Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Unable to open an account
Consumer Complaint: I play XXXX XXXX in a different country for 8 months out of the year and while I was away my account was getting charged by a stock savings app called " XXXX '' and it over drafted my account pretty badly by the time I realized it was to late the bank had closed my account and sent it to collections. Once I came back to the states I handled it and paid the account off immediately. Now US bank has sent my account mishap to XXXX XXXX and they say it is " account abuse '', but this is not the case what so ever if anything it would be an overdraft account that's all plus it is paid off in full. Being in XXXX XXXX is ruining my life now because I am trying to get my business going and I can not because no banks will allow me to open up a bank account with them, once they review XXXX XXXX and see the account abuse, they send me out of the door. Please help me!

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 I contacted U.S Bank because due to the COVID-19 pandemic I was going to need additional time in paying my car payment in the amount of {$620.00}. After waiting on hold for nearly two hours the representative instructed me that the payments would be placed into a forbearance period for 30 days and this would not cause a late being placed being on any of my ( 3 ) credit reports. On XX/XX/2020 I discovered that U.S Bank notified all 3 credit bureaus that i was late on my XXXX car payment. After seeing what U.S Bank did in error I immediately contacted U.S Bank and initiated a dispute. On XX/XX/2020 I contacted them again to discover the findings of the dispute I initiated and i was instructed by a customer service representative that my dispute was denied when i asked for a reason or explanation they instructed me that they do not provide a reason or explanation for their denials.

Consumer Complaint: Like many parents in the school district, I pre-paid for a trip that was canceled due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The credit card company is Elan Financial XXXX XXXX XXXX. ND XXXX. The merchant was XXXX XXXX XXXX. We contacted the merchant, and although they provided no service at all, they want to give us a 80 % refund of the money. contacted the credit card issuer ( Elan Financial. Part of US Bank ). and they sided with the merchant. Their lame excuse was that the merchant did not cancel the trip. The Governor of Ohio and the School Board did ( for the pandemic ). I am working on ending all my financial relations with Elan financial and taking the merchant to small claims court..

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: On Monday, XXXX XX/XX/2020, I applied for a US Bank Reserve Line of Credit. With the knowledge that my credit was reported with a XXXX balance, I hoped to get approved within a few days. However, the interactive voice system told me that I was denied credit, and a few days later, I got a letter explaining that the reason I was denied credit was because they were unable to verify my identity. I have spent a little over a year disputing with all three credit bureaus, as well as the previous creditors, to update my legal name on file.

Consumer Complaint: I disputed a charge ( letter faxed to the credit card company on XX/XX/20 ) from XXXX XXXX XXXX aka XXXX on my Fidelity Visa account ending with XXXX because I didn't receive the service I purchased ( round trip tickets, instead the return trip was cancelled ) and no adequate compensation was provided for cancellation and alternative flight arrangements. Cardmember Service failed to correctly process the dispute, incorrectly claiming that I received the services represented in the transaction. I faxed them my objection to their decision on XX/XX/20, requesting a partial reversal of the charge to compensate for the issue with the charge that I raised. Cardmember Services failed to respond to fulfill my request.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of 2018 I went into the US Bank branch located on XXXX in XXXX OR to remove my name from the joint accounts I was sharing with my ex boyfriend. They were happy to assist and all was good until about a year later when I receive a notice in the mail that I need to make a payment to the Line of Credit attached to that account. I called the Bank and after looking up my information, they confirmed that I had indeed removed my name from this account and to disregard the notice, as my ex was getting the same letter. A few months go by and I receive another letter from USBank stating my account is past due. This time I go into the same bank branch and speak with a manager who proceeds to tell me, they can see that I was removed from the account and not sure why the LOC account was not also closed at that time, which at that time had a XXXX balance. They confirmed to me that they would call my ex to inform him of this balance created after my name was taken off the account. Another couple months go by and I receive the same letter. This time I start making payments myself as I can't reach out to my ex and the bank has not helped me. This has created a significant dent in my credit score for debt that is not even mine.

Consumer Complaint: Due to many problems with application and closing through US Bank Mortgage, I decided to change mortgage companies within just a few months of purchasing the home. The closing with the new mortgage company was XX/XX/XXXX. I was told at closing that I would receive my escrow money back from US Bank Mortgage. I neglected to stop my automatic mortgage payment early enough, so the XXXX payment was taken from my checking account. On XX/XX/XXXX I called US Bank Mortgage, spoke with XXXX. She told me it takes about 20 days for the check to be sent to me. She said the funds taken from the additional mortgage payment would be reflected in the escrow. She offered to send me a breakdown of what the check would include. That was never received. On XX/XX/XXXX I went to my local branch to inquire as to the status of the check. I did not get the name of this person. She gave me an amount, which was different than the amount that XXXX gave me, and told me the check was sent XX/XX/XXXX. Today, XX/XX/XXXX I called and spoke with XXXX who told me the check was sent XX/XX/XXXX and the amount. When he told me the amount, it was less than I was told before. Upon questioning why, I was told the amount was for PMI. That amount was double what I should have paid and was sent after closing. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was then connected to XXXX who told me the check was sent on XX/XX/XXXX. I asked for the phone number of someone in Corporate and was told they were unable to do that. I attempted to find details on my internet account with US Bank, but the account is no longer available for me to see. I don't know how I can be sure of what the correct escrow amount should be, nor where the extra month mortgage payment went. I would like to file an official complaint.

