Consumer Complaint: I have a checking account with Bluebird.com from American Express.Yesterday ( XX/XX/2022 ), I made a {$20.00} gas purchase at a XXXX convenience store near my house in XXXX XXXX. It didnt happen, so I called XXXX XXXX and they told me it could take up to XXXX hours to get the funds back, if not call them back. I called them back today sooner than XXXX hours because I have bills that are Now Overdue Today because I had planned to pay those bills yesterday after I bought the gas. On a XXXX way conference call a XXXX agent and I called my Bluebird customer service and they informed me that it will take 5 DAYS FOR AMERICAN EXPRESS TO RETURN THE $ XXXX THEY PUT ON HOLD!!, NOW I WILL LOSE MY GOOD STANDING WITH MY CREDITOR!!! THEY HAVE DAMAGED MY CREDIT STANDING!!!

Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of identity theft. Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we are all facing which has me sitting still at home and I saw the recent news about the multiple XXXX Data breaches. I decided to look at my credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. I did not receive any money, goods, or services as a result of identity theft. I contacted the Credit Bureau and told me to file an Identity Theft Report which I am doing. I appreciate your effort in getting this matter resolved. Thank you. Please let me know if you need any other information from me to block this information from my credit report. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: Sometime in XX/XX/2022, a new American Express credit card account was opened in my name without my knowledge or authorization. The opening appeared on all three of my credit reports. My wife and I both assumed it had to be by a fraudulent actor, but when we contacted American Express ( more than an hour on the phone talking to more than 5 individuals ), they finally admitted that the account was opened in my name because my wife requested I be added to her EXISTING account. No one informed my wife that a new account was going to be opened. She would have refused if they had. Neither my wife nor I authorized a new account in my name yet it appeared on MY credit reports. American Express acted like that's the way they do it and they see no problem opening a new account without authorization from the individual whose credit report will reflect the new account. They further implied that they would not even check to see if maybe my wife and I were divorced ( we are not ). They would be happy to let an ex-spouse create a new account in the other 's name and run up charges against that person and there is nothing the person can do about it. I did finally get American Express to close the account on XXXX XXXX, but now the opening and closing of a new {$20000.00} credit limit appears on my reports forever. Actually, I will have to pay money to get new reports to verify that the closing actually took place. I thought I had frozen/locked all three of my credit reports but that's another issue I have to look into. I suspect American Express employees are being pressured to open lots of new accounts without telling the account holders. Same thing XXXX XXXX was doing some years ago.

Consumer Complaint: Following my divorce in 2014 I had to rely more on my credit card purchases. Over the past five years I've accumulated some sizable credit card debt. Prior to my divorce I never carried a balance on any of the XXXX credit cards that I possess so managing credit card debt was a new challenge for me. With that said, I am very concerned about the amount of fees/interest that American Express has been applying to my balances. I would voluntarily allow any federal regulator to review my entire file with American Express. I'm confident that there is an enormous amount of egregious violations with my credit card statements with American Express.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX my son paid upfront for a window ( XXXX dollars ) and a service ( XXXX dollars ) with my credit card. XXXX. I asked him to refund to money and cancel the window order and he did under 24 hours. The credit card company, American Express, added a second charge without me knowing and resolved the case with the merchant without me knowing. Only to find out months later that we were never getting a window. The merchant is unwilling to help and American Express will not agree that the fact is not window was ordered and the order was cancelled. i.e. XXXX dollars returned. I have refuted the claim numerous times and as a result cancelled my American express membership since XXXX, its appalling.

Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from American Express in XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX that there was an account/activity using my information at their company, but no further details and the letter said to contact them. A few weeks later I received a bill for around {$9000.00}. I called AmEx and told them that someone had tried to open several credit cards in my name and had written bad checks from one of my account, starting the beginning of 2022. AmEx said they would cancel the account and dispute the charges. I received another letter in XXXX from AmEx, stating that the account was found to have been opened by me and my request to close it was denied. I called AmEx again in XXXX disputing the account once again and a few weeks later received another simple form letter stating the account had been judged to have been opened by me and my request to close it was again denied, no further information provided.

Consumer Complaint: I reported to AMEX Blue Bird that there were charges on my prepaid account that I did not recognize. I filled out and even submitted a AMEX Bluebird Declaration of Fraud Form detailing out exactly which charges were not authorized. They reviewed my claim and denied it. Their own website says that they offer fraud protection : https : //www.bluebird.com/faqs/stay-in-the-know/fraud-protection When I made a valid claim in the amount of {$550.00} they gave me the run around saying that it may take another 45 days for them to review my appeal. I'm at my wits end and need your help to resolve.
