Consumer Complaint: This number is continuously calling me multiple times a day and not ever leaving a voicemail. I dont answer because I am assuming it is a scam since they are not leaving any messages as to why they are contacting me. I have called back once and it is an automated American Express message asking for my social security number. I am nervous to give my personal information over the phone since I have not received any other forms of communication from them ( letter, messages etc. ) I did search the phone number and it says its a possible debt collector but I am not sure. I have never missed a payment on my American Express credit card and am paying it off so I do not understand why they would be contacting me.

Subissue: Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021, I received an offer in the mail to sign up for the XXXX XXXX American Express card. The offer was : Earn a XXXX bonus points, a {$100.00} statement credit and 0 % APR for the first 12 months. I signed up through the XXXX XXXX app, which also had the offer available to me on XX/XX/2021. On my first statement from American Express I did not incur any interest charges. I did receive the XXXX bonus points and the {$100.00} statement credit but since XXXX I have now been charged with 4 separate interest charges ; XX/XX/XXXX - {$51.00}, XX/XX/XXXX - {$100.00}, XX/XX/XXXX - {$100.00} and XX/XX/XXXX - {$97.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, I initiated a chat with a representative asking about the offer and an investigation was opened, I was told to follow up in 10-15 days. On XX/XX/XXXX, I followed up and was told that the investigation was still open and being reviewed. On XX/XX/XXXX, I followed up once again and was told this was a " new '' offer that was emailed to me on XX/XX/XXXX and didn't apply to me on XX/XX/XXXX. I told them I had a mailer that I received on XX/XX/XXXX and a screenshot of the offer in the XXXX app before I applied. I was told to send them the documents in the mail or by fax. I then faxed the documents that day. On XX/XX/XXXX, I followed up to see if they had received my faxed documents. The representative said that documents should be uploaded to the document center not faxed in. So I then upload the same documents through the link provided. On XX/XX/XXXX, I followed up to make sure the documents had been seen. I was then told that they couldn't see the documents and to upload them using a reference number. When trying to upload using the reference number, I received a red alert and it wouldn't let me submit under that reference number like it wasn't valid. I then proceeded to call in and speak with someone. I ended up speaking with the manager, XXXX who gave me a credit of {$100.00} for one of the interest charges. And he had me resubmit the documents again using the document center and told me that he would make sure this would get taken care of. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called again. My first call put me on hold and hung up on me. The second call, I spoke with XXXX and XXXX and was told that the resolution date was XX/XX/XXXX but it wasn't resolved and they had no new info and I should just call back in 2 weeks and then maybe there will be update.

Consumer Complaint: I believe I am a victim of identity theft. Regardless of the multiple written requests, the unverified accounts listed below are still reporting on my credit report in violation of Federal Law. I disputed the fraudulent information on AMEX from my credit report and I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. I did not receive any money, goods, or services as a result of identity theft. I have done many attempts to reach out to the Credit Bureaus but they failed to give me any results or feedbacks about this concern. Finally, there is no name associated with this file & needs to be deleted due to inaccurate info. Please investigate and remove it from my personal credit file. Thank you. ( AMEX XXXX )

Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to cancel an American Express credit card for 18 months but keep getting charged additional fees and penalties since then. On XX/XX/20, I contacted American Express by phone and requested the account be closed. The Cardmember Agreement clearly says, " You may close your Account by calling us or writing to us. '' However, AmEx did not close the account but continues to charge fees, interest and penalties, currently totaling {$620.00}. They have referred the matter to a collection agency, XXXX, who is harassing me about payment. In multiple calls I have made to try to resolve this issue, agents claim incorrectly that closing accounts must be done in writing, contradicting the " Cardmember Agreement. ''

Consumer Complaint: I previously filed a dispute with XXXX regarding the American Express Account XXXX negatively reporting to my XXXX Credit File. In my dispute I included court documents submitted by American Express and ordered by the judge of a FULL RELEASE, SATISFACTION, AND TO VACATE JUDGMENT. On XX/XX/XXXX American Express filed suit against on credit card balances arising from two American Express card accounts ending in XXXX and XXXX. XXXX. American Express was awarded a Judgment against XXXX, on or about XX/XX/XXXX, in the principal amount of {$12000.00} and all costs of suit. 3. The full name and address of the individual whose interest in the Judgment is being fully released as set forth below are XXXX XXXX XXXX, whose last known address is XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, TX XXXX. XXXX. American Express declared the accounts null and void and fully released, exonerated, and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, as identified and described above, from the entire judgment awarded, including ( a ) the principal amount of {$12000.00} awarded by the judgment ; ( b ) all costs of suit ; and ( c ) the operation, force, and effect of the judgment. Not only was I fully released from all reported debt on my American Express cards, the amount being reported delinquent of {$12000.00} was a total of two cards but is being reported as a single account by XXXX. So not only is the amount reported incorrect and due to multiple accounts, not just one. The entire debt has been deemed null and void and by court order, I have been released of all responsibility for this debt. Even after receiving a copy of the court order releasing me from all liability of this debt, XXXX has failed to remove the negative account being reported for which I have no liability. In response to this dispute, American Express sent me a response saying it was no longer reporting these accounts to the CRA 's, and addressed their responses to someone with a very similar name in a different city, with different account numbers, stating they were fraudulent accounts. Apparently American Express failed to read the court orders, and correct account numbers, my address, or any of my actual identifying information. I've attached the court orders relieving me of all liability and full release of the debt, which American Express requested happen. I just ask you finally stop reporting this debt which by court order I am not responsible for. I've attached the court orders once again. Regards, XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I am writing to American Express to express my disappointment with a charge that occurred on XX/XX/2021 from XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$99.00}. This was for a subscription that I had cancelled prior. From XX/XX/2021 to XX/XX/2021, I was abroad in XXXX and did not have my cell phone on me, as I was using a XXXX phone number. I did have my laptop but did not receive any email correspondence from American Express. According to my phone records, American Express called on XX/XX/2021 and XX/XX/2021 to inquire about the above fraudulent charge. American Express also sent a text message on XX/XX/2021 regarding the above fraudulent charge. After I got back from XXXX, for some reason, American Express had allowed this charge to go through without my express approval and without discussing with me. Subsequently, I was charged a late fee on XX/XX/2021 and additional interest charges.
