Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem making or receiving payments
Consumer Complaint: I received a text message that there was an attempt for a transaction. Message was as follows : " USAA Fraud DepXXXX : Did you attempt a transaction with XXXX on XX/XX/2022 for {$530.00} yes, reply 1, No, reply 2. Reply STOP to opt out. HELP:XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX '' I replied 2 and immediately received a call that was from my banks 800 number. The lady asked for me and I replied that I was the person she named. Then asked if I authorized a payment, I said no. She then proceeded to assist with stopping the payment, she told me that my card was not deactivated and said my new card would be sent to my address ( which she knew ). I asked what card and she replied with the last 4 of my card number. She then asked for my phone code and I gave her a number that I don't think is my phone code. She also asked for my USAA number which I stupidly gave her because I was in a panic. After realizing what I had done, I called my bank and reported, they flagged my account and assisted with my security preferences.

Consumer Complaint: The late payment information that the creditor is supplying to the CRA 's is causing stress & hardship due to the effects it's having on my credit report. Per Billing Error 15 U.S. Code 1666b, the creditor is illegally reporting the transaction on my consumer credit report & I demand to have the illegal late payment removed. In addition, under 15 U.S. Code 1681b, there has been no written consent or permission to report this inaccurate information to my credit report, which accounts for grounds of removal.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/22 I was notified a credit card issued by USAA was onmy credit report. After many phone calls with the reporting agencies, i was able to have that corrected. -The PROBLEM : The issue is that USAA has established a profile on me, from over 30 years ago, A profile in which " I '' have had NO accounts with USAA XXXX 30 years ago, they said I requested " info '', but that was the extent of the inquiry. " I '' have NOT opened ANY USAA accounts in my life. -PROBLEM Cont. : USAA is REFUSING to delete " MY '' profile. If this back is regulated, what gives USAA to maintain my profile, which USAA issued a CREDIT CARD to a Criminal, and NOW, they still want to maintain MY DATA on their servers? USAA were the one that FAILED in this issue, by ALLOWING a criminal, to open an account in my name, and then send it to an address I have not lived in 15 years, the sent AGAIN, to an abandoned hotel, in a state I DONT EVEN LIVE. USAA FAILED to protect MY data before, and they SHOULD NOT be allowed to maintain MY DATA against MY WISHES. That is MY DATA, MY INFORMATION, NOT USAA 's.

Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to dispute four charges to my checking account. They closed the disputes before I was able to get them information that they requested. After multiple attempts talking to bank representatives, I have not been able to get anyone to reopen the disputes. I can not submit the information they requested, and every time I try to send them a document, every person has come up with a different excuse as to why it isn't good enough.

They reissued a new card and stated they would investigate. Over 3 months later on XX/XX/XXXX I received a phone call from USAA claiming this was a XXXXCard present ' transaction and therefore could NOT be fraudulent. They dismissed the possibility of a cloned card and could offer no further information on the merchant which is over XXXX miles away from where my physical card transactions occur. I informed USAA Federal Savings Bank that I no longer had confidence in their banking services, that I wished to cancel my account, and that I would be filing a complaint with the CFPB.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Subissue: Non-sufficient funds and associated fees
Consumer Complaint: USAA has a overdraft protection program that is wreckless with people, mostly veterans and military who bank with them. For XXXX USAA has charged a total of {$380.00} dollars on overdraft fees. For XXXX USAA charged me a total of plus {$700.00} dollars. However, the way the interface of phone app and online website accounts are set up are different than what they see to process NSF fees. I could see I have money to cover those expenses. However, they see a different amount resulting in charging NSF. It is unfair to charge someone NSF when the individual is not able to see the true amount of money they have in the accounts to make informed purchases and informed transfers to cover a bill pending to post.

Consumer Complaint: On Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX my wife received multiple spoof texts and a call from what appeared to be USAA, our bank. Unfortunately, she shared, over the phone, some of her login information. Upon hanging up she realized something seemed off so she immediately called USAA. USAA 's fraud department confirmed this was fraud and helped her change her login information and change the address on our account back to our proper address. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, we noticed massive withdrawals from our checking account. We, once again, immediately called USAA only to find out nothing was changed in their system as promised and that a new card and credit card were sent to the fraudsters. We are still on the phone with them now but are getting the runaround. No one takes accountability over there. As a side note, when our son turned XXXX they shut access to his account off with no warning and it took nearly two months to resolve that. They are a disaster right now.
