventures outside of the bank. When I asked what that meant XXXX would not elaborate. The frustrating thing is that someone stole {$2700.00}. XXXX from me and my bank XXXX wont give me my funds because Bank of America have not admitted fault in the fraud and I am out that money that we could really use!!! I have filed a police report as well and nothing has come of this. We are going on NINE months and Bank of America will not give me my money and XXXX says they will not reimburse me as they are not responsible!!! PS we no longer write checks for our mortgage- lesson learned : (

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX my mother passed away. We held joint account with BofA. On XX/XX/XXXX my brother fraudulently transferred funds out using mothers digital access. Bof A was made aware of this fraud on XX/XX/XXXX after i checked account after receiving letter from BofA Estate Services on XX/XX/XXXX. I filed fraud complaint with BofA at which time the bank told me the funds were transferred twice to accounts in my brothers name. Bof A knowingly engaged in fraud by refusing to recover funds stolen and promptly return to my account. My brother was not authorized legally to withdraw any funds from my joint account with my mother after her death. I have made him aware of these facts as well as receiving confirmation from numerous employees of BofA of the fraudulent funds transfer. BofA continues to engage in fraud against me.
