Consumer Complaint: The application for credit card was submitted online XX/XX/2021 I received a suspicious phone call from American Express XXXX stating they were from the fraud department of American Express asking me to verify my full SS # not the last four digits, I was not able to comply with giving my personal information to an unknown person, it is very suspicious of a credit card company to send a letter be sent from my bank to verify my home address and that they were unable to verify my SS #, in todays modern technology all information of previously accounts with any credit card company closed or open account access you have to have a legal record of accurate information is sent to the credit bureaus the matter of their verification of my information is not needed if they are the actual credit card company all the information is in the database records. My name address is the same previous account no with American Express all is verified by the Credit Card Company.

Consumer Complaint: AMERICAN EXPRESS RE : Closing of credit card accounts with no explanation To Whom It May Concern : I am complaining about American Express unlawful sales practices to force us customers to open accounts that immediately are closed and harming us as a consumer and my credit score rating as well. I believe sales people misled me by pushing me to open new accounts in an attempt to boost sales but knowingly would close the accounts almost immediately after opening. As a result, my credit score was ruined and my relationship with other potential credit cards was harmed. On XX/XX/XXXX I applied for a new credit card AX Magnet with an offer of {$200.00} cash back if I spent {$1000.00} in the first three months plus 0 % intro for 15 months and no annual fee. I was immediately approved same day with a credit limit of {$9500.00} and the card was shipped. My credit score at the time was XXXX almost perfect. On XX/XX/XXXX next day I was notified by email that my credit card had been cancelled. There was no reason given but AX was letting me know that not to use card to avoid any surprises. A hard inquiry was done on my credit report when I applied. But also, a bad history was reflected on my credit score due to the cancellation of the credit cards. My credit score went down. Regarding the AX Magnet card, I had called earlier a couple of times asking if it was ok to apply for a new AX card in the previous months. The previous 2 cards I had recently were closed in XX/XX/XXXX without a reason. I was confused what is going on. I was told and coerced by sales people that all the offers would apply and to go ahead and apply again in like 3 months. I was told it was ok to apply to as many and that they did not know why my accounts were closed a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and an Amex XXXX XXXX. I was told I would be approved and no problem and all offers applied. I was misled in an attempt to boost sales knowingly that my account would be closed. Whenever I called AX to inquire into my account, salespeople misrepresented awards and fees. On one occasion on XX/XX/XXXX I was pushed into signing for the XXXX XXXX XXXX with {$0.00} annual fee. Regular is {$95.00} dollars. I was told that as a XXXX XXXX XXXX card holder my new card would be free and I could enjoy all the benefits of a preferred member. No credit check and just accept the terms. I was told that after the first year the card would be {$95.00} dollars. I did not see any benefits of having the XXXX XXXX XXXX shortly thereafter and I expressed my frustrations letting some of the reps that after the first year I would not renew it and that if I could back to my old XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was told no problem here at AX dont push customers into signing nothing they dont want. Well to my surprise 2 months later on XX/XX/XXXX my card was cancelled and no reason given. I kept calling trying to find a reason but nobody seemed to have an answer. One rep told me that it could have been because of too many disputes on my credit cards. But all of my disputes were fair and legit and as a cardholder I had the right to dispute certain merchants. I believe AX used aggressive and misleading sales tactics go boost its sales knowingly they just wanted to add numbers but not keep customers for the long haul and that did not pay for yearly premiums. I am upset that my credit score was ruined and that AX misled me into applying into their credit card offers, knowingly they would be cancelling my credit cards in a limited time. I was harmed as a result of their misleading sales tactics and customers retention rules and policies. I want to also add that I believe in their products and currently have opened a High Yield Savings Account XXXX with AX. The account has a balance of about {$15000.00}. I opened this account even after my accounts were cancelled this year XXXX. Up to this point no reason has been given of why my cards were cancelled. I believe American Express has violated some rules and regulations that require further investigation by regulatory agencies. