Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I was in the XXXX XXXX on a business trip. I hired a driver ( like a taxi ) to take me from the XXXX airport to XXXX XXXX. I agreed to pay {$200.00} for the gas since it is so expense there. When we arrived at the so called gas station, I had my credit card out and an employee stole the card right out of my hands and went into his office. Right away a ran after him and asked for my card back or I will call the police. I do not speak XXXX and he did not speak XXXX. After about 5 mintues he gave my card back. Immiately after receiving my card, I received a smartphone text from Bank of America, asking if DECLINE or ACCEPT a charge of {$3500.00} from a business in the XXXX XXXX I immediately replied DECLINE. Then, I immediately called BofA and they said " Do not worry, you declined it so we will credit/refund the transaction on your account and de-activate your card and send you a new card. They said the employeee must have taken a photo of the card because they continued to try to charge up to {$10000.00} on my account. On XX/XX/XXXX Bank of America put the fraud charge of {$3500.00} back on my CC account. I immediately called BofA and explained what happened and they opened up a fraud case. About 4 weeks later, I received a letter from them stating it was not fraud since there was a transaction of {$200.00}, making me an established recurring customer. However, BofA declined the original transaction of {$200.00}. I paid {$200.00} in cash and requested a receipt and the business said their printer is broken. I continued every week to call the BofA Fraud department in XXXX, AZ. asking for an update. Each time I called I had to explain the complete story over and over again. When I asked why aren't their notes from previous calls, the said they do not know. I suspect the driver and the business worked together on this fraud scam. Bank of America still has not refunded me the {$3500.00} plus interest they have been charging me. It has now been past 90 days and I still do not have a resolution.

Consumer Complaint: The existence of a derogatory rating on my account is causing me significant concern. I am deeply worried about its potential impact on my credit. It has already resulted in the denial of a recent loan application and an increase in the interest rates on my existing credit accounts. I want to emphasize the severe financial and emotional distress that this negative rating has caused me and will continue to cause until it is resolved.

Consumer Complaint: On my Bank of America XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ending in XXXX, there was an unauthorized charge of {$980.00} charged by XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/22. I noticed the fraudulent charge later that night and reported it to Bank of America right away. Bank of America told be to relax and issued me the credit. They canceled the old card and mailed me a new one. However, after a week, I see the amount of {$980.00} came back to my account for no reason. I called the bank again, and they told me after their investigation, they decided it was a valid charge ( but It was not since I never used the card ). I let them reopened the fraud claim, but never heard back since then, and the charge was still there.

Consumer Complaint: The last few due dates, I have called in advance to tell Bank of America that Id be late paying. They always give this hotline number, but the efforts are futile! The department doesnt waive late fees. I dont understand the purpose in calling. The interest rates are sky high! Im over the limit main due to high interest rates. I am requesting that {$78.00} be credited to my account ending in XXXX. Im before the XXXX gets here for the next due date I can pay the minimum minus the late fee from XXXX and XXXX ( {$78.00} ). I am requesting the internet rate be lowered as well on this card. It eats up the remaining credit and this triggers a decrease in my credit score rating.

Consumer Complaint: I was charged {$350.00} by XX/XX/XXXXafter my rental was returned and our affairs settled. I contacted the branch about the charge and was told they had no records of that charge and it must have been a different department used for tickets. I then called that department with the number supplied by the branch. I was told again no record of that charge.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: Upon waking today XX/XX/XXXX I saw an alert from XXXX XXXX that one of my accounts was closed. I then called Bank of America, who the card was issued from, and was told it was closed and XX/XX/XXXX and that on XX/XX/XXXX a letter was mailed to me which would explain the reason for the closure ( which I have still not received ). Unsure as to why they would send a paper letter being that I am fully signed up with all electronic statements and notifications. When I called, they offered up no options, solutions or further information. I opened the card in XXXX of XXXX and had a plan to use it for several large purchases within the next couple of months if not sooner. There was no balance on the card as I hadn't used it yet and an open available credit of {$6000.00}. My credit score has now taken a large hit as well, so I am unable to apply for a new card and get that same credit limit. This account was not even a year old and then closed without notice of any kind. It is unacceptable to punish consumers by closing their credit card only because we didn't use it fast enough. We planned what we were going to purchase on this card in advance and now we have nothing. Most promotional periods even last a year, and we got not opportunity to take advantage of that like we planned because they closed the account before the one-year mark. This is very frustrating especially since we have another card with BOA that we have been using. So obviously we make purchases on our cards we just hadn't used the one they closed yet. This is very shady and, in my opinion, illegal behavior.
