Consumer Complaint: This is regarding my applciaiton for Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ). I have spoken with FedLoans and submitted Employment verification several times for my employment but they consistently do not update the information. In addition, they do not contact me saying there is a problem -- if any -- with my employment verification. I stay on the phone for hours, get a nice and helpful representative, resubmit my employment verification, they find something wrong w/ it, lose it, or ignore it, and then I am again left in limbo. It almost seems like they are stalling until the XXXX XXXX deadline? Perhaps that way they don't have to forgive any of my loans? I worked XXXX XXXX XXXX for 12 years and 7 years XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXI have been paying on these loans since 1989 with periods of forbearance ( I also was never told I could make a nominal payment that would count toward my PSLF ). When I started in 1989 I owed {$42000.00}. I now owe {$50000.00} THIRTY THREE YEARS later!! Please help, I am crushed by this lifelong debt that I can't seem to pay off even after over 30 years...

Consumer Complaint: PHEAA is the holder of some of my student loans. The loan is in default, and I contacted them to try and enter into a repayment plan. They informed me that they could not talk with me about a repayment plan because there was a hold due to a Defense to repayment claim. PHEAA informed me that I would have to have that claim removed through the department of education. When I contacted the department of education, they informed me that even if there was a defense of repayment case open, that would not stop PHEAA from working out a repayment plan. Department of Education had me contact the XXXX XXXX XXXX. The XXXX informed me that there was no open case with them. I contacted PHEAA with that information, and they said they could do nothing to set up a payment plan till the hold was released ( there is no hold ). All I want to do is set up a repayment plan to get my student loan out of default, and PHEAA will not allow that to happen.

Consumer Complaint: In past years Fedloan and previous student loan service providers steered me towards Forbearance and Deferments. Yes, I was struggling and often unemployed or under-employed. However, I simply needed to get a monthly payment that I could handle. I was never told that interest would not stop and that these periods of time would count against me. Now, these past Forbearance and Deferment periods are equivalent to financial death sentences for me and my struggling family. As a XXXX and an older ( senior ) head of household impaired by XXXX and other health challenges, I simply am at my rope 's end. Please help me help my kids. Please. Please assist me in accordance to the U.S. Department of Education 's policy intent, to count these Forbearance and Deferment periods as qualifying payments towards my Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ) & Temporary Expanded PSLF ( TEPSLF ) Certification & Application.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, For over 2 years, I have attempted to work with FedLoan Servicing to apply for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. They calculated my qualifying payments and I received notice on XX/XX/XXXX that showed how many qualifying payments I had made towards the XXXX required payments. Based on the information, I reached out and requested that I receive a month-by-month breakdown, starting in XXXX, to understand which payments I've made qualified and for the ones that were denied as qualifying, why they were denied. I never received that breakdown. I applied for forgiveness again in XXXX. I received notification on XX/XX/XXXX that showed how many qualifying payments I had made towards the XXXXXXXX required payments. The new statements showed that there have been XXXX eligible payments made over the last 10+ years. Of those, XXXX payments have been determined as qualified. That leaves XXXX payments remaining before I reach the XXXX payments needed for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. I reached out and requested a breakdown of the XXXX payments that were eligible but determined not qualified, and have not received communication that I would receive that information. Based on last time though, I'm not confident I will ever receive that breakdown. Based on the information, my previous employment, and the number of payments I've made over the last several years, I'm confident I qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program and am not receiving the information I need from FedLoan Servicing to validate this. Any assistance you can provide would be most appreciated.

Consumer Complaint: I attended XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and due to a school closure, all of my loans were forgiven. I have one loan that has not been forgiven and I have not been able to get any information regarding that loan at all. I was told it was consolidated in 2015 but that is all the information that could be provided. I don't know if this loan really belongs to me, why it was not included in the other loans that were forgiven. I need more information and fedloan has not been able to provide any but that is the creditor on my credit report.
