Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I discovered that my credit card company had been adding {$200.00} to my statement, above what I had charged or any fees. It went back as far as I could check, XX/XX/XXXX. I called and spoke with USAA customer service and they did an audit while I was on the phone. They told me they found that in XX/XX/XXXX I had received a {$200.00} credit on a purchase. The credit was made but then they continued to add the {$200.00} to each statement thereafter. I thought they were going to correct the problem once they found it but they didn't. They are still adding {$200.00} but it doesn't appear to be cumulative. However, they started charging interest when I subtracted {$200.00} from the last bill. I quit charging on this credit card and have established a new credit account with my local bank. I called to tell USAA credit card department I wanted to close my account with them. They then played a recording to me that 'if I close my account it will damage my credit score and I risk losing the money in the " Subscriber 's Savings Account '' which amounts to about {$4000.00}. I also have auto and renters insurance with USAA and plan to let them go ( not renew ) when they expire. They warned me about doing that also.

Consumer Complaint: Text received for authorized transactions on XX/XX/22. I responded " N ''. I called USAA. I saw the fraudulent activity pending. It was my XXXX account for my XXXX XXXX XXXX granddaughter. We did not set up a profile or authorize check cashing or money transfers. Again I said these are not hers and we do not know the recipients. USAA allowed it to process. Then proceeded to lock all my accounts and say there wasn't any fraudulent activity. USAA refuses to provide documentation on their findings. I had to pay XXXX to unfreeze my accounts. My entire banking life was with USAA. I do not accept their insinuations. My entire family is either federal or state employed. We are not criminals. There is no transparency and a huge lack of professionalism. This is a bank for Veterans. I would like my money and my children 's money returned. I just wonder how many veterans and their families have fallen victim to USAA!

Consumer Complaint: So I Received a " Check '' from someone and they said to pay some money to an orphanage. so I did, a few days later, my bank account ( USAA ) was locked, and they told me after a 4 hour call hold, that I needed to pay {$2600.00} to unlock my account and that it was a scam. they refused to help cover it. Its been 3 months, and I'm in the worst financial spot possible. My advice is if you do get a check and then are told to donate to an orphanage or whatever, dont do it. just let the check invalidate without sending money. To USAA, shame on you for not assisting me at all with recovering my money.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I was contacted by an individual named XXXX XXXX who was posing as a recruiter at XXXX XXXX, a sportswear retail company, and he said he was impressed with my work on XXXX and wanted to conduct an interview with me for a job opening via XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was ready on XXXX which I tried to call the person, no response, I then tried a video call, the call was rejected, then I texted him which he responded that he will begin the interview which was entirely text-based. He brought up the overview of the company, culture & diversity, job brief, responsibilities, requirements and benefits, and he even asked questions that would be used in an job interview which I answered the best of my ability. After answering the interview questions, he said that he will bring the results to the team and follow up the next day which on XX/XX/XXXX, he said that I got the job and he sent me documents to sign, XXXX of the company and the job position to sign in accepting the job and the other being a W-4 for me to fill out which contained personal details such as my address, SSN and more. Then on XX/XX/XXXX, he emailed me XXXX checks of large sums, XXXX being {$9500.00} and the other being {$6300.00}, that he said I would need to deposit via XXXX XXXX and transfer to a " accredited vendor '' of the company to get the work materials. After depositing the the first check which was {$9500.00}, the individual wanted me to transfer the money through Cashapp or XXXX which neither worked so he had me do a domestic wire transfer of {$9500.00} of my checking account to the recipient " XXXX XXXX '' at the XXXX XXXX XXXX. It was also at this moment that I reached out to XXXX XXXX on XXXX to ask him about the situation. On XX/XX/XXXX, the real XXXX XXXX on XXXX reached out to me that I need to call the bank and report to federal agencies to stop the transfer. So I called the bank to do a wire transfer recall that was sent to XXXX XXXX XXXX and then filed a report to the local police authorities. I also filed a IC3 report to the FBI and the another report to the FTC. Unfortunately the wire transfer recall didn't make through, but they said they had an investigation into the fraud/scam.