Consumer Complaint: Due to covic 19 I applied for US banks modification program for 6 months. The program would expire in XX/XX/2020. I was also told doing this time no payments would have to be made and it would not affect my credit. Once I was 2 months into the program I received calls from debt collectors from US bank. US bank also reported me too all 3 credit bureaus saying that I am 5 months behind on my payments. And reported derogatory credit 120- 149 days late which drop my credit score over 62 points. I was denied a SBA loan and other loans do too there lack of professionalism and inaccurate information. I have called many times in regards to this. I only received the run around and was transferred from departments to another after spending 3 days on phone calls I was told to contact there escalation Department and write a letter. I am self employed and they have harmed me tremendously. my inability to keep my business going has affected me personally as well as financially.

Consumer Complaint: As a first time home buyer, I was looking for a house in XXXX. I ended up with XXXX XXXX and they routed me to one of their preferred lenders US Bank. I went with them for pre-approval for signing the purchase agreement with the builder in the month of XXXX. I was given initial disclosure on the loan estimate on XX/XX/XXXX though their promised lender credit missing. For every question I asked, there were no clear explanation given on credits not being applied. The interest rate offered for my credit score was 3.875 % In the month of XXXX, they re-opened my loan file. I kept asking them for the new interest rate and the revised loan estimate to do rate shopping. The lender never gave the revised loan estimate and stopped me from rate shopping. They said my credit score would drop and I would not be eligible for the loan program. Inspite of that I went ahead with rate shopping with one of the other preferred lender of the builder XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX with my initial disclosure form US bank. Immediately US bank ordered the appraisal without giving me any room for rate discussion. I found out XXXX was offering good MI for 3.25 % interest rate. US bank said they can give the same interest rate but never bothered about the MI and also said I will lose my appraisal amount. On XX/XX/XXXX I got the Loan estimate from XXXX and gave it to US bank to check if they can beat the rate and MI. On XX/XX/XXXX, US bank came up with loan estimate with 3.125 % interest rate still with high MI. So I decided to proceed with XXXX and inform the builder the same. XXXX repriced the rate and gave back lot of credits so less Cash to close with a difference of $ XXXXmonth on MI from US bank. In the mean time, US bank kept me in immense stress everyday by not replying emails and answering calls. They said they can not pull the credit report again. If they pull it, then would be able to match XXXX MI.To keep me with US bank, they promised they will give 2.875 % interest rate so that they can match the XXXX MI as US bank MI couldn't be changed. This is when US bank started with the plot. They changed the loan program from 97 % conventional to Home possible from XXXX XXXX.I never knew that it has a income limit. Later understood it was a plot to hook me up with a wrong program under lucrative interest rate. I dropped from XXXX and informed the builder I will be going with US bank. US bank again started playing the games on the loan estimate. Without my consent, they charged points to bring down the rates to 2.875 % and the rate was locked. US Bank management didn't agree to give me back the charged amount in the closing costs. Cash to close kept creeping up and they didn't heed to any of the closing costs concerns. As the bank was preparing all the documents for the closing date XXXX XXXX, On XX/XX/XXXX there was a sudden inquiry in my credit report. I called equifax to see who made the query. They said it was made by US bank. And it was done with no prior information and without my consent. I asked US bank why don't they fix the MI then, since they have latest report. I kept the file in pending status. I was informed the file will be ready on Monday which is the closing date. I asked my wife to take off from her work. There was no reply from US bank on Monday other than underwriter is still looking into the file.No response to emails or calls as usual to keep us under immense stress. I asked my wife to take another day off hoping that it will be completed the next day. There was no response and finally Tuesday evening and said I am no longer eligible for the loan program because of the income limit. So they have to give the interest rate as on date with higher MI than before. I was in deep distress since they said rate lock is not valid under the old program. They said they will check with their management. They never responded back till Friday. I informed my apartment that I will move out in the weekend. They had a new tenant signed for my rest of the lease, so I didn't have any rent obligation for the rest of the lease. With the delay going on closing the loan, I was forced to change the move out date. The Apartment office called me and said, they lost the tenant with change in dates, so its my obligation to pay the rent for the rest of the months. I decided to check with XXXX if they went with right Loan program. They said they have gone with correct loan program and they are still with same interest rate and same MI.I was happy to move with them. Even then US bank instead of giving the promised rate, asked me to cancel XXXX application so that they can close the house with promising any any change in the interest rate/MI/Closing costs. Somebody should stop these kind of unethical practices of US bank and compensate me for the losses and all the stress I have gone through.
