Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I called in on XX/XX/2022 to AES and had the representative switch the payment scheduled date to XX/XX/2022. As of XXXX on XX/XX/2022, I'm still seeing that this scheduled payment has not been in process and allows me to Cancel it through the online account. This is proof that the agency delays processing from when a payment was actually scheduled to be processed. This is concerning and not consistent with how payments are supposed to be processed when scheduled. Subsequently, the online account still shows that the account is 45 days delinquent despite the date of XX/XX/2022 coming to an end and the payment still being scheduled to be debited on XX/XX/2022. This agency time and time again has allowed occurrences like this to happen where it tends to favor them as a result of their appalling nature of procrastinating or deliberately delaying processing.

Consumer Complaint: Fedloan stated that they processed my refund for my student loans, but I have yet to receive a refund after 3 months. I followed up with them many times. I also recently learned they switched my servicer to XXXX and I will have to start the process all over again, delaying the process and causing me to possibly pay interest on loans that were already paid off and requested to be refunded due to the new forgiveness program.

Consumer Complaint: Fedloan servicing sent my student loans to XXXX when they were supposed to send them to XXXX. They failed to even record the transfer, so it was listed as still being at XXXX XXXX. This caused my credit score to decrease unnecessarily, because now I will have 2 closed accounts instead of one. It has also caused an almost year long delay to my PSLF application being processed. This has been a huge financial burden to my family, and we are unable to make plans. I applied for PLSF in XXXX and have followed up for 10 months with few answers. I spent months calling XXXX and was finally told this summer that Fedloan did not transfer my account, because they failed to verify my current employer of 13 years ( though it was on the application ). Instead of verifying it, they transferred it in XXXX so XXXX would have to do it, but it still had not been processed at all and never showed on my account. After many, many calls, I spoke with XXXX who said that Fedloan had my loans recorded as still being with XXXX XXXX. In reality, Fedloan transfered my application to XXXX and my loans to XXXX. After XXXX years of paying, 15 years of working for nonprofits, and 11 months of trying to get my application through, nothing has happened. XXXX has not even received the request to transfer my loans. When they do transfer, my account with them will close, and it will lower my credit score for no reason. They should never have had my loans, so it makes me look like I had an account for a very short time. I go to a great deal of trouble to keep my credit score high and am in the process of trying to buy several properties. I can not afford to have my credit sabotaged by incompetence.

Consumer Complaint: I called FedLoan Servicing on XX/XX/22 to request a refund of payments I made on my student loans during the pandemic. I was told they no longer service my loans and to try calling XXXX. I tried calling XXXX and they had no information regarding my account. I then called StudentAid.gov and they told me my loan servicer is FedLoan. So I called FedLoan again on XX/XX/22 and again requested a refund. This time, they were able to process my refund and said it would take 4-8 weeks. I called again on XX/XX/22 and an automated message stated that my refund had been received. I called again on XX/XX/22 and the automated message stated that my account had been transferred to XXXX. I called XXXX and they said they had no records of me or my account. I then called FedLoan to ask if they had processed my refund and/or moved my account to XXXX and XXXX said my refund is still processing. I told them it had been 8 weeks and asked if there was an issue and they said no it is processing and they are just extremely busy with refund requests. Today is XX/XX/22 and I still have not received any refund or account updates from either FedLoan or XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I had an account with FedLoan and paid off my loan during covid. With the CARES act were supposed to be able to request a refund of payments made after XX/XX/XXXX and before XX/XX/XXXX. I called FedLoan XX/XX/XXXX and requested a refund. They said they could process it and it would take 4 weeks to 6 months. Instead they just transferred my Lon to XXXX. They were not transparent on what was going to happen with my account. I got different answers from each rep I called when I called to confirm twice in XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX is my XXXX XXXX XXXX and I am the cosigner, XXXX XXXX XXXX AES XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, PA XXXX XXXX The loan has been paid on time for the requirement of a cosigner release which was XXXX consecutive on-time payments, AES/XXXX change rules as they go. I requested the release only to be told NOW that the borrower does not meet the credit score required for the release. He owns his own home, cars, and other financial obligations all in good standing. In the original documents, there is no Clause stating such a requirement. The payments are auto-drafted from my son 's account and Have never been unpaid. This is unfair and damaging to my credit report and I feel this is discrimination against my credit.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 before my loan was taken over by XXXX, I made a payment of {$24000.00} to Fedloan Servicing. This payment cleared my XXXX checking account on XX/XX/2022 and was not applied to my loan prior to my account being sent to XXXX. I have spoken to Fedloan Servicing on numerous occasions, including their service recovery team ( XXXX ID # XXXX and XXXX ID # XXXX ) and was told numerous times it would take 30 days from XX/XX/XXXX for the payment to clear and be sent to XXXX. My last conversation with XXXX on XX/XX/2022, 60 days since my payment, I was told the payment had cleared already and XXXX should have applied it. XXXX has not received this payment and Fedloan is going out of business come XX/XX/2022 with my nearly $ XXXX magically still missing. This is a lot of money to be in limbo/missing, especially for an XXXX XXXX Military Family and I request you immediately contact Fedloan and XXXX to have my $ XXXX payment refunded to me or added to my XXXX account. I have proof of payment from my checking account ( see XX/XX/XXXX ), the final billing statement from Fedloan on XX/XX/2022, and the most current billing statement from XXXX for XXXX. These documents show what the balance was prior to my payment on XX/XX/XXXX, when my payment was posted on XX/XX/XXXX and the current balance is with XXXX. Please reach out to me via email or phone below to send you any documentation or for additional information. Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated as Fedloan has been very shady during this entire time, XXXX is absolutely no help and doesn't return my calls or messages, and the last thing I want to do is involve a lawyer and my congressional members. Thank you. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: This astoundingly inept and unethical company which I never consented to working with has been the bane of my existence since they bought my loans. My credit is a dumpster fire because they reported me behind twice, 3 times each ( 1 mark for each loan ) for a total of 6 negative marks on my credit for delinquency. I am not disputing this as illegal, but its garbage customer service and a shining example of why student loans in the XXXX are such a problem. But thats not why Im complaining today. After the second go round with them destroying my credit, I signed up for auto pay. Then today I get an email saying I am 11 days behind. Nevermind the fact that I got misleading info on the recording when I called ( XXXX violation which could lead a customer to believe they had an extra day to pay before negative credit reporting ) which said I was 10 days behind, the rude customer service agent said I never applied for auto pay. Then when I asked for a payoff quote he just told me the amount, I had to ask for him to send it in writing. I am 100 % sure I signed up for auto pay to avoid this credit reporting fiasco, if their system didnt record it then yet again another XXXX. Of course I didnt pay, I assumed the auto debit was set. I am so angry and frustrated. This company and the XXXX poor customer service I receive every single time I call is absurd. The CFPB needs to get into their shop and start writing consent orders yesterday.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, Im having issues with FedLoan and XXXX. My loans are paid in full and I made payments from XX/XX/XXXX- XX/XX/XXXX, Im eligible for a refund under CARES Act. I requested a refund on XX/XX/XXXX with FedLoan. I followed up in XXXX and same story, its processing and can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. Sometime in XXXX I found out my loans were transferred to XXXX. FedLoan resubmitted refund request. Its now XXXX and XXXX has yet to receive my account info from FedLoan. This is very frustrating. Loan providers go to the extreme when requesting payment, but when it comes to a refund, they find every excuse on why its taking so long. Please handle.
