Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, I used my social security account ( SSN ) to receive an extension of credit for a credit card with American Express and was sent an adverse action. Pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1605 a credit card is defined as any card, plate, coupon, book, or other credit device existing to obtain money, property, services, or credit for family or household purposes. I am at the age of majority and have realized competency in the order of my affairs and see this act as discrimination against me and my good faith in my usage of my credit. This has harmed myself and my family from being able to benefit from the use of my account and in the full faith and credit that is promised to my by the United States Codes as a natural living being and original creditor. I believe American Express has violated 15 U.S.C. 1691 in this discrimination and I demand that my credits be made available to me for personal and family usage. No company or partner company was every given permission to furnish any negative information on my account or accounts to American Express to be able to make any type of discriminatory determinations.

Consumer Complaint: My husband and I were in XXXX XXXX, XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and we used our American Express card at a gas station to fill the tank about 6 to 8 gallons ( For reference we were driving a XXXX XXXX that gets around 30 MPG and is a XXXX tank ). Also, I am not a fluent XXXX speaker but can understand the majority of what someone is saying. The attendant pumped the gas ( we werent allowed to pump it ourselves ) and when he was done he came up to the car window with a handheld card reader. I provided him first with our debit card but he stated it did not work. I provided him with our American Express card, and he ran it on the handheld device and stated that it was all good. He did not give us a receipt stating that the receipt portion of the machine wasnt working. We did not sign any receipt. When we got home a few days late, we were reviewing our charges and saw that we were charged USD {$2300.00}. Of course, we contacted Amex to dispute the charge. Amex stated they would do an investigation and get back to us. Amex stated that since the merchant was able to provide a signed receipt that they were not going to reverse the charges. We again contacted Amex and stated that the signature on the receipt was not ours, and although we were at that gas station we only got about 6 to 8 gallons of gas. We also told Amex that we never received any communication from them on the day of the charge regarding the large amount. Amex again stated they would investigate and again the answer was the same. They would not reverse the charges, they stated we could not provide any evidence that disputed the receipt from the merchant. We decided to contact the XXXX and the response from Amex was again that there was nothing they could do. We had given the merchant our card and they do not authenticate signatures. We are astonished by the response from Amex. The main reason we have used Amex outside the country ( we live in the US ) is because of their reputation for always having the back of their customers. We are so disappointed, frustrated, and disgusted. We would appreciate any help in resolving this matter in a manner that is fair.

Consumer Complaint: Although I filed a charge dispute and provided American Express with compelling hard evidence that Ive never received the merchandise I ordered, American Express has never issued me a final credit, instead we are engaged in a vicious cycle of temporary credits and charge backs that almost feels like harassment.

Consumer Complaint: Fraud was committed on my American Express. My original purchase was declined by American Express, so I used another credit card. After my other credit card went through, American Express went back and charged my card. I submitted documented proof of this. I also had a credit balance on my American Express account of {$3000.00}. American Express did credit my account for the fraud, but then that would change and go back and fourth. No matter what I do, American Express will not send me my money. I requested a wire transfer that takes XXXX business day... I did not want a check. Thus far, American Express has lied to me : We sent you an email... no they didn't... We sent you a check, no they didn't. I sent wire instructions XXXX times. I got the wire transfer instructions directly from my XXXX account. American Express contends they have the wrong instructions, or they've sent a check or they've done something, but they've done nothing. This has been going on for several months. I've spent hours on the phone with the fraud department and hours in the chat room. No matter what I do, they won't give me my money. I tried calling CFPB, but I don't have a cell phone... The phone I use does not work.

Consumer Complaint: A scammer managed to hack my info and keep ordering credit card replacement to his address, also hacked my phone and ordered worth of thousands phone and accessories. I tried to stop it communicating with the credit card company and he/she couldnt stop manipulating the cc companies and ordering new card every time. I managed to get the address where he/she wanted the card to be delivered. Now I have put a hold on all my credit cards but it creates so much inconvenience and became so frustrating and a full time job calling cc companies every time I get a text message of a new card request. They need to be stopped

When I found out I contacted the hotel who said to report it to my card company which I did.. the merchant does not dispute a chargeback yet amex serve has yet to refund my money. They say 45 days but I get a different answer each time I call. They told me so many different answers I don't believe a word they say. They already did a charback over a week ago but won't credit my account because '' we are still investigating '' I don't think it's legal to hold my money this long especially after they already got it back from the merchant over a week ago

Consumer Complaint: I Received an email on XX/XX/22 from XXXX that i thought and I call the XXXX so they said that order for something of {$710.00} watch have not all and when I call the number they told me that owe me the money and they said that put in the my account. turn out they told to go and get some card of {$500.00} each of three and to keep the phone on while going in the store for buying the cards and after when i was out of the store to send photos both front and back of the card. Then told not check my bank account for 12 hours if I did my bank will lock me out of me. I also lost them on the Phone and an AL phone number it will be on the pages I will send you ok. When call back that see what happen ask them to return the money and to pay the overdraft fee of next {$700.00} and then told to get another two gift cards total of {$500.00} told me not go online 24 hours and i went call online banking 24 hours banking. When see what happen I change the pin number and it didn't help found an way to get the money in the long run after all I went to the cops to reporting it. I'm send the information ok.

Consumer Complaint: I was searching for a house to rent and I found one on XXXX market that was in my price range, XXXX the person on XXXX and gave them my phone number and said they would contact me back. They contact me through my phone and gave me information for the house I told him I was interested I wanted to put an application and pay the {$220.00} of application fees on XX/XX/XXXX. On the same date I was told we were approved for the house I needed to send a deposit to secure the house. I sent {$1200.00} through XXXX. they said they would send the keys through the mail and they were never received after two weeks of trying to get the keys in setting up meetings that they never showed up for at the property they let me know they never received the deposit. They instructed me to call my bank and check what was going on with the transaction. I called my bank and my bank let me know that the transaction was done on my side but they had not received the money into their account and I open they were dispute. After this was in informed to me Ill let them know that I would be willing to pay cash for the deposit. They instructed me to buy a {$600.00} gift card and give the rest in cash. I bought the gift cards and send receipts. On the day we were supposed to meet to receive the keys he wanted me to open the package and send in pictures of the numbers of the card which I refused. They got upset saying they would no longer meet us because I did not want to follow their instructions. Which I said I was five minutes away to just come get the cards from me and I would give them to them in their hands. They said they were going to meet us and never showed up even though it was an hour away from our home. I called today to check the balance on the card and they said they were used on XXXX and XXXX. They had a balance of XXXX XXXX on them. On the receipts there were numbers for the cards but I never sent the numbers on the card.

Consumer Complaint: I have a business credit card I have for my business XXXX XXXX XXXX. My business is in control of the account and responsible and its al under the business credit and tax ID. American Express in house XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX @ XXXX. They contacted an old employee that had a company card as a user and not administrator authority and was very abusive to XXXX XXXX who no longer is even a credit card user for the company. They were very rude to XXXX and released private info to her about balance owed and even tried getting her to pay the balance due! They gave a 3rd party private info about XXXX XXXX XXXX financials and issues and tried collecting money from somebody whom is not a responsible party or involved with the company in that way. This is a very serious matter and needs to be dealt with as I now have a 3rd party person aware of my companies personal financial situation! They need to be held responsible for this release of private info. They record there calls so this all can be proved with review of this call.
