Consumer Complaint: Fed Loan Servicing Company has transferred my Federal Student Loans over to XXXX. Once I consolidated my student Loans, I was told by fed Loan that the loans that they were reporting on my credit report would be deleted and that the Consolidated loan would appear as one large loan. The Individual Loans are still reflecting on all three of my Credit Reports, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I had federal student loans serviced by Fedloan. XX/XX/XXXX : I paid them off in full during the pandemic pause. XX/XX/XXXX : When I heard that those who made payments/ paid off their loans during the pandemic were eligible for a refund on those payments, I called Fedloan to request mine. I was told by the rep that my request was submitted. XX/XX/XXXX : I called Fedloan to follow up with my refund. Was told that my refund was never processed and then had it re-submitted over the phone. A couple weeks later when I called to follow-up. After entering in my information there was an auto-recording saying that my loan payment refund request was submitted on XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX : Again, called Fedloan to follow up. This time, the audio recording said that Fedloan no longer serviced my account and that I had been transferred over to XXXX. I tried to create an online account with XXXX - but after creating a login and entering my info- I received an error saying that there was no loan information for me. I called XXXX and was told that Fedloan transfers won't be appearing until XXXX. Since then I've called multiple times and tried accessing my account multiple times to no avail. I want to know where my refund is and when I'll get it.

Consumer Complaint: I called MyFedLoan XX/XX/XXXX to ask for a refund for payments made during COVID forbearance. I was told that because my loans were transferred to XXXX, the refund would have to come through them. I had 15 total student loans- 13 of the loans were paid off through MyFedLoan prior to the conversion to XXXX XXXX I requested a refund from XXXX the same day - XXXX XXXX. I called several times to check on the status and was told by XXXX it was processing. XXXX XXXX I was finally told by XXXX the refund couldnt be processed because the payments were made and loans were paid off while belonging to MyFedLoan, and I would need to request through them. I called MyFedLoan to again insist for a refund. After speaking with 3 people, I got my refund request in, but was told the next day XX/XX/XXXX this would be canceled. They say that they are closing at the end of XXXX and will not have time to process my refund request. That I will have to wait until XXXX gets all the payment history transferred to them and then request the refund again in XXXX or later. This is a large sum of money that is being held when I am legally within my rights to request it be refunded.

On XX/XX/2022 the attached payoff letter was attached to my file. I have submitted this document to XXXX and XXXX and they have failed to report my balance owed as {$0.00}. The statement from XXXX and XXXX show {$0.00} payment due but have an outstanding balance of $ XXXX. I have contacted Fedloan they show my account is closed with them and balance {$0.00}.

Consumer Complaint: Request was made on XX/XX/XXXX with FedLoans to refund all student loans paid during COVID-19 forbearance period ( XXXX XXXXpresent ). Call reference # XXXX. I was advised on a call XXXX months later that I would not be able to get my student loans refunded because I paid select loan sequences in full, which I later learned was a false statement. In XX/XX/XXXX I learn that my loans are being transferred to XXXX and received an email on XX/XX/XXXX that the transfer process had began. On XX/XX/XXXX, I saw that my account had now reflected my current balance and contacted XXXX to initiate the refund process. I was told it would take 60 days. I called several times over the course of 60 days for updates, and never received any update. After 60 days, I called XXXX and was advised that the wait would now be 90 days following the influx of forgiveness applications from late XXXX following the President 's executive order. Called after 90 days from original request ( late XX/XX/XXXX ) and told loans were still in process. Was just advised today by a supervisor after being on hold for XXXX hours and forty-five minutes that XXXX could not initiate the refund request because the loans were paid off through Fedloans, not XXXX. This was the first time I received this information despite calling well over XXXX times since original request was made on XX/XX/XXXX. I was directed to call Fedloans. I contacted Fedloans XXXX times today, XX/XX/XXXX, and each time I call, I receive an automated response that my loans were transferred to XXXX, and I can press XXXX for further guidance. All three times the call was dropped. I need to receive the refund from the Department of Education as soon as possible. Document attached highlighting all payments made entitled to be refunded.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I called FedLoan and processed a request for a refund ( eligible under the CARES Act ) for XXXX federal student loans paid off in full : - {$1000.00} paid off on XX/XX/XXXX - {$1000.00} paid off on XX/XX/XXXX A FedLoan representative informed me that the refund could take an estimated 2-5 months, and said that the money would be sent to me by checks in the XXXX Mail XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX, I called FedLoan to request to cancel the refund that I had processed on XX/XX/XXXX, out of fear that the checks being sent to me in the mail would be stolen ( I live in a city that is currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of check theft in the mail ), and with the additional knowledge that the payments I made would now be automatically refund by XXXX XXXX student loan forgiveness program. The FedLoan representative I spoke with informed me that they could do nothing for me, as they had transferred my account to a new servicer, XXXX, and directed me to call XXXX in order to process my request for a cancellation of the refund. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called XXXX and requested a cancellation of the refund of the {$2000.00} in student loans that I had earlier filed with FedLoan Servicing. The XXXX representative I spoke with informed me that they could not process my request for a cancellation of the refund because they had not yet received a record from FedLoan Servicing of my payments made. The representative said that they ought to receive my records from FedLoan Servicing in 2-3 weeks and recommended that I call back in XXXX weeks to check. They assured me that we could process the cancellation of the refund at that time. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called XXXX and requested a cancellation of my refund. The representative said XXXX still hasn't received any information about my old loans from Fedloan, and said it may be a month or more before they receive it. As of XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX still has not received any information from FedLoan servicing about my history of payments.

Consumer Complaint: Called Fedloan on XX/XX/2022 to ask for forgiveness for loan payments made during the COVID-19 pandemic. The customer service representative said she had submitted my application and that the payments would be refunded in the next 2 weeks to 2 months. Called back today, XX/XX/2022, to be told that I had to contact a different company, XXXX, and that Fedloan had done nothing for my case. The original customer service person lied to me and left me several months behind on this process.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I had a private student loan that was paid and full, the debt was bought by another company and they are stating I owe interest. But the amount was paid in full. Now it has been sold again to XXXX and it is a balance on the account that I do not owe. I tried to reach out to the original loan holder and they no longer exist. and when I reached out to XXXX they said when I mailed in the pay off amount in the time the check got to the original owner of the loan I incurred interest. which is not possible. They gave me an amount and a pay off date, not the new debt holder but the original owner of my private student loan. this information is incorrect.
