Consumer Complaint: I received a settlement check and took it to my bank. the cashier refused to process the check because the check did not have my name on it. It was blank. I showed them the disbursement document issued by my lawyer 's office but that did not help. I wrote my name on the check, still they refused to process the check. I deposited the check using the ATM. After several days I received a letter from the bank refusing the check because " it is altered ''. i made an appointment and went to ask for an explanation from the bank. the designated bank representative explained to me that they refused to process the check because my name was not printed on the check and was handwritten. i asked them if that illegal to have the name handwritten on the check. the response was " even if it is legal does not mean it is right ''! I protested that they refuse a properly written check just because they did not like the way it was written and asked if they run checks to verify its authenticity. no response was given. the bank representative said she did not think they run any checks. I asked to retrieve the check. they refused to give the check back to me. they said that I should get another check from the party who wrote the check to me.

I would like to submit nor file a complaint against Bank Of America, for until now I haven't receive any response from them regarding with a dispute transactions ( ATM ) ever since I sent my written Dispute Letter several tmes through email, regular snail mail and I even fax It to them. It's been over a month now and it really frustrated me especially every tiime I tried to make a call I couldn't go through to customer service for I always be on a queue for almost an hour and that's ridiculous, and that's when I thought of just keep sending emails an fax my letter along with my written Dispute letter stating all my concerns and of course all of my info inorder to identify my identity and so on. And I just got my new phone 3 days ago ( a free phone and service that I he government offers ) so I couldn't try to forward my concern to u guys. The 3 transacons that I disputed nor would file a formal complaint with CFPB for since I didn't get any response from Bank of America Dispute Dept., first complaint is an ATM error or ATM did not dispense any cash for {$300.00} in which i was trying to withdraw {$300.00} but as soon I check my account a {$300.00} ( including atm fees ) was taken out from my account. And this happened on XX/XX/ at a XXXX located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, California at around XXXXXXXX XXXX. Second complaint is a transaction on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX {$20.00} at XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX, California for in which my Bank of America Debit card declined the transaction when I was about to pay for some few items. And the third complaint is a transacton for XX/XX/ in the amount of {$15.00} at XXXX at XXXX. XXXX, XXXX XXXX California my Bank of America Debit Card decline the transaction. I hope u could help me with this and really wanted to know why they don't response to my emails, mails and even when I faxed them my written Dispute letter so I could at least know whether they received my written Dispute leer, but I know they received them because I sent them in multi-ways of sending it and so as for the fax that I have the receipts that it was sent successfully .I won't be wasting my time for reaching out to them if all of my story is just fabricates but logically why should i send such false claim and everything nor for what I'm dispung is honestly legit and I really need my money for I'm facing hardship as of now. Consumer Complaint: Those payments were made on time. I am requesting that the late payment markings be updated to reflect my accurate payment history. If there is any confusion, I suggest you contact myself or the customer service representative of the said accounts. Despite the multiple previous written requests, the unverified item listed below still remains on my credit report in violation of Federal Law. You are required under the FCRA to have a copy of the original creditors documentation on file to verify that this information is 100 % true, accurate & correct. BANK OF AMERICA XXXX was reporting inaccurate information on my credit report in violation of Federal Law. This was frustratingly unacceptable, in accordance with FCRA you must provide accurate information accordingly.

Consumer Complaint: Bank of America continues it's discriminatory practice against me after over 10 years of living in the United States based on my place of birth and nationality. I am an XXXX XXXX and I have been living and working in the United States as a XXXX since XXXX. My source of income is solely from my job in the United States, and my spendings has always been confined to the borders of the United States. Bank of America started a campaign of harassment against XXXX born customers like me since XXXX which continues to this date. I repeatedly provided information regarding my legal residence to the Bank of America over the past 6-7 years. With continued harassments and account restrictions, I was forced to close my checking and saving accounts in XXXX leading to significant financial hardship for me and my family. Unfortunately, I still have to endure the BoA campaign of harassment as I still have two Credit Cards with this institution and since these are my oldest lines of Credit, losing them will adversely affect my credit score at this point of time. Bank of America falsely claims " Like all United States Financial Institutions '' it has to continue this discriminatory practice against XXXX born customers however I am working with close to two dozen other financial institutions in this country and Bank of America is THE ONLY financial institution with this appalling practice of harassment and discrimination against customers based on their place of birth and nationality. With each request for documents in the past, I filled a complaint with the CFPB and the prior complaint are marked as " company contacted me '' however I have never received any contact from the bank before and their harassments continues to this date unhindered.

Consumer Complaint: I was late in making a payment. I submitted payment to pay off the account balance in its entirety. After I made the payment they processed interest due on the late payment. They reported that interest due as the account being delinquent to the credit reporting agencies. I called Bank of America and spoke with their customer representative and went through the sequence of events and asked why my account was reported as delinquent, when it clearly was never delinquent. His response after reviewing the account information was that he could see the account was paid but their systems are set up at corporate level and he could nothing about it. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was told none were available but one would contact me within XXXX hours. I never received a follow up phone call from anyone at Bank of America.

