Consumer Complaint: THIS IS NOT A DUPLICATE COMPLAINT! The first complaint was about processing ALL MONTHS o loan payments. The company DID process some months, but they literally left off the months that would have qualified me for full loan forgiveness. THIS IS NOT A DUPLICATE COMPLAINT! My name is XXXX XXXX. My Federal Loan Servicing account number is XXXX. I received notice that my account had finally been adjusted after 6 months of waiting. While there were certain pay dates added to my eligibility, the period from XXXX, XXXX through XXXX of XXXX was not added. This is the EXACT period that needs to be processed, and with which I would receive my full loan forgiveness. I have already certified employment ( and even have some month p [ roperly counted ) with the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. This employment, which also covers the period of XXXX, XXXX thru XX/XX/XXXX, would provide me with loan forgiveness once you update those months as being qualifying. Why was every month from XXXX, XXXX through XXXX of XXXX added, but nothing starting when my XXXX employment actually took place? When will this update be completed? I have waited 6 months and then you make a pointless update that added only 1 month, instead of adding around 20 months. Please correct this and process my loan forgiveness. XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I am concerned with predatory practices which took place over 20 years ago. I was a federal student loan recipient and when I graduated from medical school I was told to consolidate. I chose AES to do the consolidation. As a 20 something who was facing 100K+ student loan debt I agreed to go with the company. I did not realize that I would never be afforded the same rights and protections as a federal loan recipient. I have been dutifully been paying for 20 years and had to refinance part with another lender last year for better interest rates. They would never speak with me about lowering interest rates, and split my payments so the majority went to interest. After 20 years I still owe approximately XXXX. On several occasions through the years my payments were misapplied ( due to my online bill pay being used and not their website ), and when I called they were " fixed ''. I also had to go only to their website to pay or they would split payments. When I requested a full transcript last year during refinance none of these errors were noted. I feel like they have adjusted the transcript to not accurately reflect my account. The one loan I could not refinance is because they say it was not an education loan. They would not admit that it was for a XXXX XXXX Assistance XXXX ( XXXX ) as it was used to pay off a XXXX loan. So its a new loan and I had to keep it with them! I don't know what to do besides to keep on paying however when I read about your department today i thought I would report it. I figure I am stuck and I understand that but I believe AES/PHEAA were dishonest with me years ago to my detriment and the detriment of my family.

Consumer Complaint: I have been wanting to make targeted payments toward my student loans, and my goal is to target payments toward loans with higher interest. However, that information is not available because there is not currently interest accumulating due to the COVID forbearance. I contacted FedLoan to obtain this information. The customer service provider could only provide this information verbally. She did indicate that a breakdown could be generated and uploaded to my portal. This has not happened, and instead, I was provided letters of update regarding PSLF, which doesnt apply to me. Further, one can not obtain a historical breakdown of payments or accumulated interest over time. Being that I was provided interest information verbally, I felt I had adequate information to make a payment. On XX/XX/XXXX I made a payment through the Fedloan online portal. I targeted two different loans and paid the entire loan amount listed. I paid one loan in the amount of XXXX and another for XXXX. My payment breakdown states : XXXX went to principle and XXXX toward interest on loan 1 ; and XXXX toward principle and XXXX toward interest on loan 2. Currently, FedLoan is stating these two loans are not actually paid in full, as there is outstanding interest that is not factored into targeted payments. Considering there has not been any interest accumulation in two years, this is intentionally misleading. I also have a loan verification letter from XXXX of XXXX with the same amounts listed, that apparently, do not include interest. This letter was utilized so I could obtain a mortgage. Further, there is no messaging when making payments to FedLoan stating that information listed is not inclusive of interest. This process, the website, and the ability to understand amounts due is intentionally misleading and difficult. Attempting to pay back and manage student loan information continues to cause an amount of anxiety that is unnecessary. The amount of time, energy, and resources that I have put in to obtaining the correct information is beyond infuriating and is utterly nonsensical unless the goal is further burden those with debt. I have had 3 mortgages in my adult life, and several car loans. The information regarding repayment and interest is both clear and available. I can obtain a breakdown through the duration of the loan amount, interest amount, and how my payments are applied. How come student loans CONTINUE to be intentionally misleading and difficult??

