Consumer Complaint: I got a call from XXXX and XXXX I believe in XXXX from a very rude guy name XXXX regarding some alleged debt with a credit card from American Express. He wasnt able to prove to me that I owe this debt by proving an original contract or anything showing this debt was mine. He proceeds to tell me that he sent a wage garnishment to my employer which was an old employer and all this was sent without my knowledge. I wasnt concerned being that I didnt work with the company he said he sent he garnishment too and I didnt owe this debt. XXXX then says thats fine and he continues to push and tell me that I needed to pay {$350.00} on this debt or my wages would be garnished with my new employer. I state to him I dont owe anything why would I pay. He goes on and on saying what will happen so me I give in without knowing my rights and made this payment of {$350.00} to avoid my wages being garnished while I dispute the account with American Express being that this isnt my debt. Even though I made that payment in XXXX, XXXX and XXXX still sent a wage garnishment to my new employer and my wages are being garnished. I feel that this was very wrong of them and they have gotten over on me and no telling how many other people they are lying too in order to collect money. They need to be stopped.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX XXXX I tried to use my AMEX card that I had for apprx 35 years online at XXXX XXXX, a place where I have shopped with that same card for over 20 years. The oder would not go through for days I tried. I finally drove to the store and had them place the order since it was an online only product. no problem placing order. I got home checked my email and learned that the same thing happened at XXXX XXXX XXXX for an online order. I called XXXX and was told after an hour and XXXX minutes that I needed to call AMEX and get a code from them prior to placing an online order. I was never notified of this and it wasted hours of my time simply trying to place an order. My acct was not overdue and had been paid ontime since the XXXX 's. It was my only credit card! I called amex and asked them why this was, of course there was a language barrier and the call took forever, by now I am XXXX hours into a wasted day, with no explanation, just " thats the policy '' for which I was NEVER notified. I asked to have that removed as my purchase history clearly indicates that I am a frequent home improvement store shopper ( at both of the aforementioned ) he said no its the policy, so I have to call and get an approval from AMEX every time I want to use my card for an online purchase! Thats insane, I pay my bills, they are not my Dad! Customers online complain about the same issue. I got aggravated, as anyone would, told him to remove the block and hung up that was the end of it. On XX/XX/XXXX, the due date, I paid my bill on time in full as usual XXXX and change, which included the upcoming year cardholder fee of XXXX and I had XXXX points EARNED from my timely payments and spending. A few days later I went to use my card and was declined. I called them and they said my card was cancelled. NO NOTIFICATION until a letter dated XXXX was received about a week later. It stated that my XXXX pmt was recieved and that my card was cancelled because I was " abusive " to the agent. Another term used widely in online AMEX complaints! On XXXX % th I recieved an email from XXXX and XXXX. stating that my " acct remains substantially overdue ''. I never got a final bill, the letter never demanded payment in full, I had no idea why this email was sent. I responded that I just paid in full on XXXX, how is my acct substantially past due? Never heard from them again. On XX/XX/2023 I was served with a lawsuit from XXXX. they waited over a month until they got my XXXX fee and kept my XXXX in points, never sent an itemized statement for which I had credits coming in, then sued me, they ruined my credit being my only card and have caused me extreme inconvenience, all appearing retalitory, since when is subjective rude behavior a reason to ruin someone? They are out of control and the massive amount of complaints online are obvious that a culture is going on. They must be stopped, they never demamded anything in the cancellation letter of sent a statement other than XXXX with ONLY a balance no listed transactions. I want my credit report repaired, my points taken off the balance, a detailed final staement and my XXXX fee returned since I was cancelled before I ever used it

Consumer Complaint: I spoke to a supervisor at American Express from the XXXX Texas oce who on XX/XX/2023 conrmed that American Express back oce knew they were in violation of their terms and conditions which state Foreign Transaction None which I can send a copy if requested, but they intend to continue to charge these fees to all their customers regardless of their terms and conditions. I also have copies of three different correspondences from American Express which I can also provide that clearly states that they do charge a fee of XXXX on any foreign transaction. One letter states The converter results do not include the American Express conversion fee. the second and third letters state Please note that American Express uses a conversion rate that is effective within 24 hours of the time the charge is processed plus XXXX percent of the converted amount. They are overcharging all their customers as a group in the millions of dollars which is an estimate but realistic and will continue doing so unless a stand is taken by your agency and are able to force American Express to repay all their customers all the overcharges, for all long as they have followed these illegal practices. You have my phone number, please have someone call me in the managerial status to discuss further and provide me a portal to send the evidence.