Consumer Complaint: My card was blocked because Bank of America mistakenly put it on the fraud watch list, as confirmed by their fraud servicing department, there is no problem with this account and it was misplaced under fraud watch. In this case, a simple call to them and provide my personal information would be sufficient to get the account unlocked. However, their agents had been telling me to visit a branch which is more than XXXX miles away from my home since the account was locked in XXXX. Similarly, after I filed a complaint against the bank with CFPB, their resolutions agent XXXX XXXX who authored the attached final resolution letter directed me to email my sensitive personal information including scanned pages of government IDs to an unmonitored email address XXXX. After sending the information to this email address, it turned out to be an unmonitored email inbox. This caused great security risk to my personal information and violates my rights. I have also called their customer service line many times but no one knows about this email address nor do they know what to do.

Consumer Complaint: Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Subject : Urgent Investigation and Intervention in Unauthorized Transactions on Bank of America Prepaid Account To whom it may concern, I, XXXX XXXX, holder of a Bank of America Prepaid Account, have unfortunately been the victim of a series of unauthorized transactions and activities on my account. Despite multiple attempts to rectify this situation with the Bank of America Prepaid Services Fraud and Claims Department, my grievances remain unresolved. Claim Number : XXXX Below is a concise account of the events and discrepancies surrounding my account : XXXX. **Unauthorized Transactions** : Since XX/XX/2020, I have been unable to access my account. Upon attempts to log in recently, I discovered multiple unauthorized transactions. Someone gained illegal access to my account using a stolen debit card associated with it. Although I have now updated my password and requested a new card, the unauthorized transactions remain unaddressed. XXXX. **Fraudulent Activities** : Email notifications have informed me of XXXX transactions carried out in my name, actions I have never sanctioned. Moreover, an account with Bank of America was illicitly opened under my identity, and my stimulus packages, intended to be credited to me, were diverted to this fraudulent account. XXXX. **Physical Absence** : As evidence to my lack of involvement, I was out of the country during the time of these suspicious activities. Relevant documents attached validate my claim. Under the provisions of Regulation E of the Electronic Fund Transfer Act ( EFTA ), financial institutions are mandated to investigate and resolve unauthorized transfers within 10 business days of notification. If unresolved within this timeframe, a provisional credit equaling the disputed amount must be made to the account. Despite it being over 45 days since my initial complaint, Bank of America has yet to award any provisional credit, a direct violation of the EFTA. Moreover, Section 908 of the EFTA necessitates that all investigations be completed within 90 days. With already over half this duration elapsed and no solution in sight, I implore the CFPB to intercede on my behalf, ensuring that Bank of America adheres to the stipulated regulations. The distress caused by these unauthorized transactions, coupled with the inability to access unemployment benefits, has placed me in a precarious financial position. This situation not only undermines the trust customers place in their financial institutions but also reflects a gross negligence on the part of Bank of America. I kindly request the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to : XXXX. Expedite an investigation into this matter. XXXX. Ensure that Bank of America credits the provisional amount of {$23000.00} to my account immediately, as mandated by Regulation E. XXXX. Consumer Complaint: I opened a business checking account in XXXX by going to BOA small business promotion.bankofamerica.com at the time the website listed offer deposited XXXX and will received {$500.00} bonus after 60 days. I called BOA after the account was opened was told the coupon code applies and will get the credit in XXXX, but in XXXX I called multiple times either was transfer to different department ( sale vs customer service ), or told it will be escalated to manager for review, or the case was closed without reason. Finally I called again XX/XX/13 was told the rep the management closed the case as offer doesn't match target a while back. I was never told the outcome until I contacted BOA and the rep couldn't get that information until she talked to someone higher up. If the offer isn't a match based on account, then it shouldn't be listed on BOA website and after I called was told it will be credit in XXXX, customer had to call multiple times to inquiry and when the case is closed BOA failed to disclose to the customer. I believe BOA intentionally deceive customer into making depositing and prolong the process and refused to disclose the outcome in hope the customer won't close out the accounts and keep the deposit in bank.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/, I booked a pre paid hotel reservation on XXXX for XXXX nights at the XXXX XXXX, New York. Total charge was {$2900.00} ( {$2300.00} for room + $ XXXX ) as shown on the XXXX receipt, attached. The receipt also indicated PAID IN FULL. Neither at check in nor at check out at the hotel, during my stay, was I told of any additional charges nor given a receipt for XXXX. I was therefore shocked to find a {$430.00} charge by the hotel on my credit card months later. I called the hotel to find out why and they said it was for taxes. I pointed out that I had prepaid taxes as shown on my receipt, and that the reservation was prepaid in full, in advance. The gentle man I spoke to promised to look into it. I also called XXXX immediately and the representative and her XXXX I spoke said there shouldnt be any additional charge as the reservation was fully paid for in advance. A month passed and yet the charge remained and so I called XXXX again and the XXXX told me to stay on the phone while she calls the hotel. She returned and told me the hotel had agreed to refund the money as there never should have been any additional charge. I asked for an email for my records, and she sent me an email indicating same - please find attached. I have told all of these to Bank of America but they still wont take the charge off my account and insist I pay it. Again, the reservation was prepaid paid in full, never did the hotel tell me I had any outstading charges when I stayed there, I never was given a receipt for any additional charges either. I am therefore disputing the total charge, {$430.00}.