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Consumer Complaint: Bluebird Pre Pay Card American Express I was charged for a purchase made on XX/XX/2021 that was fraudulently charged and debited from my account in the amount of {$420.00} I immediately called Bluebird fraud department XXXX and a dispute was made that same day. I received an email from them stating that based upon their investigation they have determined that no error occurred and that the transaction in question was authorized. Therefore, the transaction is NOT eligible for credit to your account. I called them and was told that the investigation is closed and that I have to open another one. I advised them that I want proof, documents, name and contact information on the creditor. I was advised that they didn't have the information and that I had to WRITE a letter to Bluebird Customer Care which I did and informed them that this issue is to be resolved and my {$420.00} refunded back to me. This is FRAUD and their decision is unacceptable and want answers. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: Prior to XX/XX/XXXX XXXX contacted American Express concerning debit to my card, which showed entries of XXXX penalty for a declined payments-these payments were auto set up and were being paid from my checking account and was being paid up until sometime in XXXX, when subsequently I realized that this debit was occurring, I call AA and was told that they can not waive because MY BANK, in this XXXX XXXX XXXX declined payment. I contacted XXXX and they have not record of this decline. Subsequently In frustration with XXXX reps not being able to resolve, I wrote to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, ( copies of the correspondence and post office receipt is attached ) outlining my concerning, with evidence. To date I have not received any correspondence concerning this issue. On XX/XX/XXXX I paid to to the card what I believe I legitimately owes them, and intend to discontinue ANY relationship with them, since it appears that they are treating this matter with utter contempt, notwithstanding, I would like to have this resolved. Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Consumer Complaint: I saw an offer in the client online portal for American Express for the XXXX XXXX card with a promotional offer of 0 % APR for 15 months. I have two cards with American Express already and have never made a late payment nor closed any cards. I was immediately approved for the new card with a {$15000.00} credit line. A few weeks later I saw interest charges on my account and called customer service. They informed me that the 0 % APR offer was revoked. I had not been given notification from a pop-up nor email or secure message that I was ineligible for this offer. I read the TOS and did not find anything regarding ineligibility. Customer service was rude to me and refused to help. As a consumer, this feels to me like a bait and switch. As it stands, there is currently a promotional offer for the XXXX XXXX XXXX card at 0 % APR for 15 months in the client portal, so even now, there is a highly misleading offer being falsely advertised to consumers.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email correspondence from American Express that my platinum card account & blue XXXX account were canceled immediately without any reasoning. The emails stated that I would have to tell my additional card members that the account was closed, I should destroy the cards, and that if I have any recurring changes that I contact the responsible company. The emails also stated I would receive this same information by letter. These letters did not arrive until weeks later but were dated for XX/XX/XXXX. The cancellation notification letter states that American Express decided to close these accounts for the following reasons : American Express ' assessment of my monthly payments on credit cards in relation to my average delinquent balance with American Express indicated by XXXX ( in which I was told to contact XXXX ), a recent payment was returned by American Express ( this was due to American Express waiting days later to deduct funds from my bank account rather than immediately when I placed my account payment ), the revolving balance on my American Express account is too high ( there was not a balance maximum for my Platinum card, and I was well under the maximum balance for my Blue XXXX card ), and that the amount currently oustanding on my account is too high relative to the income provided on my application ( the balance was approximately {$9500.00}, however, my salary is well over {$120000.00} yearly ). In addition, these letters states that my FICO score was obtained from XXXX, and was used in their credit decision. My credit score on the letter was shown to be XXXX which is excellent. I called American Express on XX/XX/XXXX in order to resolve this issue and reinstate my accounts. The phone representative took my income information, and stated that she would then seek to reopen the account, and I would be notified by letter. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from American Express stating that they were unable to reinstate my account because I had an unpaid balance ( the same balance that I attempted to pay three times prior but according to American Express they had to return the funds back to my bank account for no reasons provided. I have paid my balance to American Express, and this was notified on XX/XX/XXXX, and shown on my XXXX Credit Card Statement, however, I was still then charged {$58.00} for balance interest for an account that is closed, and has no balance. I was denied the right to pay my balance to American Express and then received an interest charge. I have attached both rejection letters, both XX/XX/2021 monthly statements, my rejection reasoning letters, and XX/XX/XXXX Credit Report & XX/XX/XXXX credit report from XXXX.