Consumer Complaint: Applied for an American Express business credit card on XX/XX/XXXX. Was solicited several months during XXXX and early XXXX by American Express for a pre-approved offer by the company for my business, XXXX XXXX XXXX. I applied for the American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I attempted to accept this offer by applying and was denied. I do not have a fraud alert on my credit report, both my business and personal credit scores are excellent, my XXXX is currently at above XXXX across the board. This doesn't make any sense. Of all reasons to be denied for a credit card, my credit score would never be a reason or factor for denial.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to express my grave concerns and to file a formal complaint against American Express, their legal representation, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and notably, XXXX XXXX XXXX, regarding an account under my name. Overview of the Issue : Initially, I faced a debt with American Express of {$6600.00}. With a genuine desire to resolve the matter, I settled the debt for {$3600.00}, agreeing to a payment plan of $ XXXX monthly. Everything proceeded smoothly until XXXX, when I had to close my bank account due to fraud. I immediately reached out to XXXX XXXX XXXX, hoping to adjust my payment method to my new bank account. However, they insisted on only speaking to my attorney. The journey with my legal representation has been tumultuous : In XXXX, I sought assistance from the XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) for debt settlement. By XX/XX/XXXX, my case transitioned to XXXX XXXX. Eventually, my case was handed over to XXXX XXXX XXXX. They have been particularly non-communicative and appear to be in violation of ABA rules 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 ( b ), and 1.9 by not replying to me or other litigants. XXXX XXXX XXXX 's lack of communication left me in a precarious situation when XXXX XXXX XXXX took the drastic measure of filing for an interrogatory with the court, aiming to garnish the full amount. Remember XXXX stated I could not pay them directly because I had to have my attorney involved and yet they felt it appropriate to communicate with me directly regarding an interrogatory. They seem to want to have their cake and eat it too. Current Situation and Plea for Intervention : The absence of communication from XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX ' refusal to liaise directly with me has left me cornered, even though I have shown nothing but willingness to resolve the matter.

Consumer Complaint: My husband has an AMEX platinum card and when we got married, we applied so I could have the credit card under his account. During this time, american express kept emailing me saying that I was missing information to activate the card despite the fact that I was logging in and adding all of the necessary information. They had sent out a card and I had it in my possession. In that time my husband had paid off his remaining balance so we could start fresh and keep track of our charges together. I noticed when I signed onto my app that there was still a remaining balance. I come to learn that I had my own separate account that was opened all the way back in XXXX. I had never had a card up until XXXX and the charges that were present on the account was the annual fee XXXX years that I had never paid because I didn't even know the account existed. I have an excellent credit score and for the credit cards that I have THAT I KNOW I HAVE, I pay on time every single month in full. Why would I have a credit card open and not use any of the perks or spend the required amount to get the bonus points? It makes absolutely no sense and so I filed the card as fraudulent around XX/XX/XXXX. The case got denied and so I escalated the case and it was re-opened and denied yet again in XX/XX/XXXX. Now I have {$1500.00} of owed money that I refuse to pay and it is affecting my credit score. I really hope you can help me. The card is no longer active.

Consumer Complaint: Note : All documents and attempts to collect equity owed are lawful and accordance to the federal reserve act, bills of exchange act, laws passed by congress and the U.S. Constitution. I am a law abiding citizen of America and my rights are being violated. Which I will prove in Arbitration. On or about XXXX an application ( collateral security ) was given to XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX AMERICAN EXPRESS. Upon my research and investigation I have found out that my application ( collateral security ) was in fact exchanged for federal reserve notes at their local XXXX XXXX XXXX ( as I pay fees and interest out of pocket on top of what they took from my estate ) and I was not given full disclosure at the time of paperwork being signed. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, XXXX on behalf of XXXX XXXXPrincipal gave first notice XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that I accept all Titles , Rights, Interest and Equity owed to XXXX XXXX XXXX Along with my tender/Allonge of payment ( entitled 'LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS ' ) ; I also accepted and endorsed the negotiable instrument ( bill ) offered to me. Since then I have sent out 3 notices ( 3 tiers ) totaling 30 days. These notices are clear and concise of what I want them to do. I have performed and expressed myself according to the XXXX XXXX Act Section 29 ; and now I am here to properly have XXXX XXXX XXXX and/or XXXX XXXX assessed . They're in Breach of Contract for inferior performance of their fiduciary duties. At this point they're in the know of this breach and I would consider their actions to be scienter.