Consumer Complaint: I have several private student loans with this company. I have already used all my deference and forbearance options due to financial and illness in the past. I am getting my life back on track and am in a better position to start making bigger payments. However, trying to work with this company is IMPOSSIBLE! I have tried every way under the sun, even a BIG deposit offer and they WOULDN '' T tell me how much my payment would be afterward!! The rep would not even say, let me check with my supervisor and someone will get back with you. TERRIBLE customer service. In XX/XX/XXXX, they let me make 1 final payment towards my forbearance. On XX/XX/XXXX, they received another XXXX request and it has been in processing since then, this is XX/XX/XXXX. PAST NEXT PAYMENT DUE. I contacted them via CHAT on XX/XX/XXXX, 3 days before payment due date. Nothing could be done... .There is no way I can pay {$1700.00} per month! In XX/XX/XXXX, payments were {$1200.00} per month, thats when I received the last forbearance. WOW, jumping {$500.00} in 3 months!! I have been working with them off and on, via message or phone call since XX/XX/XXXX to try and get my payments down to a manageable monthly payment. Phone Calls were made to them on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, plus the many chats, and messages. I have tried refinancing and there is no company that will refinance this loan.

Consumer Complaint: My account had been in paid ahead status for many years and I just realized what this was earlier this year. After researching and learning that any extra amount for each payment I made was not being placed toward the principal and instead was being held for a future payment so more daily interest was accruing on a higher principal, I requested this to be changed. I told aes that I wanted all payments where I paid extra to be applied to the principal, not future payments. AES said I needed to request paid ahead status be removed from the account. I requested this on XX/XX/22. My account has changed back to applying my extra payment amounts to future payments rather than current principal on XXXX occasions since I made this request. They havent applied those payments which I have already made to the principal as requested. I have had this loan since I was XXXX XXXX XXXX. I took it out my first year of college after high school and was always taught that if you pay extra on your loan, even XXXX XXXX a month, it pays down your principal and you pay it off faster. I was very surprised to learn about how these payments are applied. It seems unethical that these loan companies are able to do this and wrong that they keep changing my account back and doing this repeatedly after I ask them to stop.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I completed a application for XXXX XXXX to Fed Loan Servicing. I was able to input all of the required information ; but when I pushed the submit button it would give an error message saying that " we're unable to take your borrower defense request right now. We're working to fix the issue. Please come back later to submit. We aploogize for the inconvenience ''. I have tried at least 50 times on different occasions ( XX/XX/XXXX to present ) to submit the application on different devices ( phone, tablet, and computer ) and browsers ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) yet I still get the exact same error message when I push submit on either device. There is a extreme flaw on the studentaid.gov website that is not allowing applications to be submitted. It is affecting the integrity of the fed loan servicing/ student aid borrower defense application submission/ process. With over XXXX XXXX students that utilize student aid through fed loan servicing and its affiliates ; the flaw on the website is a tactic that is being used by fed loan servicing to prevent students from having a fair opportunity to apply for borrower defense and receive a resolution in a timely manner. Its a ploy to frustrate students and have them give up on gaining a resolution that they are advertised to have as an option regarding addressing issues and violations that students experience and advertised for students to have access to. I have called and no manager or staff at federal student aid has been able to fix the issue with the borrower defense application submit button on the federal student aid website. I also read online on reddit ; posts from students in other states that have the exact same issue when trying to submit an application for borrower defense.

Consumer Complaint: According to Fed loans, I do not qualify for forgiveness. They have said that I only have several payments towards the forgiveness and are not counting previous payments I have made though the years. My original loans were for approximately XXXX and I current owe XXXX! Although my salary may look high on paper, with inflation and the cost of my travel to work, including gas and tolls, I can not afford to pay the estimated XXXX. I am in debt and literally can not make ends meet and they have been raising the cost on everything and expect us to pay more!! I can not do it and it is not fair, I have been a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX teacher for XXXX years. We should be getting credit for that. Not to mention all the fraud I hear about from people who lie about being XXXX. I want to file a complain with the president but he is worried about things that have no importance. We are at the brink of war and student loan debt that will only get worse since so many can not pay it back when payments are reinstated. How do they expect us to live!!

Consumer Complaint: I am working towards PSLF. Several of my federal loans ( loans XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) have not received credit for eligible payments I made during XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. During these four months my loans were in active repayment ; my loans were NOT in forbearance/deferment ; my then monthly payment was {XXXX} based on my income ; my employment has been certified for those four months. Those four months ( XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX ) are counted as eligible payments for my following federal loans : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. It is accurate and correct that these four months should be listed as a PSLF eligible payment for all of my loans. It is incorrect for only loans XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX to receive eligible payment credit for these four months.
