Consumer Complaint: Amex refused to honor their promotional spending offer for my card ending in XXXX. I enrolled my card ending in XXXX with the following Amex offer : " Enroll in this offer to earn a {$20.00} statement credit each month you spend {$20.00} or more on eligible U.S. restaurant purchases with your Card. Whether it's dine-in, takeout or delivery, you can redeem this offer each month through XX/XX/XXXX. This is in addition to the Points you already earn with your Card. '' I had two qualified transactions in XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX was {$18.00} charged on XX/XX/XXXX, and the other one was {$4.00} charged on XX/XX/XXXX. However, the second transaction 's post date ( the date that the charge is posted to the account ) was XXXX. Even though the transaction date ( when the charge was made ) was XX/XX/XXXX, Amex refused to issue {$20.00} promotional credits for XXXX, because Amex used 'post date ' to determine the credits eligibility, which is unfair. Amex did not disclose that they use 'post date ' rather than 'transaction date ' to determine the credits eligibility in the XXXX XXXX XXXX , which is unfair to customers.

Consumer Complaint: There are several Accounts on my file that I have no recollection of. I never opened these accounts, I tried reaching out to these lenders but they have not taken any action and are still negatively reporting in my credit report. 1. XXXX XXXX Balance {$120.00} Shows charged off. I never opened this account. 2. XXXX XXXX Balance {$490.00} Shows closed. I never opened this account. 3.XXXX XXXX Balance {$0.00} I never opened this account 4. American Express Balance {$0.00} I never opened this account 5. Department of Education This loan was was supposed to be in deferrment and sold to other companies, they are reporting wrong negative late payments. I was never late. 6. XXXX funding Balance {$460.00} They claimed this account was collections for XXXX XXXX. Again I never had any open account for XXXX XXXX as they are claiming. I have several paid off accounts on my credit report. I pay my bills, I will not make mistake of not paying my bills.

Consumer Complaint: I was getting increased and harassing collection attempt calls from American Express about an account I did not recognize. They called my house after XXXX and my relatives house about this debt which is a violation of the FDCPA. I also noticed it on my credit report and I contacted American Express ( AMEX ) by letter telling them about their incomplete inaccurate and unfair reporting of this account and that I did not recognize this account on XX/XX/XXXX with no response. On XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX I wrote them letters for not responding and violating the FCRA and not reporting to the Credit Reporting Agencies XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX that I disputed this account with no response each time from AMEX regarding this account. I did however receive a letter from a collection company named XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. They claimed they are trying to collect a debt from AMEX and for me to reply if I did not recognize the account. On XX/XX/XXXX I sent a letter to XXXX XXXX XXXX disputing this erroneous account with AMEX and requesting that they produce verification proof according to Federal and State Law in the form of a contract with my signature. On XX/XX/XXXX I then sent another letter to XXXX XXXX XXXX that they did not produce valid proof according to the law and to have no further contact with me about this account and if they did I was going to file a complaint with the CFPB, my State Attorney General 's Office, and the XXXX XXXX XXXX. Since then they sent another package of Statements of this account with my name on it but no contract with my signature. Neither XXXX XXXX XXXX or AMEX produced a contract with my signature on it to verify and prove this account was mine by the standard of Consumer Federal and State Law. I was sent statements by XXXX XXXX XXXX that I did not recognize with my name on it but not contract with my signature that I entered into an agreement for credit with AMEX. I have seen plenty of complaints against both AMEX and XXXX XXXX XXXX for harassment of consumers by breaking the FDCPA and with other people complaining of similar terrible treatment and inaccurate reporting and them breaking the consumer federal and state law of not responding in 30 days.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I purchased a one-year subscription for XXXX e-cards for {$5.00}. There was no indication in any of the content presented about a monthly subscription. In fact, in XXXX, I purchased the same e-card subscription for {$5.00}. As I completed the fields for paying for the subscription, I specifically indicated that I did not wish to be auto-billed for anything. I have the receipt that shows " Autobill. No '' Unfortunately, the company auto-billed my AMEX card on the XXXX of the month any way beginning in XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX. Because we are regular customers at XXXX stores, I didn't realize the monthly XXXX charges were by the E-card division, and therefore unauthorized, until XX/XX/XXXX. ( We go to XXXX stores multiple times a month because my daughter with special needs likes to buy balloons from XXXX. ) I attempted to get a refund through my credit card company, AMEX, and could only reverse the XX/XX/XXXX charge. XXXX e-card misrepresented that I gave authorization for the monthly fees and AMEX never requested documentation from me to prove otherwise. My attempts at obtaining a refund directly from the merchant were unsuccessful because, as they represented to AMEX, they felt that it was " understood '' that it was a $ 5 monthly subscription for e-card services, and this they state with no evidence of affirmative approval from me. AMEX says that my responses to their closure of my disputes were untimely ( they notified me by mail ). Of course, they did not factor in the COVID-19 pandemic and the notable slow-down of USPS resulting in longer mail delivery times.

Consumer Complaint: I have an american express XXXX XXXX XXXX card that was promised an companion ticket that I could use for any domestic flight anywhere in the USA that XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. There was no disclosure on the advertising on what if any restrictions applied to this companion ticket. I called twice, my wife also called before we purchased this card and talked with different representatives of american express both times and they all stated that there would be no restrictions on the companion ticket as long as it was used in the continental USA. They also all stated that we would get a companion ticket the first year that we had the card, which after we paid the XXXX dollars they stated that oh no, we get that companion ticket our second year. I stayed for a second year because they had refused to refund my money, after another XXXX dollars they sent me my companion ticket which come to find out is riddled with restrictions. You can only fly certain " grades '' of flights which are around XX/XX/20 flights that they offer. Its a joke and I would like to get all my monies back that I paid for this ridiculous scam of a card.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Consumer Complaint: I contacted the Credit Reporting Agencies XXXX about an account with American Express XXXX AMEX XXXX which I don't recognize and that were reporting on my credit report. The account numbers information was being reported with incomplete information and partial account numbers which are a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting act. I contacted XX/XX/XXXX about this error on my credit report and sent a letter to XX/XX/XXXXon XX/XX/XXXX explaining this to them and requesting that they delete this erroneous account. To my surprise, I received a response from XX/XX/XXXXwhere they claim they were able to verify and update the information with AMEX as accurate, however the credit report they sent had missing fields like date of last payment was missing which is a violation of Metro 2 and the FCRA and inaccurate, unverifiable, missing, and unfair information such as a partial account number with asterisks instead of the full account number. I then sent a letter on XX/XX/XXXX asking them for their method of verification for this account and the errors which was a violation of the law and for them to delete this account. I then received a response after sending a previous letter to them claiming they could not find my information and requesting documentation to verify my identity after they found it previously with my previous letter. On XX/XX/XXXX I sent them the required documents requested to verify my identity with the letters sent previously and did not receive a response, so I sent another letter on XX/XX/XXXX that they were in violation of Federal and State Consumer Laws for not responding within 30 days. Finally, On XX/XX/XXXX they responded again claiming they could not find my file and wanted me to send documents again to verify my identity. On XX/XX/XXXX I sent them the documents requested and the original letters sent prior and they replied back on with a copy of a credit report with missing, incomplete and unverifiable account number for the AMEX account and other accounts as well as missing fields again but did not address my complaint about the erroneous account. Finally on XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter fromXX/XX/XXXX asking me to contact the original creditor if I had an issue with the account. In addition, I also contacted American Express XXXX AMEX XXXX by letter telling them about their incomplete inaccurate and unfair reporting of this account and that I did not recognize this account on XX/XX/XXXX with no response. On XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX I wrote them letters for not responding a violating the FCRA and not reporting to the XX/XX/XXXXthat I disputed this account with no response each time from AMEX regarding this account. Neither XX/XX/XXXX or AMEX did not do their investigation in this matter and replied more than 30 days late or not at all and are reporting the information inaccurately about this AMEX account which is severely affecting my creditworthiness and ability to obtain a car and other credit opportunities which would afford me to live a better quality life. I also noticed they have over XXXX complaints in the last 3 months with other people complaining of similar terrible treatment and inaccurate reporting and them breaking the consumer federal and state law of not responding in 30 days.

Consumer Complaint: Today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) received my monthly invoice for my Small Business Plus Blue Card from Amex. Included was an announcement of APR increase to 16.24 % effective XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX 11.24 % .This will affect Purchase after XX/XX/XXXX as well as prior balance of business before XX/XX/XXXX. Thus this prior balance under the prior 11.24 % will be hit with 16.24 %. Clearly a violation of the Card Act XXXX. Will provide the notification page this as an Attachment to this complaint. I immediately went to Amex on this issue, initially spoke with a rep who then transferred me on her supervisor. She took my notes and forwarded on with the company. At that time she confirmed that prior balances would be affected and asked her to include the Card Act within my notes. I asked if I could get a copy of the complaint notes and to whom they were sent and was advised I could not. As a loyal client for many years, was very disappointed with the treatment and experience.
